Of course I don't know whether you should EQ yours but here's how you can EQ them. Sonarworks offer bespoke curves and software but you can do some DIY eq using VB-Audio's Voicemeeter. Enjoy.
Thanks Michael - do you have any advice on how to go about measuring the headphones - I've seen a youtube video using a foam head from like a shop dummy? And I've seen people just using a wooden box kind of head sized?
Ha ha, Henk I cannot tell a lie you are dead right! I could blame Lightworks but it's my fault really all can I advise is hit that mono button. Good spot, ta like, ppm6.
Cool. The two be used in conjunction - create an EQ profile of a space using REW and then use EQ APO like an effect insert at the end of Windows audio graph. Voicemeeter has direct support for the APO too. This may be slightly different for headphones than speakers (measuring them, I mean) but you can still use EQ APO with your own EQ profiles instead of one from REW.
I am having a issue with low output through the NDH20? What is the issue with that? I am running them streght from my Macbook pro. If a amp is needed how will this affect my mixing process?
Hi NoFame - My 32 ohm headphones are nice and loud on my MacBook air. My 250 Ohm Beyerdynamics are just too quiet. The MB has an output impedance of about 25 ohms. The NDH 20's are 150 ohm so you will need a amplifier to get them really loud. I'm sorry I can't recommend one as I haven't had recent experience. It shouldn't make a difference to your mixing a good amp will be neutral. Let us know how you get on. Ta like, ppm6.
Thanks Angelos. Can you tell me where you are hearing the cracking? The audio on the video isn't running through Voicemeeter and it would help to know at what times you are hearing problems. Ta like.
