As a French living in France, I couldn't agree more. Most people living in other regions of France dislike Paris. There are plenty of beautiful places to visit in France aside Paris. Go visit the Mount Saint Michael for instance. Breathtaking!
@donk8105yeah we just do that everyday everytime, that's right. One time a week is my usual routine, maybe I should do more I dont know. Sounds perfectly plausible to be constantly on strike. Not that there were really particular reasons that pushed the trash collectors to go that far a few weeks ago. It's just what we do everytime indeed
I’ve travelled to Paris and it was incredible. It was not more glamorized than the rest of Europe. I would recommend avoiding peak tourist times like August.
@@misabelrodriguez1163 early spring and winter time. In Europe there is the summer school holidays during July/August so lots of travelers and since it’s warm everyone wants to come around to avoid rainy and cold seasons. Google will recommend you to come to Europe in summer time to “enjoy the lush greenery and fresh air” but it’s the worst time here cause of all the tourists making public transportation overfilled, lots of trash thanks to partying, prices rising at restaurants, bars and cafes etc.
@@misabelrodriguez1163and also it gets not only really hot in summer but packed cities plus heat wave is a nightmare. Paris is the city in europe where elderly people die the most due to heat (I still remember my phone shutting off due to over heating) I avoid the city during this time plus tourists seem to live coming during this time. That's also a time where a lot of parisians leave because of the temperature so a lot of stores are also closed :)
yeah this whole video is a lie. the "there's garbage everywhere and it smells like piss" is just an excuse for racists that actually hate paris because Africans live there.
As french person who lives in Paris this is completely false This was filmed during the demonstrations and the « grève » and at that time the garbage collectors refused to work so that’s why it looks like it’s dirty. But generally it’s not this way 😊
I just came back from Paris. Beautiful City, clean, friendly, and the architecture was amazing. I didn't see any of this rubbish anywhere, it was really clean. This is click bait
I’ve been in Paris so so many times it’s a stunning city. I am in love with Paris. Like you said those images were when they weren’t cleaning the rubbish away. Always found Paris to be clean in the city and never got a smell of urine . I enjoy every time I visit
I went not even a month ago, it is not as dirty as the pictures show. Maybe that’s in certain places, but I spent two weeks there and did not see anything like that. It was my dream trip and I loved every second of it
Yea if you look at the little electricty pole that the french call eiffle waffle tower. Them french Electric pole is 1million times smaller than The Arab Burj Khalifa
This is very misleading. I just went to Paris last year and it was nothing like this. The reason it's so dirty now is because of strikes. If the strikes are a problem for you that's fine but don't say "Never go to Paris"
1) Those trash videos were took during the strike of collectors 2) the video with all the tags is not Paris but the suburbs 3)NY is the most horrible smelling place I've ever been to and I lived 4 years in Paris so if you survived this you'd survive Paris juste fine 4) The food is absolutely incredible there, could never find anything remotely eatable in my 2 years in the US... 5) There's literally SO much to do and see in Paris, waaaay more than in the 5 states I've been to in the US COMBINED 6) Don't believe everything you see on the internet....
