After watching so many neurological exams on perfectly 'normal' patients, it's really interesting and informative to see it done on a person with a true disability. Really shows what these tests are designed for and how they can help a physician gather information from their patient.
I have MS. My neurologist is AMAZING. He talks to me like I'm not only his patient but also a friend. He actually only sees patients on one day out of the week and does research all other days.
Hugely educational. Thanks to all involved and special thanks prof. Tubridy for a great demonstration / explanation and to Siobhan, very kind of you to allow us all to learn by participating in this video.
Great Video! For Understanding! Thanks to the Dr. (Love his bedside manner & compassion).. & Thanks To Siobhan for her bravery!! Praying for her health & Healing!!🙏🙏🙏❤️🦋🦋
My neurologist said to me you're a puzzle and turned his back on me. He went on sick but another neurologist put everything together and said you've got transverse myelitis. He was lovely and kind like this neurologist.
I have MS, and to be honest some of these tests make you feel really crappy, because you know normal people can do it no problem, and you are royally "f"ing it up even though it's so easy a child can do it! (And my Neurologist is really lovely) still feel crappy!
Great video. I'm a doctor and RU-vidr. I always examine for internuclear opthalmoplegia in all MS patients! It's also important to have good bedside manner.
Allison Yes, me too.... I live in Norway and I wonder if it is possible to get checked by him somehow??? I have too many strange things going on in my body and my doc. here not seems to even document everything that happens to my body! Wonder what the cost might have been?
I went through eye testing walking down a long strip in clinic no fun when you .cant walk right or balance. MS IS NOT THE SAME WITH EVERBODY. THESE DOCTORS ARE GOOD PUT ME THROUGH SAME TESTS
Yes, the MS neuro exam. I have MS and have had these exams every time I go to the doctor or neurologist. I can see me in that exam, she actually does the same things as me. Good job for explaining the exam.
I went through the same this doctor is doing. My left side no feeling. I wear a brace on my left leg. Wait if they do it in the video they poked me with electrical current. That was not fun At all on certain points of my body I had feeling..MS KEEPS ME FROM KNEELING IN CHURCH PAINFUL LEGS DON'T WORK FOR ME I HATE IT.
What i wanted to ask is when should medication be given? My Child has no movement problems but still has fatigue, face tiggling, pain in the eyes and doctors refuse to give medicines.
Hi I'm yanet, hope you n your child r doing well, I'm sorry about what's going on,I myself have muscular Dystrophy,I was diagnosed at 9 yrs old..I have a channel where I show alittle of my struggle with it,soon I want to make a story diagnosis video in hopes my story helps others, because alot of people want to know the young onset symptoms,if you would like to check me out n have any questions I'd love to answer them for you,,it won't be an easy journey but it's definitely possible with the right support n love. My channel is just my first n last name, thanks again and hope to see you there, 😘
You need a 2nd opinion. Ask your pediatrician to get you a referral to a neurologist. Take down every possible thing you can think of. Here is what is needed for diagnosis.... mri to check for lesions, neuro exam, and a lumbar puncture.
Is the exam different if a person has Lyme disease? My MRI showed up with white lesions. They are saying Lyme or MS. I have already been to 3 neurologist.
Gear1993Head xxx. Hi, only having such sign does not mean u have an illness of nervous system. If that sign is associated with other signs, that matters . So i would recommend you to see your GP for clinical check up.
its called a barbinki's refex and it is to see if your nerves higher up in your brain is working less than the ones just coming out from your spinal cord and to the muscle of the feet. the causes can be alot depending on age etc. It normally should not be positive so I advise you to get seen by a doctor.
problems walking in video will get alot worse,,,but they dont tell you,im 52 with ppms thats my experience and we are all the same with diffrent symptoms.
