this story is bs, why don't we reattach arms like she said in 3:58 to people who lost theirs?. because doctors are liars and she is the goddess of truth
suh dude reaattaching limbs are not so uncommon in medical situations, as long as it’s kept fresh and in good shape. Obviously you can’t reattach severely damaged limbs back to your body. (Caused by explosions for example, or because of a disease) 🙄
No anime figure is 1k and most bootlegs are literally of prize figures that are worth about the same cost as the original figure. Come the fuck on, bsffr.
if they want to stop bootlegs, they should lower the prices, if it is 8 times more expensive i will buy the bootlegs Also if you think this video is real, you should watch less anime...
Bootlegs exist because some figures go offsale and never see the light of day again. I mean seriously, no one's going to pay 100+ for a small tiny figure from 2008.
@@Lennodinthewrongvocaloid fucking real I never buy bootleg figure in my whole collection of figure, but recently I search for the botw link nendroid and my gosh the re seller and original seller put a high price 150-200€ for a little figure + the shipping no way I prefer buy a collector or an hot toys. The bootleg is 12€ on aliexpress and the deluxe 17€ and no shipping so I really consider buying my first bootleg figure (I would buy the original one if it was 50€ or little more)
The reason why the prices are high is because the time it takes for the sculptors to make a figure is a long process. Every detail is thought out. There are two really good videos on youtube. Palo's tour/day in the life of good smile and good smile's how nendoroids are made. I see excuses that "it's ok to buy a bootleg" or "I'm using it for a custom" and the common "it doesn't matter it's fake" excuse. I only ever bought one bootleg by figure by accident not knowing. In fact, most my early anime collection merchandise is bootlegs because I didn't know and not only afterwards did I find the truth. However, I try not to support bootlegs if I can avoid it. I look at details and flaws within the figure. There are cheap figures that aren't bootlegs with paint flaws- usually crane game prizes. That's the only exception I've come across. Otherwise most real figures have excellent sculpts, detailed paint jobs and are well crafted. You can come across figures on sale those or buy used figures which if coming from japan are in excellent condition mostly. So it is possible to come across cheap real figures.
@@UrSammich I'm pretty sure people wouldn't buy bootlegs if not for the nendoroid being offsale for over a decade and never brought back since. Pretty good example for the len append and len cheerful version nendoroid. They sell for 100$ on ebay and that's not to mention the shipping. I'm sure if the nendoroid on the actual site was onsale people wouldn't mind paying 30$+ for it.
@UrSammich exactly! Even I buy official nendoroids when Good Smile puts out sales and discounts. Saves money and gets you quality products. I had bootleg nendoroids once and they break easily.
I agree that the after market for scalpers sucks, but if you pressure GSC enough, they do rereleases often. There is always a chance, don't succumb to fakes.
Yeah but it is not guaranteed and even if they do rerealese it the price is still pretty high, I'm only gonna get 1 or 2 bootlegs of figma figures: Joker (Persona 5) and Deku (My hero academia) Mainly because it save me like €45-€60 most of the time
i have only ONE bootleg in my Nendoroid collection: Cleaning Levi. My mother gifted it to me, i love him so much. but he is nothing compared to my original Levi Nendoroid.
Not to mention that a lot of real figures inflate in price after retail because the companies decide to discontinue the product and there aren't enough figures to go around. If they want us to stop buying bootlegs, provide us with more product.
@@rirururu4697 exactly for ex I am bought an official shf naruto best selection cost me 50 dollars but I want collect the rest of the line but the median price is 250 so I’m stuck. I just bought 2 bootleg sage mode naruto figures which cost me about 24 dollars I’m going to use the accessories for these figures for my original to kind of get sage mode naruto for the price of 75 dollars so I’m have an official figure with two bootlegs with official quality accessories and 2 extra figures that I can easily fix to make them near original quality so If I repeat this process 3 more times that would be like me buying the original sage mode naruto. That’s ridiculous. So I could get -12 figures with 4 being official -8 rasenshurikens -8 rasengan a - extra figs for shadow clones -24 kunai -56 hands -32 faces -8 scrolls -8 robes -8 figure stands I can use these extra to customize and even make them better so not only and I getting my money’s worth it is surprisingly way more valuable than buying the original figure despite buying some originals

Hell yeah he deserves fakes. He deserves them for 10$. It's called a purchase. Considering those same companies keep using the factory that are clearly stealing from them, sometimes even producing extras to sell on the side, they deserve to be stolen from too. Not to mention how nobody is talking about the fact that they cost 5x more despite not being 5x better. Turns out the thieves are less greedy... who would have guessed, huh.