Well, I agree with you in New York but you clearly haven’t been to any states that really mattered. Maybe you were in like Montana or Colorado or somewhere really boring but you couldn’t have possibly gone to five states in total and to tell me that you had more fun in Paris than those five states because I’m from Los Angeles, and California is one of the biggest states and they have the most attractions in the most things to do there so I don’t really buy that but it also depends on what your version of fun is if all you wanna do is eat foo foo frilly food like in Paris and I guess yeah most of our states don’t have the foo foo free food. We actually have food that’s gonna fill you up in different varieties food with taste food that’s not bland and boring and heavily saturated with just butter And I’m Latin in Caribbean and black. I love spice and I love butter just like the next person but not so much towards clogging in my arteries and you don’t taste anything of any significant flavors just butter, so if that is your version of why you didn’t like anything of American food then I see why but other than that California has some the best food though I don’t like New York. There’s so many food options there so I don’t know if I kind of believe that I think that you just didn’t like the fact that he basically said that Paris was garbage and that it was funky and it stunk and everybody smoked, so are you gonna deny that one because in the US most of all our states band smoking Unless it’s in your home or something but not in public spaces such as restaurants which is healthier for everybody, but Parisians they smoke like a broke stove/chimney that’s all they do is smoke and this disgusting is a nasty habit I swear so if you can’t even be truthful, I don’t know what to say to you. Like I said, I agree about the New York thing Stinky dirty, but doesn’t smell as bad as Paris does, and not to mention most places are not all horrible and you said that every place you went to in five states you couldn’t find anything to do that even remotely constituted to as much as you could find to do in Paris Considering how Paris really have that many things to do beyond just statues in attractions look at old buildings I mean, if that’s your version of so fun and so exciting that I yeah I guess but like I said, in other states have roller coasters and amusement parks things that you guys just don’t have in Parisnot even the Paris Disneyland is worth it. That place is crap.
when i went to paris it was the best vacation i’ve ever taken- the amount of tourist attractions like going up the eiffel tower and going to the louvre were so time consuming and fun, my whole month trip there went so fast.
THANK YOU! ive been twice and going a third time, although its a beautiful city with amazing sites and muesuems, it literally smells like vape piss and sewer everywhere u go and the locals are so rude to tourists. but idk why people would go to Paris when theres a protest right now
As someone who lives in Vancouver Canada, I can see why they're mean to tourists. Americans are disgusting and behave like children. So obviously American tourists will not be treated with respect
Visited Paris last year for my birthday before the riots and strikes god bad. It is a BEAUTIFUL city, never did i ever see trash stacked up or smelled urine or had any bad experience. Its so sad how people are getting Paris at such a bad time saying how the city is disgusting. When i was there i talked to locals and they said strikes like these are very common because people like to send a message( when i had went there was a metro strike). The trash in the streets like that is a political issue not a normal Parisian thing. The city doesn’t even have trash cans all over the place and i still didn’t see trash pilled like this. This is political not normal stop confusing them. I highly recommend visiting the city and stop believing everything you see online. The only people calling the city disgusting are people who have never explored the city and only judging thru screen. Even while reading the comments to this video actual tourist who visit the city didn’t have any problems.
Those videos with trash everywhere are not a usual thing, plus you kinda forgot how Paris is full of museums and culture + cute places where you can walk in nature
@@glockenspiel-ti1msIt isn’t even bad in tourist areas. This garbage is from time of strikes and protest when sanitation workers also went on strike due to the raising of pension age. This is all clickbait . Paris is a thousand times more beautiful and full of history and culture than an U.S. city, including New York, which wants to compare it to. To be clear, I know both American and European cities. I am American born with European parents, so am also European.
Ok, i went to paris just a few months ago. The person who made this video is really dramatizing what its like. First off, its a city, ofc theres gonna be trash. But, they make it out to seem like its everywhere, its not lol. Also, the thing about having nothing to do, theres so much to do. You can visit the palace of Versailles, go to the really famous art muesum, theres also a lot of really cute bookstores to visit. Paris is definitely not really a trip for thrill seekers, but theres is a lot to do then just visiting the effiel tower. Theres a lot more to do, i was just lazy and didnt list them off.
Well the palace of Versailles is not in Paris, it is in the city of Versailles so you would have to leave Paris to see it. Maybe you're talking about the Louvre. However, it is true that there are a lot of fun things to do in Paris.
Your comment reminds me of mathematician Fermats last theorem. He wrote they had a miraculous proof, but that the paper was too small to write it down. Also Paris is already heavily dramatized
My mom has been obsessed with paris and the eiffel tower for years, and when she finally went she didn't like it. 💀 edit, july 17th: bro 92 likes thanks edit, july 23rd: 120 likes 😎🤑 edit, october 2: 165 likes 💬🙈
The locals are also really rude. No matter how nice I tried to be bc I couldn’t speak French they’d turn their nose up at me and wouldn’t help me out. Of course not all of them were like that but most really were
We sometimes went to Italy during vacation and our camping neighbor said, that they prefer to go to Italy because Italian people are so much nicer than french people.
