PLEASE READ: Just to be clear this was pre internal Beta so there were minor bugs and fixes to audio and preset builds that weren’t finalised. Therefore some of the sound differences will be greater than others. But NDSP allowed me to show you this ahead of the July 31st release. Just to reassure you. These fixes have been made. I already have CorOS 3.0 on my QC and can confirm it’s sick!
This was made extremely clear in the video. People just need to spend literally 10 minutes to watch the whole thing before coming up with some redundant take...
Would much rather they take the time (as they have) to ensure the release is as close to perfect as possible than release something that's "almost there". People will find a reason to complain no matter what, but clearly they've been working their asses off to make this possible. Can't wait for the 31st!
So nice to have a piece of hardware that is constantly improving. Can't imagine the work it takes to make all of this happen in that little box. Thank you guys for sharing.
This is why I bought the QC years ago. I had faith and patience it would come. What an awesome box this has been, and now we really can go exponentially anywhere. Congrats NDSP!
My QC just turned up today and I can't wait to jump straight into using the Gojira presets. Recorded all my demos with the desktop version, and now I can use the same ones live! So good!
I'm so excited for this! Archetype Rabea integration will be so amazing for my workflow... getting tired having to boot the mac and set shit up when I just want to sit down and have a jam after work; the QC is great for that.
Been waiting for this functionality to come to QC. I own 4 plugins and love them. Now I'm ready to purchase the QC unit. NeuralDSP absolutely killing it when it comes to evolution and response to market demand.
Sweet! I’m excited. I already bought everything a while ago so it’s like getting new stuff for free. Looking forward to getting Rabea and Wong on here.
Sounds great, excited for this and for the new effects coming as well. The wait was a non issue for me. I didnt buy the QC for the Plug-in integration and this is just going to be so much more powerful. As is, I believe the QC sounds the best out of the bigger named modelers out there.
I am insanely excited! I have Archetype Nolly and Parallax so those on the go is amazing. Obv still a little ways away but I am sure they're closer than they appear.
! BEAAAAA !, do you have any insight as to if/when your plugin will be available on the QC? The reason I ask is they're giving away a free plug-in next mo. and if yours is going to be available, I'll get that because I like the idea of the synth. If not then I'll get one of the two that are active currently. Hope to hear back. Thanks!!
Help me understand this correctly: "Plugin compatibility" on the Quad Cortex does NOT mean, that you run the PC plugins on the QC. Instead it means that they rebuild every part of the PC plugin under the QC and if you buy the PC version you get access to the QC version as well. Is that correct? Because I thought it meant it runs the original plugin on the QC hardware.
This has been a piece of gear that I've been eyeballng for some time. The main reason? I can visualize the chain from source to output on something other than a PC. I prefer using pots, faders, switches and the like as it's just quicker for me to try and get what I want. I've auditioned the Helix and smaller Stomp series, but this seems to work better. I'm glad they're gong to update CorOS with the 'X' plugins (which I love. @RabeaMassaad yours is certainly the most diverse. While I think the synth effects are dreamy, it's your take on 'spaciousness' in the effects chain that I have not come close to dialing in some personal semblance of them on my own. But then it's not uncommon for me to have an interfering opposable thumb where my pinky should be :) I'd also like to see an 'X' version of Abasi. I like to use some of the signal chains as templates for understanding my own sound design prefs, plus if they're even feasible in a mix. This can be an outstanding teaching tool on the studio end of life. Yeah, I expect every software/firmware release to have bugs - those are simply things to work around (with live acoustics, unless you're recording live, nuances may not matter so long as engineering discipline is well observed (i.e. a clean channel gets through for adding effects/IRs, etc in post if the mic'd recording either needs 'help' or the room acoustics are too live/dead in the wrong frequencies to get a decent recording). Thank you for showing us this!
So its not running the plugins on the QC like was promised... its more like DLC plugin copies... that's cool but not the same thing at all. I assume existing licenses will carry over. What about presets across from plugin to QC?
