Stan has had to overcome many challenges. Exposed to a lot of violence and poverty growing up. As a teen Stan was told he had an 80% chance of getting the same stomach cancer that had taken over 25 of his family members over the years. Stan decided to get the test done. The tests showed he had the same stomach Cancer. He had to have surgery immediately to remove his stomach where 13 Cancerous tumours were found. Had he not had the surgery he would have passed within 6months. It’s absolutely incredible that he is able to still sing as beautiful as ever having been through so much trauma both physically and emotionally. You never see Stan down and out. He is always positive trying to uplift everyone around him. I absolutely adore him. He is one of New Zealand’s hidden treasures ❤

He’s actually really popular in the Polynesian community. We LOVE Stan!!!!

Stan has steadfastly stood up to commercial entities to represent his indigenous people .If you look further into his work you will find songs in his native tongue and many uplifting messages of incouragement for his people. He could have turned his back on his people and played along but that's not him . He deserves all the support we can give him.

I can't believe so many people haven't heard him. His voice is amazing. This song and Amazing Grace are played almost daily in my kitchen when I'm cooking, cleaning ect.

You’re not wrong… Stan’s voice is beautiful and powerful all at the same time. The back up singers voices are gorgeous and compliments Stan’s voice so well. One of the rare times I prefer the cover of a song over the original.

Every time I hear Stan sing, it’s almost like he reinforces the existence of a greater power. We’ve known him here in Australia since ‘09, after he won ideal that yr! He’s one of those artist that I’m so grateful that we exists on this planet at the same time.