Give money to scam artist, thieves, killers and mobsters who just steal idea from others or give money to the original artist who work tirelessly hard to make the stories and artwork that we grew to love, To the original sculptor whose skill made the master figure, to the modellers who design and color them and to the company who invest time, money and resources to produce these fine products to sell to the market. If you even have to think about it then your hopeless.
@@inisipisTV You buy gas don't you? You buy groceries and clothes from major retailers don't you? Go ahead and look up the scale figures of the more popular characters, prices are always inflated in order to take advantage of suckers like you. It's great to want to support the artists, but doing it because you think you owe them something is exactly what they want you to think. Do you have any sources for that story? It seems very unbelievable to me, and I was trying to fact check, and I couldn’t find anything about threats to Aki-san or his employees.
@@takyon9167 with no articles and fact checks online it would obviously be a made up story just for views... yes, the original ones are still better than bootlegs but there will always be pros and cons for everything...
I was trying to look stuff up as well, even on his and Good Smile's Wikipedia page and nothing is mentioned at all and you think there would be some kind of report of Aki-San being targeted by a mob. If some random dude was attacked because he looked like Aki-san, and "his arms was entirely cut off" as she said, there would be a lot of articles about this. Especially if a Chinese mob attacked a man with swords and knives. I'm calling entire bullshit on this story, you can tell she is lying because of how she glances off onto the side to think of her extreme story (ex. "They attacked him, cutting him up and slicing him *pauses and glances off*, his arm was cut off."). Like she needed to think about if he actually did have his arm cut off or not. Her story trying to scare people out of buying bootlegs is completely false as there isn't a single source, nor a report or anything mentioning her claims. I get bootlegs are bad, but to lie and say a man had his arm cut off and beaten up over an anime figure mold. That isn't okay at all. She went way too extreme for a story with no sources.
Only saving $10 to $15 on a bootleg figure, are you kidding me! Try $300+, in some cases even more. We don't all have 60k to blow on figures. So for many people these bootlegs are a damn blessing. It gives us poor people a chance at having a collection of our own. Even if the quality isn't as good. We still appreciate the fact that we can have our favorite characters in figure form at a very reasonable price. You know just how expensive the originals are, they are so over priced. I say keep the bootlegs coming :)

I agree. I want to purchase the offcial product since im skeptical on designs and quality. But sometimes i need to save money for other expense so i decided to buy bootleg.
"These bootleg creators think you are dumb" - Yeah sure, I bet the creators of the original ones making me pay 200 bucks for the "real" thing think I am really smart.

FACT:If the bootlegs had an toxicallity to them they'd be apprehended at the port or postal station they came from by the local bag claim. All packages from China/Asia go through a scanner and a tester to test for this, its why customs takes so long with foreign packages. Also FACT: Not everyone is rich and can afford legit figures.

She literally tries to manipulate us like 9y olds with what she says at the end. None of what she said had any basis in proof or logic. We're just supposed to take her word for a story that would definitely get a lot of media attention.
codec69 I put FACT there because it supposed to be a joke since the guy above me used the word Fact too... However, like i said as a normal functional adult u would be able to save up for your hobbies and its true that you should not give your money to criminals since those bootlegs are not from the original factory. This story is well known either so yeah... dont buy bootlegs
Even before I worked for them I would never support a bootleg. I support artists, creators and their hard work. You should too if you enjoy their work.
10/15$ difference? more like 100$ difference! and I'm not exaggerating. I buy bootlegs because I can't afford the originals and for most the difference in detail is not that big (it's true that some are horrendous but definitely not all). The originals are way overpriced. I love details but I get what I can afford. If in the future I'll be able to afford originals I'll definitely buy them. Some people are not doing that great financially and I think is important to take that in consideration.