@@MaxTaylorGrant Yeah my question is more towards the possibility to drag and drop entire preset of a plugin in line one and entire preset of the other plugin in the other line, simply with 2 clicks..without import everytime the single components. this has not been shown on the video.
Will all the archetype plugins be available for this release? Or just the Plini and Gojira? Only thing holding me back since the qc release was when the Cory Wong archetype would be available.
Just those two for this update. After that I’m guessing nameless and parallax. Before a plug-in becomes compatible it has to be upgraded to the X version and then fully tested on the QC.
No, non of their plugins or the QC allows to isolate the preamp or poweramp of a specific amp model, but there are individual captures of preamps and some poweramps on board and you can of course capture some separately yourself
That's really impressive. A glimpse of the future. It'll take some time for something like this to get completely stable/nailed down. But when it is, I think QC becomes king of the modelling hill. Until then though, I'm tempted to invest in a UA Ox & Amp switcher. Because there's always a space for recording real amps in the studio. It doesn't have to be either/or.
Awesome stuff, I’ve held off getting a QC until it had OS 3, as it incorporates everything I love about Neural in the one unit. Loading the plugins on to the QC though, you just need to be signed in to iLok / Neural account on QC, or need plugging in to a Mac/PC to sync?
@@RabeaMassaadlove to hear that ndsp isn’t saying “well 90% is good enough”. Them making sure they can get as perfect of a product out wins you the long game.
Plugins are useless to me, can they please get back to the modelling aspect of it? Need more amps/cabs/fx, and a bass cut switch for the nobels... How bout working on the excess latency issue some more? Maybe making the UI more useable like allowing to you to rename squares in stomp mode, or allowing just 1 or 2 scene modes on off while in stomp mode, i dont want 4 or 8 give me 1 that switches between 2....
Other issues is with the power. I have to unplug the power after every time I use the unit because the unit turn on the second it sees power. If I turn the unit off I want the unit off. It should not turn on because it sees power. People use power strips and sometimes we do not want the unit on. Sorry but this is a flaw.
That’s what I thought until I spent some time with the QC. Never thought I’d leave fractal but my tone is better than it’s ever been and I spend way, way, way less time dialing it in. I’d challenge any fractal user to create a patch from scratch in less than five minutes and have it sound better than what I can do on the QC in that time without even having a guitar plugged in until it’s finished. And if we both get unlimited time I’d still finish long before the average fractal user and have a tone that’s at least as good.
The sad thing is, they dont even realize how far off from fractal. Or helix. I dont know why both those companies dont make a modeller in the size and form of the QC , and take neural out of the game
@@BobbyCulpepper.srv3fendermaybe I do. For example I have no interest in SRV's tone or the single coil tones you get from fenders. When I was young and just starting out that stuff was great but after decades of playing my tastes have changed. I have an axe fx (and several tube amps). I could never get the sound out of the axe fx it I was looking for. Probably because I'm more interested in playing my guitar than dialing in tone or maybe I just suck at using it. I'm sure you're great at using your axe fx to get those derivative tones that you grew up listening to. So organic man. However I'd bet my house that you couldn't tell my QC tones from a real amp in a blind test. If you think you can I'd say you're diluting yourself. You probably think tone wood makes a big difference lol.
@@BobbyCulpepper.srv3fender I checked out your channel and I have to say I think your playing is pretty great. Your tone wasn't anything special but your playing is nice. Maybe humble your attitude a little and people will start caring. I'm retired but when I was playing professionally I was definitely getting more views than you...
Haha yeah I get you. But imagine trying to tweak on a tiny screen like that. The main reason that they don’t use the nice pictures. Just wouldn’t be conducive to a professional work flow hahaha
@@RabeaMassaad Maybe give us the option? Bring up a pic of the real amp/pedal and tweak with the knobs or screen and then another for a grid view. I like the pictures as it feels less like I'm playing on a computer :) Agreed, can't wait for your X version. I own your plug-in now.
