It is so ironic that the same human sicknesses that progressed to allow the crimes of the holocaust and genocides around the world is terminally infecting Israel at every level. A country that could have been the beacon of hope and humanity for the world through peaceful collaboration, leadership and negotiation. All of humanity is the lesser for this tragedy.

Just imagine ... imagine Jews had come to Palestine and instead of forging documents about land assets and calling the UN for support to make up a state and occupy additional land, we had asked Palestinians to sit together and make a picture about the future of a common state, where all the jews coming to Palestine bring knownledge, professions and expertise to make up prosperity and wealth for all, in a common modern state, the most modern state of that time in the region. And the only consession would be to accept the jewish imigrants as citizens. Is anyone stupid enough to believe that people of Palestine would had refused to have research, science, modern schools, modern medical care, developing technologies, water management for aggriculture, better housing and streets, and from all that prosperity and wealth in such a common state? Only idiots believe so! The pity is, the people who made up their exclusive own state, evicting the people who lived already there, occupying others land, were exacly those idiots ... and all the people living there, regardless if jewish, muslim or christian, pay the price until this very day for those founders stupidity. In this terms Israel is an utterly failed experiment, because it was failed in design in first place; and it sadly will not have a future with militant radicals like Netanyahu, still promoting the very wrong way Israel was founded in the first place. One thing remains always true, no matter what, "One cannot achive the right thing by doing wrong!".

I saw a video several years ago that said America’s politicians change but its policies don’t. This applies to the US/ Israel alliance also, the policy is that the chosen people deserve it all. In America that means 99.9% of the population is expendable and for Israel that means all of Northern Africa is expendable. So a couple of million people from each country will inherit the earth, let’s see how that plays out.

On a serious note, I have such respect for his honesty and courage for speaking the truth about a subject the US rarely discusses with either honesty or courage. The occupation must end if Israel is to survive long-term - it was always an unlikely project to succeed, and without the US's powerful military and diplomatic protection it would have ended a long time ago. It is much like the Crusader Kingdom of the 1100s - trying to transplant a brand-new nation of people on top of an existing one, with only one difference: the history of ancient Israel. But the European Jews of the 20th century had very little relationship to the ancient Jewish nations described in the Bible. And the Crusader Kingdom was finished within 100 years. There are a lot of similarities - fortified cities, being surrounded by a population different in both religion and culture, foreign patrons with wealth and military power, and a fanatical belief in the righteousness of their cause. The real tragedy is still the Palestinians' loss of their nation and their basic human rights - the horrific treatment of the Jews of Europe in World War II was always a problem for Europe to deal with and pay for, not the people of Palestine.