144 dollars, lmao nope ill take the 25 dollar one whose joints are a little loose just a little touch ups and its good. Still buying original products tho. Im hoping to get the Mezco symbiote spiderman PX.
I can tell by your Massive Collection, along with the Super EXPENSIVE GLASS CASES Behind you That you can buy Whatever you want. And you are telling people who absolutely love Collecting not to buy bootlegs.
The sad Ruth is that if the factory worker were paid more to make the figures they would not have the need to work with the criminals... what pisses me off about bootlegs is that some sellers actually try to pass them off as an original figure charging the same price and even making the box look left with the authencity stickers and all. Not Cool at all. 😡
No one is going to hate you you are right good smile company wants you to spend money on a 10cm figure for 300 or 200 on that they are the real criminals
Choosing a $500 piece of plastic or it's $30 knock-off on Wish.... the choice is easy. Differences are barely noticeable most of the time, maybe a few odd paint jobs, but certainly not worth paying the extra hundreds of dollars. I'd support the real company if they'd lower their prices
Yeah if that story were real, you could link to it. Given how you haven't, i'm gonna go and say no. Secondly: good people making figurines? They're workers at a company. They dont even get paid a lot, they're just factory workers like any other factory workers. The people getting my money are the companies who license those figures. The same companies who keep doing buisiness with factories that make extra figures to sell on the side and compete with them cause getting them made in the US or elsewhere would cost too much money. Thirdly: it isn't 10-15$, it's a lot more and from the sound of it, my money will go to the wrong people who haven't earned it no matter who I give it to. The actual people making those figures get the least of it and they get the same amount no matter how many figures sell. Plus, they themselves were "stealing from themselves" in exchange for money.
Not to mention how "those evil people think you're dumb". Oh and the licensed retailer who sells me almost the same thing for x5 the price the "criminal" would be happy getting, obviously think I have 3 Phd's.
The Chinese company sells for cheap and for decent quality, not to mention that these Japanese company benefit themselves by selling for extremely expensive and most of their factories are located in China. In the end, honestly... I would be happier buying a fake figures because it satisfies me since it’s cheap and the quality is still pretty good. My money is going to the company that has families or what not, so I honestly don’t even care who it’s going to. The official figures aren’t even worth 100+. It’s all about brand names..
bootleg and original.. there are tiny differences .. i wouldnt pay 300 for a figure.. i mean id buy the bootleg one for 12 and be happy with it... i mean the difference isnt soo much world changing ...
So many people who are dead-set against bootleg figures act as if the differences between the real and fake figures are monumental. They're really not. Bootlegs are, on average, about 80% of the way there if not higher. Yes, some of them are made of worse compounds and break easily, but figures tend to be fragile to begin with. It's a steep premium to buy legitimate figures when all you're paying for is a sub-20% difference in quality that most people don't care about. A comparable example would be comparing store brand cereal to name brand, if name brand cost 4-5 times as much as the store brand. No one in their right mind would justify that price difference when the store brand was close enough.
@@Tamarocker88but they are realy big deferences. I used to buy bootleg dragon ball figures (because i dident know they were fake) and the face always looked messed and the pain was always realy bad. I do agree most new figures are very pricy but there exist cheeper official options prize figures are getting realy good lately and they are realy afordable. Also bootlegs may be made from toxic plastic so its best to not buy them
I always try to purchase original figures, but since I recently started getting into the hobby, there are too many figures I want that are no longer available and the ones selling on ebay are incredibly expensive plus the shipping to my country + the taxes(I live in South America) makes it worse, so in these cases as I really do want the figure and after looking for it everywhere without finding it, I just buy a bootleg. As I said I always try to look and investigate to buy the original but sometimes it's just not possible:')
Actually I get to save much more by buying used authentic figures. They usually go for cheaper prices than high quality bootlegs... you just have to have a keen eye in detecting any damage/scratch in the figure as well as distinguishing fakes from the original. It also helps if you buy from reliable sellers with good ratings in the second-hand market.
