I live near pondicherry only for my PhD studies and people do look very creepy way and it is happening for last 3 years and it's really annoying as well
The same thing happened with me and my sister back in 2018 when we went to Pondicherry. We were getting stalked by a man on bike and had ask for help at a restaurant.
I haven't watched the video yet. Just saw the thumbnail and wanted to comment. I just want to express my anger towards these men who never let us live in peace. There's barely a day when I don't have to face a stare when I step out. And itni baar things get so extreme. And it's a common pain all of us share. More than I feel sorry for the fact that you couldn't enjoy yourselves to the fullest, I feel angry towards all those men. May they never be in peace, but I know they must be enjoying doing these things to other some other woman. Anyways, happy women's day to every woman reading this.

At 5:15, I feel you, I could relate to that feeling Anindita. Also same thing happened with us we were 9 girls, first college trip, got cat called, slutshamed, we couldnt sat on beach at night because we were called call girls. Thankgod we knew cops there, we were like delhi se aane ke baad yaha itna ho rha h, it was horrible. I still remember we sat in a circle at the end of the trip and had sharing time and cried so bad because it triggered so many memories.

So true. Esp kyoki last 1-2 year se sb puducherri ko aise promote kar rhe hain ke it's one of the best places in india for solo girls trips or girls trips. They don't show such experiences.

I am from himachal and yhan pe koi aisa nahi krta hai. Agar koi aisa kre toh koi aur he usko tok deta hai aur bhaga deta hai aur kai baar pitai bhi kar dete hain.

I m so sorry that happened to y’all.As for me maybe I didnt get to experience any single thing because I always went with my man and he is a 6’2 100 kg dude haha and I have been there for nearly 6-7 times n everytime it was absolutely wonderful. However we did face some issues from those transgender scammers but yeah maybe things will be diff in an all girls trip or solo trip

Yaar, I can so relate with you guys. My friends and I (group of 5) went to Goa in 2019 and we were on Baga Beach just minding our own business and having fun but the boys obviously just couldn't let us be. All these chapri boys literally surrounded us and started recording us without our consent and they kept following us wherever we went on that beach and some guard of around that area literally asked us to leave so that so much crowd doesn't gather over there. It was such a bad experience, I wanted to cry because we were just having our own fun without bothering people and people just couldn't let that happen. It really is very very difficult for a girl to just live everyday life in India. I really hope this changes but don't have any hope that it ever will. 🥺 Still we had fun though in each other's company. So glad that you guys could do it too. ❤️
Something similar happened to us too. We were around Rocky beach in a cafe and some guys came asking for pictures. We're foreigners so we didn't know better and we thought they wanted us to take a picture of them 😂😂 As I was about to grab the guy's phone, the cafe owner came and stopped them and asked them to leave the property. The owner profusely apologised to us and that is when we realized they wanted a selfie with us. After a while when we went on the beach, some other group of guys were asking us from which country we were, to which we didn't reply. They kept insisting and stayed around until we left the beach.

It is so sad and unfortunate that you had to face street harassment so frequently on the trip. I personally had the best experience in Pondicherry and found it comparatively much safer than Delhi.