@@αστρον No. They tend to flat out loathe Americans. When I was in high school taking French, we had a trip to France available to us. I was far too poor to go, but I still had to sit through the lectures about going. My friend Valerie actually went. When she came back, she told me how she had to tell everyone she was Canadian after an incident where someone spit in her food for being American. So if you're American, just say youre Canadian and youll be given basic respect. Xenophobes suck, but theyre out there.
I went to Paris as a child in 2013 and it was fantastic. Made some of my most fond memories there, and it felt magical. The city was also so strikingly beautiful and impending. I hope for a recovery for the long term of the worlds economy, so all these strikes can stop and we can live in peace and focus on the important big problems in our world that Russia constantly distracts us from.
@@Joe-qm4yvwell, for some things, you just have to take the bullet. I am personally fond of every form of art, and thus, Paris is a city I want to visit
I went to Paris to visit family two years ago and ngl it was more fun when we avoided tourist spots and cafés. Like they're way too expensive and the chances of getting scammed is high. Pickpockets as well and trust me it's quite something to see one in action @_@ (Spoilers:the pickpocket failed. He was caught)
Paris is not that bad. I went recently and even after the protests it’s basically like any normal American large city. People forget that it’s a city. It’s not an amusement park.
I visited the city a few years ago and it was lovely! The view of the Eiffel Tower from every point of the city, Norte Dame, the Louvre, every corner smelling like pastries, and a short train ride to the Palace of Versailles
Ох наши французы! Я скучаю по вам! Как же я хочу поехать во Францию, побывать там и увидеть вас! Ваш прекрасный город! Люблю вас Французы и Франция, вы чудная страна❤❤
I’ve been to Paris there is so much to do! From art galleries the palace or the Notre dame also ofc cafes! I saw like no trash or it didn’t smell bad only a few ally ways way better and nicer than NYC
@@Turtle647We visited less than a year ago, quite lovely as a city. It’s similar/same to nyc. There’s good and bad neighborhoods and the garbage collection was just fine.
@@Turtle647this is not Paris right now, these was a few months ago, most syndicates were on strike and it lasted for about 2-3 weeks. Believe me, I go to Paris at least once a month.
Nah honestly that’s just lying. Yes it doesn’t live up to the delusional expectations of some people but it’s still a pretty nice city. Yes it’s dirty but that there are no fun activities is just wrong
@ZachBruh38 yeah but the people there actually take pride in their city and don't burn it down because they increased the retirement age because the country over all has had a huge spike in life expectancy meaning to support a aging population you gotta work a little longer
I've been to Paris and I loved the city, I thought it was beautiful and found lots of fun things to do everywhere I went. The videos of trash are from the current trash collector strike and are uncommon. I personally went during the winter months so maybe it smells bad in the summer but I didn't notice any bad smell in the city. Finally I did not experience any rudeness from locals and only felt accepted. Every experience is different but I'd recommend this youtuber visit before spreading slander on such a beautiful city.
The trash collectors strike has been over for months, the city doesn't look like this anymore, it only looked like this for about 2-3 weeks. It's just that people love to exaggerate.
I cannot agree with this description. Paris is a most cultured and beautiful city ,just walk around and soak it all in,stunning sculptures and incredible architecture, that's just the beginning, I am frequent visitor and always so revived and recharged after each visit to fa e the world.Highly recommend you visit PARIS ❤❤
Dont get Deceived by the Internet París its awesome it has a Dreamy architecture and many things to do besides the food (if you know how to find it) is amazing Clearly it has problems like any big city but I went in 2015 when everyone said it was a sewer but it was a trip that I will always remember
I've visited last week and this is more true. The left side of Paris is gorgeous. The right side is struggling. Pick and choose where to stay and where to explore but it's not all black and white. I did a lot of fun things and met amazing people it's all about your own attitude.
