I use to love my duma but that fact you need a modem to use it and the setup was horrendous. Gave up and sold it. It was such a pain to get up and running. Took days to get it working every time I changed my ISP.
@@greenxstealth322 Most modern routers you just plug in and get internet access without faffing around. The biggest issue with the Duma IMO is that you have to turn your IPS router into a modem/bridge to get the Duma to work. I've lost count of he days I've spent trying to optimise this. And then if you change ISP, you have to start all over again and each one is different. The Duma needs to be plugin and play before I get another one. I'm a simple man with a simple mind.
@@jday4217 They advertise it like it’s plugin and play, I’m thinking about getting one but not sure if it’s that hard to set up or not. Is there any better router with features similar to this one?
If you buy a new R3 from Netduma direct do not pay extra for the 1-2 day shipping. I did pay the extra last Friday when I contacted them they said it was too late to ship on Friday no problem it was shipped on Monday and tracking says it will not get delivered till Friday no tomorrow Wednesday. Duma basically said that’s not delayed enough to refund the difference in shipping to a repeat customer and puts it on UPS and I’m out of luck. I would recommend you save your money I will see when delivered if postage is 1-2 day if not will share with you.
Just a quick word on traffic prioritiation... this router can absolutely handle a house full of devices, gaming consoles, pc's and work laptops + individual VPNs. Thats the point of prioritization. Sometimes its auto, others you can dial in exactly how much in percentage you want each device to have, and the firmware is good at telling you what ip address is what. I've ran the same nighthawk netduma with DumaOS through two households and both had all the above, even two working at home IT engineers with 3 kids, variiusl consoles, phones, ipads, tvs etc. This was the old software and old router. If you decide to go this way, you gwan be fyne me bruddr
