NEVER DO THESE IN OTHER COUNTRIES Comparison

Traveling is a lot of fun until you do something that will land you in hot waters. Every country, and every city for that matter, has its own customs and rules. We did a quick search to reveal the most embarrassing and/or rude ways you can get yourself in trouble. Here are some of the things you should not do in these countries.
One rule of thumb for any traveler is to never assume that just because tipping, for example, is considered the norm in the U.S. that it’s OK in other parts of the world. Also, what you may know as the universal sign for OK is actually an insult in some places such as Turkey.
It is possible for you not to understand the local custom because you don’t have the same cultural background as the people from the country you are visiting. However, you should never make fun of any local custom, tradition, or event.
Just as you wouldn’t like foreigners to laugh at you and whatever holidays and customs you have in your country, you should always respect the local culture. Instead, keep an open mind and try to discover the root of that specific tradition.
One of the most important things you need to know when mastering the culture of the country is what you should not do in that country. Yes, there are things that you should never do in these foreign countries.
Some countries have some traditions and prohibitions that, if not following them, can cause negative impacts. These traditions and prohibitions are so nationalized that if you do not follow them, you can be punished, face pressure, and even be deported.
Get to know the things you should avoid doing in these foreign countries in our video today.

I can give another one for Finland. If you have a meeting at let's say 9:00, do not arrive at 9:00. You should always arrive earlier. I usually arrive 10 minutes before and sometimes maybe even 20. You should never ever be late and therefore even 20 minutes isn't that bad of a waiting time. I have had times when someone has come a few minutes late (like 3 for example) and I have been in a huge panic on where the person is. This kind of rule applies everywhere from anything professional to even meeting your friends. Always arrive early.

Here from Chile, i can confirm that eating fries with hands is not seen as mannerless. In Chile we eat a lot of things with our hands like completos (hot dogs), empanadas (it is a crime to not eat them with your hands) and all kinds of sandwiches. This still applies to some foods, but everything that can be eaten with your hands rather cleanly is not considered mannerless.

Taiwan, knock to not startle the spirits? I’m Taiwanese and even I don’t know that… I mean I know there are a lot of rules during the month of the spirits but knocking? Never heard of it. Also no vertical chopsticks in rice because the chopstick looks similar to a incense. The spirits would misunderstand that you’re offering food to them. And if you eat it, you’ll piss them off.

Venezuela: WHAT DID I TELL YOU ABOUT COMING TO DINNER ON TIME😠😠😠
@carlosdasilva2409
@carlosdasilva2409 2 года назад
Venezuelan here, it depends on the family, but it's true. Also, don't stay/visit at breakfast, lunch, or dinner time. It is considered that you are visiting only to grab a bite. You would be forcing your hosts to serve you a meal so they save face. But that extra portion can leave someone without a proper meal. (It didn't use to be like that, we used to happily serve our guests a delicious, warm meal). If you are invited to eat or have at snack at someone's house and accept the meal DON'T LEAVE right after eating. Wait a bit, chat with your hosts for a bit I'd recommend half an hour or 15 minutes to not be seen as rude.