I think the trash situation was some kind of strike, also one of my family members recently visited Paris and they said that their food is amazing. So I don't know how true this is ( maybe it depends on the neighborhood you're staying at)
Yup, the trash situation was because of a huge strike we had months ago, it lasted for about 2-3 weeks, everything's back to normal now. Yup, the food's great here.
Paris is pretty if you look from very far away, just don’t get too close, as someone who was born and spent my first part of life there I’m glad I don’t live there anymore cause now it’s a shithole
I couldn't disagree more traveled all around Paris (have been twice in the last two years but it was before the riots) and it was stunning!! I never smelled piss, never saw anyone urinating in public and did not see an over abundance of trash. I was there in August so it was extremely hot and I was worried about all of the things you mentioned any didn't have ONE negative impression. I have been to eight countries in Europe in the last two years and traveled to Asia before that.as an American who has seen a few places Paris in my opinion is the most beautiful place in the world! And as to being bored there are so many museums (quite a few free!!) and so much history I can't imagine getting bored.
I think if you’re gonna visit France go for a nicer region like Bordeaux but when I visited Paris we were traveling on a high budget so my experience was really nice, I think it just varies with how much money you are willing to pay for good food and a nice hotel
Paris is a good place, you have to eat at the local restaurants that are along the river and people are extremely nice I have family there and we go every 5 years this is the media don’t listen to them
I went to Paris for the first time over the summer and it was breathtaking! Beautiful, clean, easy to navigate, great food, great wine - can’t wait to go back!
As a person who went to Paris, I believe this happened after the riots. After me and my family left Paris, they burned down the louis vuitton headquarters. I agree with the food tho, my father got food poisoning from salmon. The subways are definitely the dirtiest.
Ok that used to be the case when there was the labor shortage of les éboueurs( the people who are in charge of cleaning the trash) But now It’s all fixed! 🇫🇷❤️
Paris is actually quite fun if you don’t just visit the tourist spots. If you ever go make sure to visit some places that are more on the outskirts, and don’t go to one of those cafés around the eiffeltower and such. (The food truly is mid) Paris also has a neighborhood that is filled with Vietnamese and Thai food, go there if you want a good meal for a decent price!
I live in nyc and I’ve been to Paris 3 times, it’s beautiful over there. There’s are tons of activities to do but they’re more sight seeing, they also have Disney land Paris, tons of art + historical museums, night clubs, boat tours, parks, and iconic locations not just the tower. I actually dont like seeing the Eiffel up close, my favorite part is going somewhere obscure and seeing the tower peak out from the distance. It’s a nice escape from New York, it’s very whimsical. It’s just as dirty as New York, but it’s not a deal breaker. Don’t skip it! Not to mention it’s close to other European cities.
There's a lot of mediocre cafe food along the tourist spots. But honestly, you walk one street in and it's just fine. Some tourists are just stupid and lazy. Read a guide. Enjoy a museum.
I've been to Paris quite recently and most of this is not true at all the food is delicious there's lots of activities for museums and other things and from what I saw not that dirty at all the only problem we had was scammers but they are nearly everywhere so over Paris is great
I've been there three times and I loved the city. It has so many fun things to do like the Museums (the army museum is amazing), the walking tours, and exploring the area around Sacré-coeur. I did not find the city dirty at all.
September is not peak tourist season that's why. Also the cold masks away some smells. I would know because I grew up in NY, NYC feels and smells better in Fall and winter
I went to Paris and I loved it. Idk what you define by "fun activities" I visited museums, live music, delicious food, and just walking around and admiring the architecture is worth it. Yes, big cities struggle with the trash as NYC has piles sitting on the sidewalks. But I would def come back to Paris.
