Ironically, those who correct your English without kindness probably only speak one language. According to U.S. military Joint Targeting Doctrine, the difference between a shot going wild or wide is based on target movement. If you miss a moving target, its wild. You go wide if you miss a stationary target. Great video and good hunting!

@Baradul I'm over 50yrs old, and I've heard a LOT of native-English speakers mispronounce words. You are doing better than a large number of Americans I've met.

A shot 'going wild' and a shot 'going wide' are both correct. It depends more on the style you want. To say a shot went wide went you miss right or left is literal. A miss in any direction could be described as a wild shot, but that is speaking in a figurative sense - you aren't actually going wild but you're not completely under control either. I wouldn't put too much stock in people commenting on your English. I respect your desire to improve, but you're English is close enough to technical perfection as it needs to be. Speaking is as much about style and building your own identity through the consistent use of unique phrases. You actually do a wonderful job of this already.

'Shot went wild' is as valid as 'shot went wide'

As a native English speaker a shot going “wild,” is just as valid a term as a shot going “wide.” Not sure who’d be upset with you about that.

I wouldn't worry about your English as you speak the Language better than most English speakers so people shouldn't be getting angry. You are understood which is good enough. If you want to improve your English then good for you. Continue with the good work.

Newer players should study baradul's comments when entering the brawl. (game 2 against the Thanny) He usually CALMS DOWN and makes assessments. This is a veteran move and cannot be overlooked.

Hi Bara, about not being a native speaker I feel you. I noticed something in your video that I am trying to correct, and I only noticed because my wife told me. " I didn't knew better " is wrong, because the past tense is already present in the " didn't ", so the correct thing to say is " I didn't know better ". I have been told that most non native speakers struggle with this one, now you know. Good luck and keep up the good work.

I have watched most all of your daily dose through the years. I would like to say, your english is very good and more than sufficient.

Shots can go both "wild" and "wide". Wild means that it went in a random direction from the intended target. Wide means that it went off to one side or the other. So, depending on the shot, both can be correct. Wild shots also have the connotation that you didn't aim as carefully as you could have.

I believe the actual terms are "wild shot" and "shot went wide". First one meaning that it was hastily aimed and missed. The latter being you attempted to aim, but missed (usually horizontally). Though, a "shot went wild" would be more along the lines of you aimed, it should have hit, but an uncontrollable variable caused it to scatter unexpectedly. Semantics aside, all three are viable options of simply just saying "I missed". Keep on keeping on, Baradul. Your English is fine and it's always fascinating to hear quips and phrases change and evolve between language barriers.

Who in their right mind is getting angry at the way he talks? I don't think I've ever had a problem understanding anything he's said in these videos.

This is a great Vanguard build. I have the same on mine. If you can keep from getting focused, you can do over 1000 damage no problem. Pretty hot before skilled up, thought. I've put a good handful of highlights of this mech and build in action on my Twitch channel because I tend to have good games in it. :) Incidentally, I had my original idea for that mech from a previous Baradul video that was very similar but with an LPL instead of ERPPC. Ran it that way for a while, but changed to an ERPPC eventually because it's hard to sync UAC's with lasers.

Don't ever listen to angry haters when they tell you something is wrong. Getting pop english colloquialisms (maybe even intentionally) wrong is one of the most entertaining parts about watching international RU-vidrs, and even more entertaining (IMO) when you have a thick German accent. In fact, I think it would be awesome if you translated some German colloquialisms to english and started using those! LSS- You're doing a great job

Saying your shot went "wild" or "wide" is correct. They're both commonly used terms that basically mean the same thing.

Wide and wild are both perfectly valid - wide implies that it missed to one side rather than low/high, while wild implies that it missed badly.

Cat K2 with 2 ER PPC and 2 light PPCwith full cooldown and heat trees = murder machine. Can 2xPPC infinitely and do a full (staggered)alpha two to three times at extreme range. The unique part vs. 3 ER PPC is that you can tap/chain fire an indefinite salvo and light up ECM or engage mobile threats!

"Wide" or "Wild" mean different things in the details, but if we aren't being pedantic then either are fine.

Nice build Bara. Bigger Clan mechs can do without using all of their hard points sometimes. Things get pretty hot if you cram that many weapons onboard. Your use of 'wide' makes me happy. Now you don't sound like a 13 year old :p . Seriously though. Those kinds of word choice errors are often ignored by zoomers, but I'm sure you looked it up and saw what the 'more common' expression is. Ur awesome regardless of the words you choose Bara . :)

Help you improve your English you say? Well, since you asked. There is one thing you do quite a bit and did it even in this video. When you say something like "I'm going to get shred." It should really be "I'm going to get shredded." Wheel the sentence around though and say "This guy is going to shred me." and you're fine. Because English sucks. Love ya, Bara. I would only say Wide if I mean to specify too much or not enough lead on a moving target. Otherwise, any miss is a wild shot. When you say “let’s build this thing together” do you mean you will be sharing the building process on camera with your viewers; or do you mean assembling the parts of a mech to make a whole mech???

I'm going to agree with the majority, shot went wild is perfectly acceptable; not sure why people are rude about language sometimes, it's the internet I suppose. Speaking on language, what are the chances of having a Daily Dose auf Deutsche? I wanted to request that for episode 100 but never got around to it.

Actually, your use of "shot went wild" is valid when used as a chance/snapshot. www.finedictionary.com/Wild%20shot.html "Shot went wide" can be used as well to denote a shot missed wide of it's target. And your English is great, give yourself more credit. I lived in Australia, your use of English is A- in my standard compared to Native Speakers. I cannot tell you are non native if I first met you.

Shot went wide means you missed slightly... Shot went wild you are nowhere near the target. Absolutely nothing wrong with it.. but your shots never go wild.. lol

Shot went wild will make you sound like an American. Shot went wide or shot went wild are both perfectly acceptable in American English and both are used. So, if you want to sound like a Yank... ;-)

In terms of constructive criticism, "bring it to the end" is a weird phrase in English because the game will inevitably conclude, almost regardless of anyone's actions. It would be more correct to say something along the lines of somebody carrying the game - as in being 'the carry' as derived from MOBA's where the role of primary damage dealer is called 'the carry', which in turn is derived from the concept of somebody being able to carry a team to victory. Other roles may be more critical and better played from time to time, but it is the primary-damage-dealer who's generally the focus in these terms. Having said that, declaring that you are carrying a team to victory is generally considered pretty egotistical & poor form, even if it is true. "Bring it to the end" is handy from the point of view that we all know what you mean & it encapsulates a bunch of praise that can essentially be implied. I guess the most correct English version would be to praise the general and specific performance of others who are 'carrying it to the end' or to express your hope for a given player or confidence in them. There's an approximate Americanism about "bringing it home" or its more southern variant "bring it on home" that more closely resembles your phrase. I can't recall the last time that I heard anyone use that phrase though, I'm pretty sure it fell out of fashion with the decline of wild-west & similar TV shows.

LB2's are the most efficient DPS weapon for their range, you can load 4 on a sunspider and add an energy weapon to soak up some heat capacity.
