I've reviewed this again and am less certain of my original interpretation of the tweet. Previously, I thought Elon was confirming that the IDE application would be submitted this year, but it's possible he's confirming they'll have a Neuralink in a human before year-end. I think Elon was not confident during the TED interview (April 6th) that they'd do the first human implant this year, but that could have changed by the time he tweeted on April 24th. My best guess is that the IDE application has already been submitted, and it's likely (but not a guarantee) the first human implant of a Neuralink will be completed before the end of the year.

Could you please report on using motion, force, & acceleration capture “suits” worn by humans, combined with AI to train humanoid robots from fetch/carry tasks, to measure/install things like solar roofs, to building off-planet things like landing pads, habitats, & fuel/materials processing depots?
@rodschmidt8952

And do they even need "suits" nowadays, or do they just use video cameras?

Your right it is impressive! However it’s been done before many times and accounted for in previous scientific literature (I’m a neuroscience masters student) so to the scientific community nothing new has been achieved which is why it isn’t getting as much appreciation

@magnamic5614

@@F.M671 Yes, NeruaLink is completely different. My Tesla comment is more about the A.I. their team is working on and how that, in theory, could assist NeuraLink and NeuraLink could assist Tesla in the future. The synergy is like The Boring Company and Tesla, two completely different companies working on completely different problems yet they complement each other’s end goal so well.

בָּהיר adjective The definition of the Greek word "bright" light, clear, fair, sunny, lucid. And you were absolutely correct about after a person dies, we still own my mom's note 9 and it's still active because if anybody calls that didn't know she passed away, they could still get a hold of someone on the very phone she used to communicate with them, it's like having your own mom after she passes away on a phone, and what's even weirder is that I've been doing custom phones custom rom's at the beginning almost, just like the old application it was a launcher called sweeter home, and you could actually from the ground up build your launcher with your springboards to whatever features wherever you wanted just like all the OS that come out with today for all the different brands of phones that they operate on, just like the rom on my one plus one, by Ground Zero ROMs and it's called Tesla OS that's the rom I run on my phone phones, and it's super cool, so the future looks bright and customization to neuralink is only going to increase, there's no doubt in my mind, sincerely John D. Kavanaugh Jr,✌️in "Musk".

Whether through Neuralink or nanobots, one of the most amazing, seemingly sci-fi, things that is coming in the not so distant future is immortality. The "ship of Theseus" thought experiment is useful when thinking about whether one would still be the same person when it does become possible to upload one's mind to the cloud or a robot. In order for it not to simply be a copy of your mind (which, yes, some would say is "you" so it doesn't matter that the "you" in your physical body dies, I disagree) it would actually be necessary to do a gradual upload in order for it not to be a copy of you. For example, if you are still you with 1% of you in the cloud, then 5%, then 20% and so on you remain consciously "you" thought out the process to the point when 100% of "you" is in the cloud, yet, at no point was there ever a time when "you" stopped existing and a copy took your place.

@ConspiracyCraftersStudio
@ConspiracyCraftersStudio 2 года назад
I think its impossible due to uniqness of being. All we are is this human body mind connection. It manifests as this ongoing proces. Once you stop it and make a copy, the other copy wont be you. Awareness of this particular being is undividable. I cant imagine how would that work without interrupting the ongoing process of Awareness

It is obviously possible to copy a person’s entire knowledge/memory/personality into a computer one day, but it would only be a copy. It isn’t actually YOU. So you would have a robot that thinks and acts exactly like you but the original “you” would still be in your real biological body. This is so obvious yet all these videos and people on the internet seem to think it will be possible to transfer your consciousness and subjective experience of existence into a new form. Again, it would only be a copy. It’s likely impossible to jump into a new body without a transfer of your brain into the new form. A much more likely use case is to remain in your biological body while being able to control a robot remotely as if you’re in it. That is to say, the robots senses and perspectives and motor control could be fed into your biological brain using neuralink so that you can temporarily feel as if you’re that robot and control it. But permanently transferring into it goes to the heart of the mystery of what even is consciousness. Currently we don’t know of any way to separate our awareness from our physical biological forms. It may very well be that we have souls or some unknown energetic form to our minds, but what that is and how to transfer it to a new body is WAY WAY beyond our science currently.

