I carry out a neurological examination (upper limb) in this video. I walk you through the different elements of the examination and what you would be looking for when carrying out an examination like this.
If you have a physiotherapy patient who has neurological symptoms then it is really important to carry out a neuro exam as part of your assessment.
There are many different parts to the neurological examination and in the video I talk through a variety of special tests that you can use, in order to clinically reason through a patient with neurological signs and symptoms in the upper body.
This will mean that the next time you have a patient in clinic with these symptoms, you can feel confident and happy with how to perform the neurological assessment and what things would be cause for concern, or would likely indicate that an onward referral was necessary.
