Elyn will be discussing Neurofeedback (EEG biofeedback) and the work she has been doing for the past five years with the students at Peng Cheng Special Education School in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province. She will introduce the case of Li Chen Xiao, one of her students, and explain how neurofeedback changed his life. She will also present an overview of neurofeedback/brainwave training and how it has helped children with many different challenges (autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy, and learning differences) make progress in their studies and daily life.
Elyn MacInnis has lived in China for the past 27 years. During this time, she helped many organizations, including Peng Cheng Special Education School, and Golden Key, which helps blind and vision impaired children. She has also created programs to teach spoken English and instruct students in cross-cultural awareness on CCTV (Outlook English Magazine), in hospitals, and in other social service organizations. She has taught at the Middle and High School level, and is a minister at Trinity Congregation in Pudong.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

Elyn, I have a question about Little Moon's NF training. What frequency range do you typically train at? Do you do infralow training? Thank you for this TED Talk.

What would happen if you received gamma waves during a neurofeedback session?
@ElysianFields108
@ElysianFields108 4 года назад
Check out the RU-vid channel for Awakened Mind Institute or Judith Pennington as, from what I understand, the Mind Mirror technology they use and their method focuses predominantly on strengthening gamma waves in the brain.

Wonderful what she is doing but why not help here in USA? My daughter and I were in horrible car accident. I ended up on SSI. My insurance in Massachusetts does not pay. I am educated, know of neuroscience, we eat healthy. Unfortunately we were new here and the Waldorf community did not understand my disability and just wanted to help us cope. My brain is fried..have had no help. Broke and cant find anyone to help us. My daughter is teen now, know she struggles knows she lacks and struggles. I am so tired of asking for help. But I guess we could get free treatment in China but not in USA. Even a trade, a or percentage of my SSI. Noone will help me and daughter. . Now she is coping with her feelings of lack in wrong ways. Anyone know of someone to help me get help for her and me so we can work again and not have a teen feel so frustrated that noone cares please contact me

Neurofeedback is still in its infancy for clinical applications. The inaccuracy of her interpretation about the brainwaves and EEG analysis is worrisome.

this is the most frustrating presentation I have ever seen. A really important and interesting topic BUT the explanatory diagrams are flashed up for a couple of seconds so there is little opportunity to understand and interpret what is being explained and we get to see the presenter pointing vaguely at the out of focus slides. Next to useless. I don't want to see the presenter, I want to see what she is talking about. Also very little explanation of the process or how and why it works. Amateurish in the extreme

I think she has too little Theta waves because she sounds kind of a bit ROBOTIC.
