Rushaili was sent off to boarding school at 4 years old so she may have parent attachment issues. I didn’t even know you could send kids to boarding school that early.

Aashay is trying to hold back so he doesn't scare Viral off, see how pensive he is when they discuss their relationship, he's waiting to see how she reacts and responds based on that...but he's serious already. I think also the distance holds them back a bit. I love Bobby! He's so fun, I hope he finds a good match!
@eh1126
@eh1126 Год назад
This relationship irked me so much because I feel like they both seek validation in order to be vulnerable and admit to their feelings. The problem is when both people are like that then in the end no body gets it.

I have 2 things to say about Rushaili: 1- I don't know if she is subconsciously setting her self up to failure with marriage, due to this attachment issue she has with her parents, and that's why she keeps saying "no" to all the guys. I understand she doesn't want to settle, and that's amazing she knows her worth, but I don't see much flexibility from her part if she really wanted to get married. 2- this one is a deeper thought: being sent to boarding school at 4 years old, might felt to her as she was literally abandoned. I feel this insecure attachment she has for her parents has a lot to do with her not wanting to separate from them even as an adult. I feel, the thought of her getting married is triggering this separation and abandonment wounds. The difference is that now SHE IS THE ONE who has to make the decision to "separate" from them, and I think this is extremely hard for her. It caught my attention that her mother kept asking "when are you going to choose?" For her potential candidates a few times in the kitchen scene, and she would shut down immediately (maybe she felt her parents are trying to "get rid of her"....again). Last thought: I think Rushaili would benefit from therapy to heal those childhood wounds of separation and abandonment (before she even thinks about marriage), because I am afraid she will feel like Sima, her parents, the potential husband, whomever it is, is forcing her to cut that umbilical chord with her parents (again), and she doesn't seem ready for that.

3:22 it’s ageist as it implies that you can have/get 100% at a younger age. But I know/think you mean that as you get older it is more important to focus on the musts/needs qualities you see in a potential partner I.e.: kindness, paternal/maternal, financially responsible as opposed to perfect abs, Sephiroth length hair, and billionaire. So it’s the wording not the intent in my opinion.

The people on this show are not only picky, my sense is that the majority of them are very well-off. Does anyone know how much Sima Aunty charges for her services? Do the families pay for her travel and expenses? Many of the “children” jet around like it’s nothing, jumping on planes to go on cross-country dates. All I could think is that it would be so much cheaper to meet someone organically. Matchmaking seems like the IVF (in terms of cost) of dating, with not the best odds.
@joanna0988
@joanna0988 Год назад
Apparently it's very expensive and families usually pay for it hence why the parents are involved. I've heard it starts at $1500 US and goes up to $10k.

It was ageist if you believe younger people can ask for more, meaning having a longer list of criteria because they have more to offer. But maybe you meant something else, like experience should help the older to prioritise.
@margaretchandia9452
@margaretchandia9452 Год назад
You are right most of the people are unrealist about their criteria. Rushali my be getting married to please her parents but doesn't seem ready. Sima Aunty spotted it when she said if she wants romance she should read a book. Her criteria sounds like something from a book. Bobby and his family are cute. His mom saying, 'take the Bobby' to Sima Aunty got me in stitches.

Commenting on 2:54 - 3:24, as a 40 year old, who’s selectively single, I tell you the list has to longer and expectations should get higher with age, because simply you have higher standards. I always tell my friends, what’s the worst thing that’s gonna happen? Remain single for the rest of your life? So what?! To me it sounds much better than being stuck in a relationship with the wrong person, or having to face a heartbreak after putting so much hope into someone or a relationship. Again ladies, let your standards get higher by age and never settle for less than you deserve
