Great video...You, lost? I don't believe it for a single moment. Your trip out makes me think of my trip out today, a wander by the Wye valley in Derbyshire, watching birds and a variety of insects...no self cooked food in the field, just the things we took out with us. Most enjoyable. Thanks for sharing your mini adventure. Take care...

Those bluebells are so beautiful! No nettle here yet. I love nettles. What an underloved plant.

Lovely vid Chris! Looks beautiful, I can almost smell that soup too!!! A couple of questions mate, if you don't mind. Firstly, l really like your little oil sachets - do you buy those or make them up? I've made them with straws before, but they never hold enough oil!! And secondly, is your wee chopping board - is it wood? Hard to tell in the vid, I need a new chopping board, and like the look of it. Atb mate, Simon.

Simon, a bloke in the woods Hey, well the oil sachets were given to me by my grandad, they come with salad bags (I think) he buys but doesn't use the oil or salt sachets, so gives them to me. The chopping board is just plastic. I cut a big one down to this size. Cheers, Donny.

Thanks mate! I'll have to get me saw out and cut a bit of my wife's chopping board off, stealthily like!!! Cheers, Simon.

I had heard a recipe for nettle soup and was like ugh lol. But seeing this maybe I'll give it a try. If I can find my courage, I typically try to avoid them when I'm out tromping about. haha.

Donny what's that water bottle out of interest?
@DonnyOutdoors
@DonnyOutdoors 7 лет назад
skip & jump The green one is a Sigg. The steel one is a Klean Kanteen. I definitely recommend the Klean Kanteen.
@skipandjump
@skipandjump 7 лет назад
Awesome, you can stick that on a fire right?
@DonnyOutdoors
@DonnyOutdoors 7 лет назад
skip & jump You sure can! as long as you get this one, which is the classic, stainless steel, brushed. It's 800ml size. Don't get an insulated, or colour painted version. I've not used mine on a fire yet, as I use it alot elsewhere, but soon I will order a new one and use this one on the fire.
@DonnyOutdoors
@DonnyOutdoors 7 лет назад
Also I'll be getting a Pathfinder bottle hanger, to hang the bottle over the fire.