I'm 12 and I have a ton of bootlegs cause I can't afford the originals but I don't care if the one that made them are criminals I just want cheap figures so I can save money for other things
Yeah its totally fake. If you pay attention and ask yourself more questions and think reasonably, it's VERY obvious it's fake. If you look at other comments they make valid points why it's fake. I would get into it but almost everything sounds like BS. So don't sweat it! Plus, even if you bought authentic figures it still wouldn't be going into the creators of the mold, or even the series creators. If you really want to see if YOU are okay with bootlegs, then I suggest watching other videos and doing research to make an informed decision. After all, it's up to the individual.
I don't know what is funnier, people implying that buying a bootleg will poison you and make you fund mafias or people acting like they will die if they don't get a cheap piece of plastic with a high probability of looking like shit lol
I ve got I scamm of like 180$ with some one piece figures . I payed like 35$ each (I bought like 5 of them) and after that I found that all of them were fakes . So , after that I ve gotten angry and I stopped carring about the fact if they are bootlegs or not :) They are just made by a different company and there are not a lot of differences if u dont buy like one figure with 3$ . Now I usually buy them from aliexpress with 15$ each and I am very happy with them . Lets say that there are 2 differences between the original ones and fake ones : the box which I dont care for and the facial expressions . Which can be pretty annoying for some figures , because they differ a little more , but I have 1 figure which looks exactly like the original one , just the box is looking shitty , but overall it looks awesome . So I cant see your point of view very good .
Dont get me wrong, bootlegs are ugly. But have you thought that not many people can afford authentic figures? For example in China, the reason there is a huge market is because not many people can afford the real ones. I have lots of friends in China who said they want to buy real figures but they can't afford it. Buying bootlegs somewhat works for them too. Personally i hate bootlegs too, but im lucky that i live in NA where earning decent money isn't a problem.
@@kogitsunehayashi7822 I could care less about giving money to people who stole. It's not like not giving them money is going to make it stop anyways. I say if the general product fits pretty close to what the original is supposed to be then it doesn't really matter.

+Kogitsune Hayashi You see, its because you can afford to choose. Many people can't afford to buy these figures. sometimes these figures are 1/3, 1/2 or even their entire months salary. Yes bootlegs are bad, but who are we to judge.
The idea is that one shouldn't knowingly buy a fake, if you can't afford a figure, don't buy it. Don't resort to buying a fake that is made with dangerous and toxic chemicals just to have something. It looks ugly, doesn't support any creators and is just a waste of your hard earned money to begin with. If it already is a hardship to buy a real item, why would you waste that hard earned money on a fake?
My main 2 problems with bootlegs is that your not supporting the actual people who make the originals and the creator of the thing you like. My other problem is that bootlegs could have very dangerous chemicals and stuff :| if u are gonna buy a bootleg, (which I obviously don’t recommend but i understand if you wanna save money, real figures are quite a lot, you do you.) I’d say look at the reviews before hand. ^-^
Yes it is understood that limited edition runs of figures will cost more when they are produced. There are various costs to produce the good however it comes down to what the market will value for the (Figures) in general. Ultimately there is a lot of competition and high quality lower priced figures will sell more. $25-$50 is more manageable from a consumer standpoint than $120-$300+ dollars. People don't have a problem spending the former and have quite a difficult time with the latter as that amount falls directly into fixed costs range (Rent/Utilities/Car Maintenance/ etc). Distributors must know this and work to reduce costs with stakeholder involved to reflect market demand however they can . Banpresto for instance has made some high quality figures at affordable prices (Around $25). That's how you do it. People won't have problems buying official for that price but $160 for a megahouse figure is clearly out of most people's range. Give the consumers what they want. If you build it they will come.
