Will be installing these at our two radio stations interconnecting with our Cisco Core switches as we upgrade our analog audio to digital... Will come back here and let every knows in a few months how it goes. The network design is an advanced configuration however so these switches will be using a custom setup and not the base configuration.
Correct me if i'm wrong but i just wish you guys would have come out with better options on the M425. Such as 8port or 12 port poe with 10gig or SFP+ uplinks. i currently use the MS510TXPP which is perfect both in price and abilities but lacking in features that the M series has in terms of AV. That and I wish these guys would allow DHCP passthrough or have one of their own but I get it. anyway i can only find M4250's with 8port and 2port SFP (1gig) or the same with poe++ and two SFP+ that is $500 more. Too bad you couldn't make a MS510TXPP like switch with 8 or 12 ports and 1 SPF+ and or copper 10gig in poe+ that isn'ty $1k. I want replace my MS510's and use the feature set of AV but don't need the poe++ and the two SFP+ that make that model $500 more. then again we were spoiled with the MX510 being so damn cheap :). anyway hope to get my hands on one of these soon to test and compare to the MS510 in performance using full NDI and dante
Fyi... none of your videos mention the additional license fee to activate the outputs you already paid for. I find this extremely unethical and feels like a bait and switch tactic. I literally had an M4250 GSM4212UX in my basket and noticed this "fee" as an additional accessory. I had to literally scour and search to find out that it was an extra fee to use the full functionality. That's ridiculous that you're failing to mention any of that. What is a $1200 purchase is now $1600 nah, hard pass now.
