SST rods are amazing for light surf fishing. I like to keep moving and throw 30-60g jigs or 1/4-1/2oz darter heads with plastics. Cover a lot of water, get some solid exercise, catch a lot of fish that way. Great content as usual, thanks man.

In North Carolina we call the striped ones sea mullet and the silver ones with a black tip virginia mullets. Their diets are somewhat the same. But the silver ones primarily feed on sand fleas and fresh shrimp. That's why you catch them right at the waters edge🎣💪🏾👊🏾
@Johnnyreengo

@EliasVFishing
@EliasVFishing Год назад
I called the Virginia mullet a sea mullet in this video. I didn’t know the specific difference in local terminology for the stripes vs silver until that clarification. I referenced the differences in the technical terms southern kingfish vs gulf.
@fishin2fit753
@fishin2fit753 Год назад
@EliasVFishing Yeah it's crazy they call them different names in different regions of the US. I'm from NC but live in virginia beach area and here they call them roundheads. In North Carolina it's sea mullets and down south they say ground mullets, kingfish or bull whiting

@@waterassassinfishingbuilds6122 If you go new or very new, the nissans are the way to go. I have heard, that the nissans kinda "fall apart" when they get past the 100,000 miles. Your mileage may vary. Good trucks, but I think taco's last longer.
@EliasVFishing
@EliasVFishing Год назад
@@secretjourney4815 I’ve heard that from others as well. I got 160,000 miles out of my last one without a single issue. I did start getting some rust spots forming and figured it was getting close to that time. Found a good one with 19,000k miles and went for round two.

I've started live lining northern kingfish for tuna and sharks off NJ. I'll hang them from the kite. It gets pretty hectic occasionally. The kingfish are the easiest to catch. I just stop in like 12ft of water in the absecon inlet with a sabiki and tip them with bloodworms on the bottom 4 hooks. I get 2 and 3 pretty often and they start lively in the well on long trips

I think when they do the beach replenishment they kill so many mole crabs or sand fleas (whatever you want to call them) and those a huge part of the forage for the fish that migrate along the coast. No bait no fish. Just my theory. It happens the same in De.