Girl not all bootlegs are bad. The bootleg nendoroids are amazing almost like the original. I’ll still collect bootlegs because the figures I want are overpriced because of the charracter and the pose and I’ll only buy the real figures that I want and there isin’t a bootleg version of it. Sure the smell can be awfull on some bootlegs but the bootleg sometimes can be the next best thing. The only real figures and nendoroids I concider buying are the Zero Two nendoroid, the Yuri Plisetsky nendoroid, Emma, Norman and Ray from the promised neverland figures. That’s pretty much it. I don't care if I'm "giving my money to criminals" and supporting the bootleg market. The whole reason the bootleg market exists to begin with is because of the high prices of legitimate figures and the limited quantities that further exacerbate the pricing. If someone wants to buy a figure past the original presales and launch, they're SOL and stuck digging through the secondary market for one at an upcharge. If you're looking for a figure that was produced years ago, you're going to be shelling out a small fortune. And you dare sit on your high horse talking down to everyone as though they are awful people for choosing reasonably priced bootlegs over exorbitantly priced originals at inflated prices?! If the original creators produced higher quantities and lowered the prices of figures, people would be buying the legitimate figures instead. I am not interested in paying $100+ for a figure (and that's assuming I pre-order the figure several months to a year in advance), nevermind paying the absurd inflated price of the same figure in its limited quantities if I happen to desire it years later. Still not good enough? Well then maybe YOU are willing to buy all legitimate figures for me? Oh, that's a no as well? Then stfu and let me buy what figures I want.
That's a shitty attitude. You'd rather give money to criminals because you think legitimate goods are over-priced? Knock offs aren't just an inferior product that you have a right to buy. They are intellectual propery theft. A decent person would be ashamed to support criminal activity just to save them selves a few bucks and some inconvenience.
@@drewlovelyhell4892 I'd rather purchase a bootleg product at a fair price from a "criminal" than to pay for the legitimate product when it is deliberately produced in limited quantities and only available for a limited time. Manufactured scarcity is just as criminal as intellectual property theft, in my opinion. As a matter of fact, not all countries regulate intellectual property. It's widely known that China greatly embraces copycat products, with copyright and IP protections being practically nonexistent. If someone else is able to make the same product at a lower cost while cutting corners, taking business away from you, whose fault is that really? If you want to support the original manufacturers and play into their limited availability artificial scarcity scheme, be my guest. Unlike the cunt in this video, I'm not telling other people what to do. Live and let live. I don't appreciate being told I shouldn't buy bootleg figures when it's my life and my wallet.
@@cottoncandy1744 I think they're overpriced if you miss the pre-order window or can't buy them right at launch for MSRP. I think it's fair to charge $50 for the typical nendoroid or even the few hundred at launch for large highly detailed figures. The countless hours of design, production, painting, manufacturing all deserve compensation. The thing I have an issue with, is the limited production numbers and the extremely hiked secondary market pricing once a figure is out of production. It's unreasonable to expect people to pay several times the price for a figure that's out of production when a bootleg is a fraction of the release price. It gives people an alternative to paying greedy scalpers.
could be real - a guy could have mistaken a machete for a sword. They're common intimidation weapons globablly because they're common farming and landscaping implements.
Good advice. Another major reason to not buy bootlegs is that they are often made with highly toxic materials, which jeopardizes the health of those who get tricked into buying them.
@@howagirlfiguresFrances I think you will find most PVC figures (regardless of the source) are the same in that regard. That 'new toy smell' people love is actually a concoction of dangerous chemicals off-gassing from the figure. That smell is on the most expensive figures down to the cheapest bootlegs
As victim, I can tell you this. These bootleggers are cashing in on teenagers when they're early in their anime phases. At that age, I didn't know about bootlegs and legit merchandise. I bought bootleg Pokemon plushes and a bootleg Gohan DBZ figure. Years later as a more educated adult, I realized, I gave money to these criminals, who prey on gullible beginning anime fans. I hope that money isn't being used to hurt someone. (Most likely not)
I may or may have not accidentally gotten my uncle to buy a fake Sakura Miku bloomed in Japan bootleg. It has the Nendroid logo but not the Good Smile Company logo. Oops...
For figures like banpresto and stuff were they are already cheap yes you don't need to buy bootlegs but for figures like good smile were you can find figure for 150$... And not all bootlegs are "horrible", take for exemple the bootleg figma of Deku, not bad and looks pretty much the same as the real one and you find it for 10$ and the real one is more than 80$ on eBay...
