NEVER forget about prime Astralis. 

Astralis is basicaly the team which made cs looks how it actually looks today. They created all the metas. They created the actual game.

Absolute beast of a team - all of the players were just dominating.

The utilities use the timing and the gameplay is just perfect.

I remember when Astralis made nightmares out of every team who got into the major. Especially at the Faceit Major 2018.

Imagine getting absolutely nuked three rounds in a row while being a cs super star and without seeing a single opponent in those rounds. That’s how I’d imagine playing against prime Astralis, frustrating af

They completely innovated how cs is played. Never forget how they picked Vertigo against Liquid in the major semi final. Liquid was not prepared for that, they atuomaticaly won the map.

Damn i miss this team so much, but after hearing Zonics interview with Thorin, it was quite clear that this dominance couldn’t continue in the long run, cuz of how much work they had to put into it.

They were already 1-0 up in the vetos. You either ban Nuke and lose on Inferno or ban Inferno and lose on Nuke.

As much as I hated this team becuase of how many times they would beat 2019 liquid, can't help but recognize that they were the best team ever in csgo.

Going back and watching this, it's crazy how players just didnt know how to respond to all the lineups

NiP era was great, Fnatic era was epic, Astralis era was just on another level. They made viewing CS as a esport kinda boring since you knew they were gonna win everything they were in. And they did, for three years.

In someways, they dictated how CS is played by most teams these days, obviously not 100% but you get what i mean. Respect for what other rosters did, Fnactic, NIP etc. but this takes the cake. Doubt we'll ever see anything like this for a long time.

I want to wake up all of the delusional people in this comment section who actually think that Prime Astralis would beat any of today's CS teams and remind them that the game has evolved post-2018-2019 so much to the point that the current Astralis would beat them. When you say that Prime Astralis would beat any of today's best teams, you're not just saying that they'll win because of individuals, you're also saying that they'll win because of how they played the game, which is entirely different from how pro cs is played today. Regarding Prime Astralis, what mainly made them great wasn't their firepower, but their strats/calls and teamwork (especially when it came to their utility usage). The problem is that those strats/calls that made them dominant from 2018-2019 are now outdated, so if you put them against any of the top 30 teams today, they would get destroyed. If Prime Astralis somehow managed to beat any of today's teams, they would win because their individuals are in their prime, not because of their outdated strategies/calls. Also, during their era, they were so far ahead of their time (especially from the FACEIT Major 2018 - IEM Katowice 2019) that before the Faceit 2018 major, there were only 3 teams that were able to beat and win tournaments against them. Those 3 teams were Faze, Navi, and North. Besides those 3 teams, no other team was able to beat them during their era. The competition was not that strong because Astralis were just that far ahead of everyone else, but nowadays, the scene is extremely competitive and everyone has not only adapted to the system that Astralis built in their era, but has surpassed it entirely.
