I’ve tested so many of these devices and in my experience they all do the transmission over multicast, which blocks regular tcp/ip data traffic.. will order a few of these to test out.. thanks..
@curaga0161
@curaga0161 2 года назад
If that is the case, it should be easy to isolate a second network just for these so they don’t interfere with the overall bandwidth of your main LAN network. There’s no reason why they couldn’t still be plugged into the same router, but they would need a separate switch so the packets don’t travel beyond the switch for Transmitter-to-Receiver traffic.

@brewsterblockgoogle6372

Hey Samir. Now I'm a bit confused. Is the config. with 1 PWAY transmitter and multiple receivers wireless? (You said "like" broadcasting.) If not how are the receiving PWAY receivers/TVs connected? Does each receiver connect to the next? Presently I have 1 router/modem and 2 TVs. Each TV (old) still requires its own PVR. The 1st (primary) PVR is LAN cable connected to the modem (and then HDMI into the TV). At the modem there is a small transmitter which wirelessly transmits to the 2nd PVR (and then HDMI into the 2nd TV.) I want to SPLIT this 2nd HDMI signal for a 3rd TV on a separate floor from the 2nd TV and its PVR. Only one of TV2 or TV3 will be on at one time. I have a very long Cat5e cable if I need it. So if wireless, simple. If there are cables between the PWAY transmitter and 1 or more PWAY receivers how do I connect them? (for example if there were a 3TVs and 3 PWAY receivers). If you could refer me to a schematic that would help.
@TechTalkwithSamir
@TechTalkwithSamir Год назад
Great question. It’s not wireless. It’s very simple. From your DVR, connect the HDMI cable to the transmitter and connect the Ethernet port of the transmitter to your router. Then connect each of your receivers to the same router using Ethernet (perhaps using the existing cabling in your house) and connect the HDMI ports from the receivers to the TVs you want to view on. That’s it and it should all work.

@TechTalkwithSamir
@TechTalkwithSamir Год назад
As long as you have Ethernet ports at both location that goes to your router/switch, it should work perfectly. Also you have to make sure that the device you’re playing your content on is a separate device (I.e can’t be your smart TV). Because your playing device has to have an HDMI output. TVs usually don’t have an output (so maybe use like a Roku or chrome cast).

Will this work if I am using a wireless mesh network? My NVR goes into a eero hub would the cable go into the extra port and then transmit to another eero with a cable going to the TV? Or does it have to be through cat5 cable direct connection?
@TechTalkwithSamir

I personally have not tried that. However i suspect that it will technically work but it will likely degrade your WiFi experience since packets will be continuously transmitting wirelessly. It’s also possible that the picture will be glitching out from time to time if there’s interference. But honestly I’m curious to know the outcome as well. Let me know if you do end up trying it.

They’re definitely compact enough. The only tricky part is that you do need to run power to the receiver if you’re getting the one that can do multiple receivers. If you get some of the ones that do direct connection from the transmitter to receiver, some of them are powered by POE so you can avoid having to run power to it.

Can we transmit and receive HDMI data over RF link?
@JASMAHLA

I mean, using long distance Network RF link antenna, of the order of 2kms or more.

Has anyone teste something like this over a wireless point-to-point connection, we have a guard house that is connected to the same network and we need to install a display for the guard to views camera's.

I haven’t personally but if it has a stable enough connection, I can’t see why it wouldn’t work.

So... if I want to see my cameras on a TV away from the NVR, then I plug one to the NVR and the router, and the receiver to the other TV where I want to see it?
@TechTalkwithSamir
@TechTalkwithSamir 2 года назад
Yup. That’s it. You obviously have to connect the one on the TV side also to your network (using an Ethernet cable). You can even have multiple receivers and have it show on multiple TVs throughout the house.
@MrMagnasco
@MrMagnasco 2 года назад
Thank you. I still don't know why it won't work. I have it plugged into power, hdmi from the NVR, hdmi to the TV, and ethernet cable to the router. It shows fine on the TV. Then the receiver one, plugged into power, hdmi to a TV (downstairs, within range), and ethernet cable to the PoE wall adapter I have. Still... TV says no hdmi signal. 🤔
@TechTalkwithSamir
@TechTalkwithSamir 2 года назад
The Ethernet on the receiver has to connect to the router as well. I assume you mean power line adapter (not poe adapter). I’m not sure it will work over a power line adapter. Is the other side of the power line adapter connected to your router?
@MrMagnasco
@MrMagnasco 2 года назад
I actually took the receiver off the adapter, and plugged it into one of my Google Mesh routers which I realized was nearby. Still, the TV. In the correct input source, tells me there's no HDMI signal. Weird. I'll keep looking, but I don't know what's wrong here.
@TechTalkwithSamir
@TechTalkwithSamir 2 года назад
It needs to be directly wired to the same router as the transmitter. Having a mesh network likely is the reason it’s not working.

The output from CAT6 cable will go into the receiver. And you will use a HDMI cable from the receiver to the TV

How much bandwidth did it use up, out of interest?
@TechTalkwithSamir

It uses just under 6Mbps. Not sure if it’s variable bit rate or constant but with my surveillance camera setup, the transmitter is sending 6Mbps and each device is receiving 6Mbps.

If you have Ethernet going to your bedroom tv, you can use a hdmi over Ethernet device like the one I mentioned in this video. Another way would be if you get a firetv stick, you can integrate it using Alexa and your TV can show it. Although I haven’t played to much with that method.

Depends on how the orbi routers are connected. There can’t be anything wireless in between. It has to be end to end wired in order for it to work well.

Hi good day Sir. This was a very nice video and impressive to me. I had almost the same dilemma as yours. I want to share a TV output to 4 TVs which are about 6 meters away (to 4 different rooms) from the main output TV. I dont wish to connecting them with long HDMI cables and yet I dont have any ethernet system, please advise what should I do ? Looking forward your kind response, thank you sir ^^

Unfortunately you will need to run some sort of cables regardless. If you want to use solution like me, you’d probably need to run Ethernet cables to each TV.
