Such a good example of how doctors should interact with patients: observant, kind, considered, thorough, and exuding calm.

After watching so many neurological exams on perfectly 'normal' patients, it's really interesting and informative to see it done on a person with a true disability. Really shows what these tests are designed for and how they can help a physician gather information from their patient.

I have MS. My neurologist is AMAZING. He talks to me like I'm not only his patient but also a friend. He actually only sees patients on one day out of the week and does research all other days.

My neurologist said to me you're a puzzle and turned his back on me. He went on sick but another neurologist put everything together and said you've got transverse myelitis. He was lovely and kind like this neurologist.

I have MS, and to be honest some of these tests make you feel really crappy, because you know normal people can do it no problem, and you are royally "f"ing it up even though it's so easy a child can do it! (And my Neurologist is really lovely) still feel crappy!

You need a 2nd opinion. Ask your pediatrician to get you a referral to a neurologist. Take down every possible thing you can think of. Here is what is needed for diagnosis.... mri to check for lesions, neuro exam, and a lumbar puncture.

Gear1993Head xxx. Hi, only having such sign does not mean u have an illness of nervous system. If that sign is associated with other signs, that matters . So i would recommend you to see your GP for clinical check up.

its called a barbinki's refex and it is to see if your nerves higher up in your brain is working less than the ones just coming out from your spinal cord and to the muscle of the feet. the causes can be alot depending on age etc. It normally should not be positive so I advise you to get seen by a doctor.