I used fractal for about a decade. I’m sure it’s me and not the technology but I’ve been able to achieve much better tones with much less effort using the QC. To be fair I haven’t tried the axe fx 3 so maybe the UI has been greatly improved but I found it frustrating on the older models. I also did a lot of patch editing on the unit itself rather than in axe edit so I’m sure I didn’t take the easiest route. Setting up my computer every time I wanted to make or edit a patch just wasn’t a feasible method. The QC isn’t right for everyone but for me personally it’s the best piece of gear I’ve ever used. Takes me less than five minutes to get a usable tone and maybe twice that to dial in something amazing.
@@Imfreehowaboutu Yeah each to their own. For me the Fractal effects sound more natural and the layout of the FM9, spacing of the switches etc is better...to be honest Ive never edited a Fractal from the unit, always from the software and its so quick and easy... The FM3 is a good little unit for any one wanting something similar in size to the QC. Look forward to what QC Gen 2 has in terms of form factor tho
@@SeanBodleyGuitarist I agree about the switch layout but it’s not an issue for me. My QC sits in a rack and I use an airstep with a midi mate for full wireless control on the floor. I use wireless for guitar as well and I love having no cables on the floor. Makes my ocd happy lol. I don’t use a lot of effects either so you may be right on with that take. A little reverb, sometimes delay and a phaser is about it.
I sold my QC for the FM3 because all the hype about it having the best tones, while they were the best, they weren't that much better... and using the UI was a horrendous experience. The QC's UI and touch screen is the standard now and a pleasure to use, Fractal needs to to update their units ASAP. After having a Helix, QC and Fractal, they're all definitely more than good enough to get great tones. Whichever you choose should be based on preferences, some are better at some things than others. For me, I'm going to go back to QC, it's the one I enjoyed to use the most.
@@kevinlau6403 It seems a little difficult to digest that we have to pay the same as a user without the QC...that's my nervousness now...then we will download presets from the cloud and it will no longer be the same, because there will be a lack of plugins...
It’s all been fixed. As I said. This is one of the first builds of CorOS 3.0.0 / pre internal beta. I have the release version on my Qc at home and it’s completely changed. Working great.
@@RabeaMassaad thanks for ur repply i love ur videos and ur playing...rabbea thats the problem i want them all! Soo its like 1000 usd or more for have them all 😢😢😢
Anyone who would say they can't get a good guitar tone out of a QC, NUX, a TMP, or any other amp sim pedal may want to assess if they should be playing guitar. Thanks
These things take a long time. This was pre internal beta. Like the first iteration. A lot needed to be addressed. I don’t think it’s strange. Elden ring DLC took 2 years. No one complained 🤷♂️
@@RabeaMassaad Ha, fair point. Though I'm sure even Neural themselves would admit that they wished it wouldn't have taken this long as it was a feature that was teased a very long time ago. Regardless, it's nearly here now so all's good. Will the synth module from your plugin be compatible? That thing is a sound-design beast. Keep up the great work Bea 🤘
Great development, but I respectfully disagree with the notion that this type of interface is professional, a real nice GUI is not and you can’t see your signal chain. This is discrepancy in capabilities of GUI and UX between the PC version of a plug-in and the Cortex. When the hardware came out it was the era of this minimalistic approach. I would argue one can check the signal chain on a Tone Master Pro faster because of the large skeuomorphic chain. One can get a glimpse immediately what’s on the board without going into parameters. I have a hunch that the next Helix or Fractal will go the same direction. A very simple skeuomorphic face of the device provides simple operation, while there’s the possibility to go deep with editing parameters. The other thing that came to my kind is how will this affect future plug-in development? Today’s CPUs are so much more powerful running DSP algorithms (despite being general purpose) compared to SHARC chips. How long can the QC keep up, how long will feature parity last?
@@RabeaMassaad features is perhaps the wrong word. (For for the price) the QC doesn’t have a proper compliment of amps, within that they’re limited in terms of customisation, it would be great to have a bias or sag control etc. limited on the stomp box and fx front compare to the competition. TBH they should have had so many of the upcoming “plugin” blocks already on the unit, it seems stingy to charge when there are holes to be filled.
