Imagine being Marth and hearing that your own super-great-granddaughter not only broke your legendary weapon, but also called it the Pointy Demonspanker
To be fair, the first offense is apparently rather common, at least according to she and Owain's support chain. The blade itself is indestructible, but the hilt and handle aren't.
@@Minamoto130 It would be funny if Medeus ended up being the one begging to have its name changed back, just so he isn't known as the dragon who got beaten by something called "Pointy Demonspanker."
She’s always been geeky and awkward about it! I was screaming “ANNA NO” when Lucina said she liked those shirts because it reminded me of her support with her mom where she revealed she had VERY awful taste And in her support convo with her sibling, she’s scared of a cockroach
@@5h3nn0ng I think the more likely truth is that Risen are made from Thantanophaes, which are bugs that can reanimate a dead body. Awakening was made before echoes but I think that bit of lore could have been made in response
Many of the children raised during the apocalypse had what could generously be described as "quirks", conditions (Split personalities, hero complexes, etc.) acquired from the negligence of their parents and the trauma of living in the shadows. The writers dialed up Lucina's quirks in order to make her a good overall representative of Awakening.
"The world has fallen to hell, all of the adults are gone, and now me and a bunch of teenage morons have to save the world!" Lucina: "OMG. Lol. #Relatable!"
@@aradraugfea6755 "The very pillars of this world are shaken by forces unmeasurable, for death is only the release lest you save us from the darkness" Lucina: Ain't no way bruh
@@darkwolts wut?, How?, The only way M Robin can become part of the Exalted family is by either marrying Lissa or Lucina herself... And don't come to tell me that he is Luci"s second father, that's only a fanshipp
Inigo: What's so funny? Lucina: Kate Winslett was 22 when that movie was released. Inigo: So? Lucina: Leo usually waits til they turn 25 to ghost them!
Lucina's offbeat personality is easily the best execution of a character's gimmick in all of Fire Emblem. It's less one-note than a lot of them, and her high status combined with her capability of going full serious mode knocks people off-guard in a more natural and sincere way than the typical wacky interactions. It helps that she has a lot of dialogue to establish both her no-nonsense and quirky sides.
That's not how she loses money, it'd be by the other Annas from the other worlds imposing copyrights on their likenesses, making it so Anna can't sell those items without being sued. Interdimensional Copyrights is a Pandora's Box!!!
@@deathbykonami5487 I always assumed that all the Annas were secretly the same person. That she was some kind of merchant Goddess and these are the avatars she uses to interact with the mortal world. How else do you explain this omnipresent being that always exists everywhere across time and space in all worlds and dimensions, always with the same form and personality?
@@SonicFrake It's just how Anna works, Engage even has Awakening and Fates Anna showing up at the end to pick up baby Anna, so they are different people with weird genetics and a weird family tradition of naming everyone Anna
@@Emiturbina I read a novel once where a certain Goddess's avatars were born into the world like normal people with families. Thing is, they would always resemble the Goddess regardless of what their parents looked like. From there they'd live their own lives like normal until the Goddess needed to use them as a vessel for some reason.
@@TheEquestrianGallade Haven't gotten to play those ones. Hope there's a Switch port someday. I mostly meant Lucina from the clip, I'm not far enough in the game yet to see how all the Emblems were treated.
@@TheEquestrianGallade showing Micaiah as a ruthless sort wouldn't be great. The Emblems are supposed to be the characters as they are/were remembered by everyone around them, anyway.
She's not like that in Awakening. Lucina is kind of a dork, but she's a lot more serious in her game due to the future she comes from. She's basically Future Trunks (also voiced by kid Trunks in that game)
@Federico Palacios In her supports though, this is very much like her. Her sense of fashion is very infamous among her friends and I do remember how she disappointed her own cousin with her trying to rename Falchon... Mainly because of how bad it was. People tend to forget how dorky and silly Lucina can get in Awakening.
She does have some funny support with some characters she is just to worried about her father's future along with the other Shepards that died protecting her friends. It's so cute when she let's go and shows her cute dorky side
She is super serious in the main game, but all the supports shows hat she’s at least a little goofy. Like if FRobin didn’t marry Chrom, Lucina starts following her starting from,”You’re suspicious” to “how dare you not be attracted to my father.”
