I’d like to think everything gets cleared up, he comes back with another even better song, and wins the contest like Europapa wouldn’t have been able to.
I know right? I loved every second of it and even my mom, who's never been interested in a Germanic language loved the song. We both had it as our winner
@@primodesmile634 true but you dont need to defend joost here because i'm so 100000000% on he's side but many artist are coming out now with saying it was unsafe

The Netherlands were my winners once, in 1975. They were my runner-up 7 times, in 1957, 1959, 1972, 1984, 1998, 2005 and 2014. They were my last place once, in 1997.
@@Larssonnie06 keep in mind the jury vote may not be representative because when the jury show happened joost wasn’t there and they showed it on a screen. if he was there and the whole story wasn’t a thing the jury might’ve dared to give more points. not sure it would have been enough for a win though
Who thought it was good to send an imaginary language song in 2006 lol That one in 2003 was so good that we heard two more imaginary language songs later, that didn't even work
The Netherlands have really had it rough. Being what is commonly regarded as a powerhouse, thanks to S10 and Joost, but damn...they really just couldn't hold themselves together in the early 2000s.

My qualifiers and non-qualifiers of Netherlands in eurovision 🇳🇱 (Since 2004): OBS: I'll leave the automatic qualifiers as automatic qualifiers even if the country hadn't been my choice to win in the previous year or wasn't high for me in the semi-final format from 2004-2007, since as the entry did not face the semi-finals that year, it would be difficult for me to imagine a situation of these entries in the semi-final *Old semi-final format (2004-2007) 2004: Non-qualifier ❌ 2005: Qualified ✅ 2006: Non-qualifier ❌ 2007: Non-qualifier ❌ *New semi-final format (2008-Current) 2008: Non-qualifier ❌ 2009: Non-qualifier ❌ 2010: Non-qualifier ❌ 2011: Non-qualifier ❌ 2012: Non-qualifier ❌ 2013: Non-qualifier ❌ 2014: Non-qualifier ❌ 2015: Qualified ✅ 2016: Non-qualifier ❌ 2017: Qualified ✅ 2018: Qualified ✅ 2019: Qualified ✅ 2020: Automatic qualifier ➖ (If 2020 had happened) 2021: Automatic qualifier ➖ 2022: Qualified ✅ 2023: Non-qualifier ❌ 2024: Non-qualifier ❌ My opinions about the country in eurovision: Yeah, joost he seems to be a very friendly, nice and funny person, and I respect and even understand those who say he should have won, but the song unfortunately is not my cup of tea, but i respect everyone who likes the song, because is really a funny song, and he definitely didn't deserve to be disqualified 😢, Netherlands was also a country that I think was average in Eurovision, it really has some very good songs like 2022 and 2019 but has also some bad songs, but it is definitely a good participating country in my opinion, let's see what they has in store for "europapa" in the coming years at the festival (And JUSTICE FOR JOOST!)

Been watching your videos for a while from Canada. Really appreciate the time and effort you expend in putting your content together. Usually watch the stream through my television directly, but unable to comment through that medium. Now I'm connected through my mobile phone and wanted to thank you directly and have subscribed to your channel. The last live Eurovision broadcast I saw was in 1977. Moved to Canada in October of that year, but have always followed the contest every year from abroad. One of the best contests, along with 1991, in my opinion. Keep up the great work.
I’m the granddaughter of the writer of the 1962 entry Katinka (with 0 points). One of the reasons it scored so low was due to technical difficulties with the broadcast. While the Spelbrekers were performing some countries only saw shadows for half a minute. Nevertheless, it got them a bunch of goodwill in the Netherlands, and is part of the collective memory of Dutch persons from that generation. Nowadays it is one of the better-remembered Dutch Eurovision entries from the early years, and Dutch people see it as a golden oldie :)
As a Dutchman, it kind of pains that so many wonderful entries my country has had over the years, didn't end up making the cut to at least become Top 5 songs in Eurovision. My country is home to so much good and fun music, which I think deserves more recognition. Like Douwe Bob's Slow Down, OG3NE's Lights and Shadows, and the exceptional Outlaw in 'Em by Waylon, which I honestly think is one of the most fun songs ever in the history of Eurovision. I don't need my country to win, necessarily. I just wish that our music would get a little more love than what we get most of the time, because gosh darnit, a lot of this stuff is just objectively fantastic
@@MustiiForTheWin Joost was really good leaving aside the whole incident thing. Mustii had a really good song that was ruined by a terrible live performance.
Don’t want to get too involved in the Joost talk, so I’ll just rank ‘em: 1. 2019 2. 2014 3. 2013 4. 1998 5. 1975 6. 1980 7. 1993 8. 2022 9. 2003 10. 1969
After 6 years of being Joost fan i was crying because I was so proud that he finally stood there, on that Eurovision Stage, but now i keep crying when I think of the fact that he’s disqualified. People can comment Here and say that im being dramatic but Joost means a lot more to me than people think. Especially because im for almost 6/7 years fan of him. Joost is not just a Person. He is so Sweet and Kind and he is funny and a lot of people dont know that. Joost made such a Party at Eurovision, a Lot of people loved him, the crowd was wild. His disqualification was Not right
I only really got into the Eurovision Song Contest in 2018 when Waylon participated, though that was hardly a success. But I'll never forget the special feeling Duncan's song gave me in 2019. Even though it was only five years ago, it feels nostalgic. Winning again with such a beautiful song after 40 years was incredible. Then, due to the pandemic, I lost interest. It didn't seem like things were going well for the Netherlands. But Europapa gave me such a special feeling again; it truly brought Europe together. Or at least, it COULD have. We had a real chance, but because of some ridiculous nonsense, we were disqualified. Just when I find a bright spot amid all the crap I'm dealing with, it's taken away again. Great. I won't be watching the Eurovision Song Contest again for a while.
And again you put 1990. esc in Croatia instead of in Yugoslavia. This is so unprofessional to the fans of eurovision who wants correct informations of past host countries.
@@SchlagerLucas In 1990. it was in Yugoslavia. Yugoslavia won esc in 1989. and she was the host country in 1990. with city of Zagreb. It's simple as that. Why you put Croatia as host country in 1990. i really don't know. It could have been Belgrade also, would you then write that Serbia was the host in 1990? Everyone knows that the winning country is the next year's host country. Even Croatia itself states that Eurovision was held in 1990 in Yugoslavia in Zagreb.
I have a feeling that even if Joost competed in the final with a possible disqualification on the edge he would won the contest. That's why EBU disqualified him, bc it would be too much good PR for the Netherlands
