Tested it this morning and must say it definitely has the sound I was looking for. I play mostly prog metal, so being able to play extended chords without the chord clarity being drowned out by excessive gain is a plus. I like plini's version, but this one nailed it. Only if had built in time based effects.
I always try to mic my amp, but this sounded really good so I downloaded the free trial on a whim... and played for 3 hours straight on the default amp, didn't even need to touch any knobs... was pretty blown away and finished writing a song I've had on the back burner for a few months. Definitely going to buy this one, first paid amp sim I want. Sure beats spending 400 bucks on a MD412 plus mic stand and cable for a second mic on my cab and still getting mediocre results for mysterious reasons. Sadly this plugin sounds way better than what I've been able to achieve mic'ing my amp. I might have to try the abasi or plini for a clean amp.
This is the first Neural DSP plugin I've actually been really impressed with. That said, the $120 price point is way too high for one head, one cab, and three pedals - one of which is completely redundant thanks to the Neural DSP interface already coming equipped with a noise gate.
@@davidsimard bruh, I know. I got the Fortin NTS when it was on sale 50% off, cost me 50 bucks for a 3 thousand dollar amp. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me. And now I have a bone-crushing tone.
This is the first Neural plugin I've bought I had a coupon I was saving so it was really cheap. I'm really digging it just wish it had a delay/reverb pedal.
Yeah, you'll have to load it into a daw with your own mod plugins, not as user friendly to do it that way but at least it won't sound the same as everyone else using the same set up.
I just purchased this plug in. Honestly have to say right from the start it is very easy to use. Very brutal to glassy clean and everything in between. I’m very impressed to say the very least. Worth every penny spent. 🤘🏻
It would be really cool if they muted the signal when the tuner is turned on, or offer the option to the user. I own four Neural packages, and they are truly amazing. That one thing really bugs me. Who wants to listen to a death metal guitar tone while the guitar is being tuned? Call me wrong :-)
Just bought the Nameless Suite, Plini and Fortin Cali, they had a 20% 2 products or more, spent 300 bucks. Worth it to me. Looking forward to really exploring them. Thanks for your vids.
mpexus I downloaded the trial this morning. This is my only criticism, but it’s a big one. One of the other plugin suites has some effects (I think the nolly one did). Despite how good this thing sounds, I’m inclined to purchase the other one, or a different product, just to have these things accessible and self contained.
This is why the various Archetypes are better values for the money than the standalone amp suites if you're just firing up the standalone app to jam out. There are solutions for running plugin chains outside of DAWs, but I don't know of any that are free.
One can hook up their pedal board through the interface right? Would be nice if there was an option to add pedals from other plugins, for maybe $20 up charge or something
Is anyone else annoyed that these Fortin plugins don't come with any time-based stuff? I just want a Fortin plugin that also has a good delay, reverb, and maybe a chorus. That way I can actually use it as a standalone. Plus, I know Neural is capable of making a good delay and reverb. Just add it in.
@@CODESTER978 Yeah I know but I want the nts with some delay and reverb in it's own standalone. I don't want to have to run nts and plini on top of each other in a DAW just to get a good delay and reverb.
its more money for them if they leave em out. people then have to buy the pedals separately, ultimately gaining a better profit....just a thought i dunno....
From the VERY first second the video started playing for the demo of this new amp plug-in...2 words..... ....BLOWN AWAY..... damn good sounding amp plug-in from Fortin! \m/
I've sworn by Howard Benson's STL Tonality plugin for the longest time now as there is such a great amount of tonal variety and I never any latency issues like I had with BIAS FX, but Neural DSP definitely has my attention. Gonna have to trial some of these plugins :D
Oh dude, honestly they're the best I've tried, I've tried most besides the newest STL one, the tonality I believe? But from what I remember you can't adjust the IR's which is an instant no for me.
This one is really sick. I can't get over how different all Neural DSP amps are. Got Nolly, NTS and Granophyre, tested all of them ... this one feels completely different from the previous ones. Cleans are really nice, you can get a decent crunch and make it really aggressive on both hi gain channels in a few different ways. It can be fat, it can be djenty, it can be thrashy, it seems like it's the most diverse one yet in terms of tonality and also I can't help to feel the sound quality is somehow even higher ... like ... it sounds more natural than the previous ones.
Loving the trial of this. When I saw it was a Fortin I thought I'd be skipping it because I felt the last 2 were for more extreme metal, but this covers the whole range, from clean to brutal. Speaking of the cleans, I'm impressed by this the most. I love the spacey, airy cleans of Plini, but this one provides an almost natural tone. I can't wait to try my electro-acoustic on it when this stupid lockdown ends and I can get it back off the luthier.
This sounds way better than Bias Fx 2. I personally just don’t like the way BFX2 sounds. It kinda sounds pretty unreal. So I’m definitely gonna get this now. Sounds much better. Cool video!
Hey Ola, I'm really stupid and it takes me longer to find the part again where you talk about your signal chain than it did for me to type this message. Would you consider starting to put your signal chains in the descriptions of your demo videos? I imagine your interface is rarely ever going to change, but if you're ever using different guitars/mics/DI boxes/whatever maybe an interesting/beneficial addition. Thanks for the demo my dude I appreciate all you do to help me make educated decisions!
You should try Audio Assault stuff! RVXX and Sigma are amazing and are my desk top amps hands down plus a great plugin. The best thing is they are not that pricey. Be sure to get on mailing list they give good discounts and stuff. God!, I want that guitar!!!! Z.K. P.S. New single is great.