Bootlegs are a LOT cheaper, especially for figures that are out of production. You'll be comparing hundreds of dollars for the original (and that's USED condition) with a brand new bootleg that is often less than $50. Most people buying figures that are out of production aren't supporting the original company to begin with since they have to buy the figure from an end customer who already bought it. Now, if you're talking about brand new figures, sure the price difference isn't huge, but the quality difference isn't that huge either. Comparing say a $50 bootleg to a $100 original, the original doesn't look objectively 100% better, so you're paying a steep premium for the difference in quality.
the bigger company who makes the figure, more overprice and lazy they make the figure.... meanwhile Prize Figure for $20 is a better solution instead buying overpriced scale figure for $150 with same detail.... the big company is getting lazier (like GSC) meanwhile the quality of Prize Figure and Bootleg is getting good (well bandai, taito, furyu is still big company tho) but at least they didn't charge the 9 inches less detailed figure for $150+
I collect One Piece figures, and I'd always want to buy official, but I'm always worried that I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a bootleg and an official...
Well the good thing is that there are a ton of one piece prize figures that only cost around 20-35 maybe even 50 dollars that are still very high quality. So bootlegs for one piece figures aren't really necessary when there are a ton of prize figures for cheap prices. For example I just paid $21 for a Carrot prize figure and it looks amazing!!! Prize figures are definitely worth worth money high quality and cheap.
3:47 I highly doubt that some poor factory worker would call the ambulance for a coworker in China when the person that calls is responsible for the ambulance charge. This entire story sounds bogus.
I accidentally just bought a bootleg, and there is barely a difference from the real product. Its looks amazing. The original was 450 dollars and mine was 100 dollars. Idc who the money goes to, and I am happy with what I have received. If you want to buy a bootleg and not waste large sums of money, buy a bootleg.

Its not your bussiness where the persons spend the money! You have money to spend a hot toy figure? I don t think so...because you are a otaku!
I don’t care, if someone wants to buy it cheap for decent quality then buy it. Usually official ones are almost the same quality but sells for way expensive, it’s not even worth it
Plagiarism is still a crime though, how would you feel if someone traced your art and made really ugly versions of it as knockoff products and sold it under your name? Copyrights and DMCA exist to protect properties and that includes figures too, buying bootlegs supports crime because the people who own those places are making their workers create badly made products that end up falling apart, bootleg figures melt and end up breaking because they're made of interior materials and the PVC is weaker than a real figure so either way bootlegs are not a good alternative and if they were people wouldn't need to scam new collectors into thinking they're buying a real figure and overcharging for some cheap bootleg. The workers are not criminals imo because they just need the money and they probably have no idea if they're bootlegs so I doubt she's calling them criminals.
No one said that you have to! There are a TON of options to get figures for under $30 that are real, and stunning! Check out Furyu, Good Smile Company's Pop up Parade and Sega Prize figures. All reasonably priced and really good quality for your money!
So I should pay a figure that cost 300 dollars or 600 dollars when the price originally was 80 dollars ? 🤣😂. That’s another reason why people buy bootlegs bcz the original figure are way to expensive which is not worth it. The original company seller needs to reproduce so this things won’t happen. There’s no way I’ll pay 600 for a figure that original price was 80 dollars.
That's why some companies reprint their figures, I bought 2 that came out again earlier this year when they came out in 2016 so the demand is there but it just depends on the brand
A person who doesn't have enough money for a original figure But he or she wants it but too many prize than he or she able to buy What they gonna do They gonna buy bootlegs Buying a bootlegs is not a mistake on my opinion The people who are blaming bootlegs for action are the worst . Why bootlegs are still producing? Because people want it and they know buying bootlegs are not good. But the movement when they process a figure of their favorite character make them feel pleasure. At least they have bootlegs is better than they have nothing. All these are just my options .
sorry lots of people cant afford to pay hundreds of dollars on figures...... even if i spend lots of money on authentic figures not everyone can do that and at the end of the day i just get figures because i like the character and like something nice on my shelf. shaming people in this vid and replying to their comments for how they spend THEIR money is honestly mad weird to me
Easy, the same way I would have when I was your age, look for a way to make money. I washed cars in my neighborhood for $10 a pop, collect cans my parents bought to take them to be recycled and other odd jobs around the house I convinced my parents to pay me for. But honestly, at 11, you shouldn't be in this hobby. It's an expensive hobby and buying bootlegs just opens you up to problems down the line. It'll be junk you have that you'll just end up tossing cause they are so bad anyways. A true collector will save all their money for a real figure. You're not a collector if all you want is a piece of plastic on your shelf and can't wait to get the real deal.