Not saying there's no way no.. just curious how they gonna transfer conciousness. Everything about what defines you ? sure.. but how do you make someone actually keep the illusion of control. Like they gonna wake up in their new body acting normal and shit.. say they are conciouss and everything because during their existance they always assumed they were conciouss and have learned that. But they may actually not be conciouss in their new body even tho they act like as if they were. I mean.. to solve this problem.. what is conciousness ? do you really believe it's just some signals and information going from point A to point B that creates that ? I don't know not saying anything in this specific comment If we make a digital brain not an analog one.. but basically a copy of ourselves... we represent the whole brain with 0s and 1s (It's gonna be inneficient to do it this way but let's say we do it okay ? we stay digital to stay simple because I don't fucking understand analog computers.. and also if analog creates conciousness then digital can too why not ? I can't see why).. we create a copy of you lets say ok ? is that new copy gonna be conciouss ? yes its gonna act like you but in the end.. it's the same mechanism that created the calculators that we use today so.. are our calculators conciouss ? I don't know what is conciousness ? what are all the things that are conciouss ? I understand why some turn to spirituality including me... of course I still can't make the assumption that oh... It's spirituality man.. If neuralink proves me wrong somehow (idk how tho... unless I try it myself and make it part of my own conciouss experience that is the only way I can think of.. I could also die in the process idk man depends on how they do it.. I'd be in my new body telling yall that it's great I'm alive it worked or whatever.. but that is not a prove that uploading conciousness works ) I'll be glad to know the truth but yeah as for tesla bot self driving and everything.. AI is fucking op.. and we could surely enhance our brain with modules.. enhance the experience, the rest I don't know.. just questioning but I'm not saying anything

It’s possible consciousness is largely an illusion and that most people aren’t really conscious most of the time. Consciousness is arguably self awareness and is possibly just a group effect that occurs once the level of processing power goes above a threshold. The animals that exhibit self awareness make an interesting subset.

Elon is often hyperbolic for the effect of having others repeat what he says. His companies don't spend on advertising so he relies on the media and others to take his statements and make them viral. If I had to hazard a guess I would assume he doesn't actually believe that transferring human conscience from one substrate to another is possible, he's just saying something he knows will be controversial and discussed.

I believe he just means he'll transfer memories into a system that has self-awareness. Very idiotic idea, I understand people want to achieve immortality but the masses need to understand that your child is literally an extension of yourself, half of you. Just accept natures fate and be happy that your DNA lives on

Down loading the Brain is one thing, but what about the soul? We should not discount our spiritual being.

I like the topic of neuralink, but can you not put your camera close up to your face? It's just a little distracting.

Tinnitus should be a first target. It is a huge market. 2 million disabled by severe Tinnitus in the US alone. I have severe Tinnitus. I'd take a 50% chance in any trial if I could. Also, cochlear implants nearly completely alleviate Tinnitus in most patients (70%) and they only have 22 electrodes. Surely Neuralink has the capaacity to take over a cochlear implant company and integrate their tech to irradicate Tinnitus with 1,024 electrodes it should be a piece of cake. Neuralink implantation could mimic existing cochlear implant surgeries. It's a huge potential that must be clear to the company. More revolutionary treatments like helping people walk again will then follow.

Am artificial brain? Tesla already has that. It’s called a neural network. For more complex artificial brains you just need larger neural networks. This has absolutely nothing to do with neuralink. What exactly do you imagine they would be developing?
@NeuraPod
@NeuraPod 2 года назад
Yeah, the neural network(s) would be trained using the data their gathering. It's way more appealing and easier to comprehend for the public if I refer to thing's in layman's terms, so "brain" is what I settled on. Tesla's building an artificial driver's brain. Neuralink could do the same for practically anything a human is doing in their daily life.

How much do we let the public know the percentage we live is 100% but in what form and that will tear many into distrust as to who will play god in the sky. Will we have to do a world wide freddy kreauger where we all metaphorically reside on elm street to control human behavior example hwving sex at a young age not realizing the good with the harm via pregnancy if couple is not in right means , std, jealousy at such a young age esp from hollywood sex sells impact taking away from basic knowledge of the youth and humanities. Everyone likes ice cream ( almost everyone) but dont know how to make it Almost everyone loves cell phones technology.?. They have no fucking clue how words reach china instantly the china space station