Paris is one of my favourite cities I've visited. There's a bit of rubbish on the street? Its a huge city so idk why you would expect it to be Spotless clean everywhere. It has good food, nightlife, historical sites, beautiful architecture and a ton of cultural activities. Definitely a great place to visit. I probably wouldn't live there but that goes for most cities of that size. Great to visit tho
Saying I’ve been to Paris a couple of times this is not entirely true yes it has quite a bit of rubbish but, it is a beautiful and fun place, when I was little we went to Disney land Paris it’s was soooo fun! Also there are lots of amazing museums and art galleries. So it has got rubbish in it but it is still a fun place to make memories in! ✨💕
I'm Indonesian, there's only one thing I'm afraid of in France, namely don't let Indonesian Muslim women experience verbal harassment such as being spat at, racism and so on because that would be a big problem. If there is a problem with the takedowns in Paris, there have been many famous Indonesian artists and RU-vidrs who have been pickpocketed and even persecuted by the takedowns in Paris, but it is not a big problem, it is a problem for every country.
I agree with almost everything you said except about the food (Paris is home to some of the most renowned restaurants on Earth) and the lack of fun (it depends upon your idea of fun-if you love history, art, and architecture Paris is breathtaking). As for the garbage, yeah-the city reeks.
I’ve been to Paris twice. I thought it was fine. I didn’t see garbage everywhere and the people were surprisingly nice. Now Greece (Athens) is another story. Garbage piles everywhere and rude people
This is such bullshit. Unless you’re a phone addict and need constant hyperactivities to have a good time, Paris is a fun city to visit. It’s incredibly beautiful, the pigeons are not at all a burden and only certain parts of the city, especially the outskirts have a lot of trash. It’s well worth a visit.
I visited Paris for the first time in Feb 2020, my experience was nothing like this. Everything was clean and it didn’t smell. One of the best trips I’ve ever taken.
Okay it does smell like pee in a lot of places but there isn’t trash everywhere, there’s loads to do and the food is great. If you’re interested in art, culture and history you’ll never get bored and the locals are just fine if you can speak the tiniest bit of French. Americans just aren’t used to the European style of relaxed customer service.
I remember when my grandma was telling me about her trip to Paris when she was younger in 70s i believe, she used to read all these romance novels and couldn't wait to see Paris but as she said it was biggest disappointment of her life, filth everywhere, cats on the tables, dogs sleeping next to meat in butcher shops, people driving without a brain, and many more examples, since then it only got worse and worse and it kinda burst my bubble of clean civilised west.
I’ve been to Paris and some of the stuff is true, like the pigeons but I wouldn’t say Paris is THAT dirty. I actually had a lot of fun in Paris like I went to see the Mona Lisa and my family and I had dinner while watching the Eiffel Tower light up it was REALLY COOL!!!
As a french person, France isn’t as romantic as its showed to be on social media. I completely agree with the video! The streets are dirty and especially a lot of people that don’t know what respect is. And French people usually get pretty annoyed at tourists as they think Paris is just love and croissants (lol). I personally think that France is pretty to visit but not really wonderful to live in, but everything here is not as overpriced (depends on what).
I ❤️Paris 💝 I was in Paris last week and I visited the whole city by bicycle. The city was not so dirty and full of garbage. It seems that the municipality has ordered to keep it clean. Because there are a lot of tourists there….
I’m honestly not surprised 😔 this is happening everywhere in our world, people treat this plant like nothing. I live in California and our, once beautiful tourist, spots have gone down hill 📉 It’s saddening, and it really didn’t take long
One thing not mentioned is that there are very few garbage cans in public and the only public bathrooms require a fee. This, combined with the large homeless and smoking/vaping populations, creates a very distinct smell and atmosphere
Nope, there are lots of FREE public bathrooms all over the city. Maybe you missed them, I guess they can be easy to miss if you don't know what you're looking for. They're this kinda oval shaped, green metallic little "rooms" with automated doors that you see on the sidewalks, there's aways people waiting in line near them.
I saw unexpected things, I had the wrong expectations… I still loved it! Not the trash of course, I didn’t really see any…I was sad to see lots of homeless people….which is just about everywhere you go…it has too many beautiful things to say it is the worst place to visit…I would love to visit again!
I was there a few months ago dont listen to this guy, I stayed for five days, service everywhere we went was great and there is breathtaking views, fancy restaurants and really yummy street food