@@howagirlfiguresFrances being a true collector becuz ur buying the true figurine isnt worth it. All of it is a piece of junk anyways that contributes to the pollution in this world. Its worthless to buy a figurine that costs a lot of money. U dont know everyones situation and you cant force someone the way i cant force u
@@howagirlfiguresFrances if your 11, you don’t get a figure to support the company, you get it because you want a figure version of a certain character. So as long as the bootleg is usable why spend $400 for some dumb anime thing
I'll continue buying bootlegs until Figmas and Nendos stop costing ridiculous prices. They were already expensive before, then they made the figures more expensive. Fuck Goodsmile.
10 to 15 bucks cheaper? Recently I bought a bootleg Mirage NECA TMNT 4 pack for 69 dollars. The actual legitimate figures go for 900 to 1,000 dollars. I ain't the sharpest knife in the drawer but that's alot more than 15 dollars, that's almost my entire wallet from a good payday. I'd rather pay 69 dollars for 4 figures that look 1:1 like the figures but not exactly the same than pay my entire paycheck on legit ones
Ah yes, I'm sure the anime and figure artists are loosing out on so much money from the limited edition figures that are sold for triple the price on the secondhand market. edit: only now listened to the story in the video, this is so ridiculously hilarious lol.
I remember believing this story back in the day and hearing it now just makes it sound like something from movie. And the part where she asks the viewer is it worth saving a few bucks to get a bootleg just makes me say yes now. (EXCLUDING BEYBLADE THAT’S A WHOLE OTHER CAN OF WORMS) Infact, I was considering getting a bootleg Miku figma at one point due to it’s price, and if I find a bootleg of the Build Strike Galaxy Cosmos, you bet I would want one.
Get off your high horse. I buy bootleg transformers, action figures and couldn't be happier with the products. Here's the thing. Hasbro takara continue to reduce scale, simplify engineering, reduce paint apps and replace with low quality paper stickers, and even make the plastic thinner, but for this they INCREASE the price. Not a business model I will support. Third party companies a reverse engineering molds, increasing scale /over sizing, putting so much paint detail and achieving near screen accurate deco, and also innovating the mold and improving the design. For a fraction of the cost of the official. More figure for less money. It's the intelligent option. Take for instance the recent nbk ko of gravity builder devastator, which is 6 transformers for almost £800 ballpark. The kos are £15 each and look just as good for a display piece. I'm quite sick of elitist collectors, happily shelling out money on ever decreasing quality official product. The only way big companies will listen is if we speak with our wallet. The power of the primes transformers line is shit.but official only collector's still buy, and it makes the company think people are happy to pay more, for a smaller figure, with less paint and engineering. So nothing changes. Kos and bootlegs are there for the savvy collector. And their not "criminals". Kos are produced in the same factory, by the same machine operators and staff. It's using extra plastic or pieces produced not required from the order, or produces after manufacturing hours, or figures that were produce as a pre production test line.not intended for sale. You really need to research more before you start preaching. Reviewers opinions aren't valid anyway, because it's bought or paid off, by the companies who send you product for free after you hump their leg long enough. Nothing wrong with kos/bootlegs. Official products change their code of prectice then I would happily buy it. But right now ko market is a much more interesting and thriving market. Your elitism is causing you to miss out. Transformers, marvel legends, marvel select and figuarts bootlegs are all fine for display pieces. I recommend them
I like how the people who are for bootlegs actually know more about the figure industry, the process and bootlegs themselves than the elitists preaching against it. Not to mention it's the side with actual arguments and logics rather than "theft bad, make people sad, don't buy, ok?".
If you want a cheaper alternative to figures I recommend 2nd hand figures. They’re a cheaper option and usually still have a good condition.Amiami.com is a good place to start ^^
@@brandon-qc1ul lol yeah I know but every figure I care enough about to spend that kind of money on is over $300 and anyone who’s seriously looking for a figure will try to find it regardless of my comment