I love how even in awakening your first impresion of her is that she is very serious and straight forward, but support interactions reveal that she is just a little playful goofball, she is just a joyous youngster trapped inside a terrible war
You'd be surprised on what the Falchion almost become... If memory serves, a fruit cutter, a laundry pole, and what else? I wonder what Marth might be thinking when he found out.
was anyone going to tell me that Lucina was one of the best fictional characters or did RU-vid have to tell me that itself by recommending me this video
PTSD does that to people, but it showed through plenty in her supports despite that. It's the issue sometimes with the dichotomies the characters have between story and supports at times. It's why I think Camilla gets way too much hate because her supports actually make her a very well-rounded character, but on the surface she's a doting sister that immediately turns the depression and murder dials to 11 when Corrin is taken or threatened. So I don't fault people for the bad parts, it's just unfortunate because a lot of these characters have more depth than people give credit for at times. Anyways, yeah, Lucina I think was at least handled better, still kinda wish she actually showed how much trauma she had than she does, but she is plenty goofy because she never got to be in her timeline. But the Emblems in this seemed to have moved on from the worst of their past and merely remember it for life lessons like Sigurd.
@@perrygrimwood4901 Probably more similar to Chrom if anything. I feel like her goofier side is a reaction to her surroundings. She gets to be a kid finally with parents that are alive, so she's going to try and enjoy herself as much as she can. In a normal scenario she'd be raised by Chrom and her mother, so I think she'd still be more light-hearted than Chrom, but probably be a bit more crass or hold some other traits depending on her mom. Of course let's just try and ignore the existential crisis the kids have put their original selves through by basically deciding to make the not so shitty timeline their home. Meaning they are essentially their own siblings which is...an issue. >.>
God damn, I haven't touched the game yet until I get the time to play it but after all these years I still love Lucina, and her personality or whomever is writing this. Kudos to you my boi.
People complain about engage not being as serious as 3 houses but if you step back and admire how goofy and unserious this game is then it becomes a 10/10. Edit: Random but Lucina at 1:26 was basically me while playing this absolute masterpiece of a comedy.
Exactly. The game is so ridiculous in everything it does, it 180s to being amazing. The characters are pure fucking gold, the supports are the most wacko shit imaginable (safe for a few really nice ones, shout out to my girl Lapis), and just the idea alone of these legendary characters hanging out with the most unhinged cast to date is pure comedy gold. Oh, and the gameplay is phenomenal in this one, too
@@freezycastform99 engage has gameplay miles better than 3 houses. The story might be kinda cliche but at least the gameplay won’t put you to sleep (I have, in fact, fallen asleep while playing 3 houses)
I have a hard time enjoying it when it’s being all wacky but trying to be serious with its story. That and for every character I like, there seem to be 2 to 3 that are just too groanworthy to enjoy. All that aside, the gameplay is way better. More maps, not everyone spinning for their crit…it felt weird seeing Hubert do that. Lol
@@lilbirdmuse8938 I feel like the story is trying to be serious but it is so funny. I don’t necessarily think much if characters I don’t use but I’ve only played the game twice
I can’t really do that tbh. I don’t really care about gameplay too much in strategy rpg’s, so for me 3 Houses set a new standard for storytelling. Engage was 5 steps back
Well, when you come from an alternate future where everyone you loved is dead, walking corpses roam the streets and a giant evil dragon is using the castle you grew up in as his personal outhouse, you're bound to have a bit of an... unhinged sense of humour.
Owain: Lucina....don't call Falchion that! I told you that when we entered that other world! Robin: Owain, was Lucina always like that? Owain: Indeed! Behind that cold mask lied the face of a....yes...she was like that always. Robin: I see....So silliness runs in Chrom's bloodline since Owain and Lucina are like this. Chrom: You say something Robin? Robin: No...just was wondering what name would Owain call Falchion. Owain: Oh! You are interested in the Divine mind of the wise Owain Dark!? Well let me tell you names I would have called it.
I've only just met her and done her paralogue so far and she seemed pretty normal This video makes me realise there must be some sort of rabbit hole to her unhinged personality
She comes from a post-apocalyptic future timeline where the Fell Dragon, Grima, has taken over her world, decimating it & her parents & all her friends' parents are dead. They all travelled back in time to stop that future from occurring & save their parents. It was very traumatising for them all, but especially Lucina as she had to lead them all as they grew up in that future timeline without their parents to guide & protect them.
So Pit can make her laugh with anything? Pit: Yes, but not by my jokes...But me getting my wings burnt by accident. *Pit gets flames on his wings* Pit: Ahhhh!! Lucina: *Tries not to laugh...Laughs Anyway*