Really not understanding you… you have a lot of options with the QC, each modeler brand has their own features and approach, I wouldn’t say the QC is lacking, if anything it has a lot of features… and what exactly are they charging for? These are plugins which are a completely different thing and they are allowing you to use it inside the QC, for free…
This is a professional device but is this company “professional when they made people preorder this device and didn’t deliver with promises for about 4 years!? lol jabs at the tone master because fender didn’t eff people over lol. TMP looks better
What happened to simping for Line 6? I guess loyalty is hard to find amongst "musicians" of your "Caliber" Money equals "good tone" Of course, you dont get 350K in subs without "stroking everybody." Unsubbed and disliked. YT has gone the way of AMWAY
I've been using qc for 2 years straight, gigging 3 to 4 nights a week. Im going back to the helix. I love the size of qc by far, but takes to much work to get a good sound and feel, but I don't play metal, and it seems neural only cares about metal heads
Wtf are you on about dude. I only used the line 6 because I had to for frogleap shows. Because of the variax technology. As soon as QC dropped and I could use pitch shifting and my own guitars I switched it up. I’ve been using QC since it came out and still use it to this day. It’s got nothing to do with money. I prefer QC, it sounds better, it’s easy to use, it feels way better and overall is better for me. No need to chat shit and make idiotic assumptions. Seems a pretty safe spot sat behind your keyboard ey! Thanks for unsubscribing… moron
@@RabeaMassaad I always know that when I get a reply from a guy with 350k in subs that is 6 paragraphs long that I have hit the nail on the head. By the way, how does one "assume idiotic assumptions?" Asking for a friend.
@@benburnett8109you’re right, I should have said ‘make idiotic assumptions’ as that is what you’re doing. Having 350K makes no difference. You’re using your asshole as a mouthpiece. Do better
@@RabeaMassaad Awesome!!! I GOT 2 (two) replies. When you say "do better," is using my "a$$hole as a mouthpiece" or "calling out yt schills" on their phony bs? Because it seems that using my "ahole as a mouthpiece" is working just fine for calling you out. Enjoy your QC. It only took them 4 years to fulfill the main feature of the product. And they still have not fully implemented most features that Line 6 had 10 years ago. Let alone Fractal.
If you already own the plugins, why would you be being ripped off? If you own the QC surely if anything it’s giving more value by adding all of this extra stuff to the unit. The unit itself is already filled with great devices, so really the only reason you’d be using the PCOM devices is if you’re already heavily relying on the plugin presets or devices for your sound. I’m not sure where I see the ripping off in this. But if im missing something please explain. More than happy for the discussion
@@RabeaMassaad Rabea, We waited 4 years and bought the product thinking this was going to be a feature. The company gave a free plugin to newer customers while giving nothing to old customers. Another flaw is when I turn off the QC it should be off, but nope the second it sees power it comes on. That is a flaw. Off should mean off. Sorry to complain. It is how I feel at the moment. I have to unplug and plug in my QC every time I use it. It needs to be fixed.
@@RabeaMassaad Sorry for going off about it. I know for many it is exciting. I just feel many of us were misled from the get go and it is hard to forget.
@@RabeaMassaad I see that they are giving us a free plugin. That is a step in the right direction. Honestly I love my QC. I just wish they would have been more up front with the customers and fix the power of the unit
If the only reason you bought the QC is to use plugins on it, When there hasn’t been an initial timeline for its release of these features then that’s kinda foolish dude. Most people (myself included) use QC for many other reasons, we also gig and tour the QC happily and don’t really have any need for the plugins to be on there. It’s just a nice bonus that it’s happening. QC has been more than suitable for professional situations, as proven by the countless major artists that use them without the need for plugin compatibility. So again, I’m just wondering why you would place all your value in a brand based on such a specific part of a way bigger picture. SMFH
