I am elderly and I have told my husband and indicated on my driver's license that when I'm finished here I want my parts to go to any of my fellow human beings who can use them. Hopefully, everything won't be worn out. 😂 Love you all❣

It's so hard to believe anyone can deny donation. All those precious organs that are so important to someone will just disenegrate the person saying NO may one day be in need and how will they feel

I don't believe organ donation is barbaric. I think it's a marvel of science that can save many people's lives. I've been an organ donor ever since I was a kid.

I think he meant it can appear barbaric to have that conversation just as a person is in shock and grieving.

Thank you for this message. It is worth repeating that you should advise your family of your wish to be an organ donor. In most cases your family has the final approval regardless of your donor consent. I thank my liver / kidney donor and donor family for the best eight years of my life. Organ donation provides a wonderful legacy for your loved one.

What a sad & tragic event for that family 😢. However, I can attest to the life giving miracle that organ & tissue donation can provide. I rec’d a bone & cartilage graft from a tissue/organ donor (13 y/o child) for my knee & it completely changed my quality of life! I cried tears of joy when I got my call!! I’m so thankful for my donor & their family ❤. Hoping that this wife who lost her husband can take comfort in the fact that his loss will help others live again. I can’t quite remember the exact facts, but I think at least 8 people can gain an organ & countless others gain tissue from just 1 organ/tissue donor. It’s pretty amazing!

Thanks for spreading the word. You can also be a Bone Marrow donor now while you are alive as there are so many people that need bone marrow transplants. Just get on the registry. Give the gift of life now while you are alive and then again when you die. You can help so many people. Also donate blood. Thanks for your content on Ytube.

I’m in Australia, as I understand it everyone is automatically an organ donor, unless they decide to opt out. You can also choose what organs and you’re comfortable donating. I think it’s also really important to have that conversation with your loved ones; just so that they know for certain that it’s what you want. Then they don’t have to make that decision. I’m comfortable with everything being donated. The way I see it, it makes no difference to me because I no longer need them. But if it means someone lives for another 50 years, or someone’s quality of life is improved then it’s 100 percent worth it.

Not true. You need to register and get a donor card.

Thank you so much for sharing a story about the importance of organ donation. BTW, I'm an organ donor, and so was my late brother when he passed in his late 30s.

That poor lady. She must've been so strong to agree on the basis of what she knows she would feel at another time, when at that precise moment, every fibre of her being must've been willing that body to just come back to life again. In the UK we have recently changed the organ donation system to be one where you have to opt-out, rather than opt-in. So it is taken that you are willing to donate if you or your family have not specified otherwise and you are not in an excluded group. I don't know if this has helped rates of organ donation, I don't think there's enough data yet, but I hope it helps relatives with giving consent for their loved ones. I used to donate blood until they started constantly rejecting me for being too low on iron. So then I put myself on the stem cell register. Strangely enough, about a month later, one of my friends was diagnosed with myeloma. I wasn't called to donate for him, in fact he had a autologous stem cell treatment (using his own), but he is so dear to me, and it was a really good reminder of how donations really help real people, who have lives, and talents, and people who love them.

The monetization of this practice has led to some questionable issues. As a nurse, I have seen some very unethical behavior around this issue. It sounds like this case was a win for everyone except the poor fellow with a dead brain and the family;/// I love your channel!!!!

So sorry for your losses.I live in Portland Oregon and need brain tumor surgery. My surgeon is an incompassion ate robot,Dr.S.Gore of Oregon Clinic.I elected to go to UCSD .Gore may be an expert but his arrogance even upset his staff.Keep your compassion, even if you are the almighty in your field.Gore broke me until I heard opinions from his peers.

Karen, I’m sorry. Not just to hear about your brain tumor diagnosis but to hear you weren’t treated with compassion is heartbreaking. At such a vulnerable time, of course you must be told the truth but it must be wrapped in compassion, grace, & kindness when delivered. I hope & pray you can find that in your healthcare providers & that healing and good days are soon to come for you. ❤️

Peggy, I think there are in almost all cases organs that can be used. I am elderly and joke about my parts wearing out, but I'm sure "they" will find something they can use of mine to help someone live a better life. I hope so.
