A few years ago dodie literally was everything in my life I read her book, listened to her music constantly, sung one of her songs at my school's talent show, and then I met her at Vidcon 2018 and cried when I talked to her she was my idol. After that though I slowly stopped listening to her stuff and sometimes I forget how good her music really is. I attached a lot of people (who I am not on good terms with anymore) and the old me (which I am not on very good terms with anymore) to her songs and that makes me stray away from them but this video really helps me to appreciate her music for what it is and not the memories I have attached to it. So yeah, thanks!
I relate to this a lot as she was a huge musician and RU-vidr in my life in 2016-2018 and then somehow fell out of love with her music and this video reminded me how beautiful her songwriting and everything about her music is
If you listen to mxmtoon here is some suggestions Fever dream Falling for you Cliche Prom dress Seasonal depression Feeling are fatal Bon iver Almost home Unspoken words Btw im gonna keep asking untill he does it 😆
Dodie's songs are somehow pretty similar to each other but also super different in their own uniqe way. She is very talented and somehow finds a way of making really simple chords and music shapes sound so professional. She has highly produced songs like the ones you reacted to in this video. But she also has "bedroom ukulele" songs. She has this "project" called ALOSIA (A Lot of Songs In April/Agust) in which she releases songs in like a chill manner. If you ever do a part two I would recommend listening to: - You - Would You Be So Kind - Sick Of Losing Soulmates - She - Secret For The Mad - Party Tattos - Not What I Meant - In The Middle - Guiltless - Absolutely Smitten - 6/10 I would also recommend listening to her "bedroom ukulele stuff" like: - One Last Time - Just Fine (or a lo fi song about a breakup) - Don't quite belong - Dear Happy ft. Thomas Sanders - Cool Girl - Bite Back - Birds (a song by and featuring Thomas Sanders) an akward duet ft. Jon Cozart - all my daughters - a song i wrote about twitter a love song/ a non love song ft. Jon Cozart (the funny thing with this one is that they are two separata songs that complement the otherone's melody. You can listen to them separately). Or literally any dodie song. Anyway, sorry for the spam. I'm just a HUGE dodie fan. Hope you enjoyed it as much a we all do!!❤❤😂😂
I’m also going to endorse this reply!!! I adore his stuff; Saturn is probably my favorite, though I would also go for something from Enneagram (his newest album).
You should totally do a video on Chloe Moriondo, her music is lovely and she's friends with Cavetown, also you should do a video on Orla Garland her music's really cool too and she's friends with Dodie.
If you make a second dodie video you should listen to "Her" and "Secret for the mad" and "Would you be so kind" if you haven't already, those are some of my favorite from her.
you're getting so many requests but id love to recommend,, MARINA and the diamonds? her songs are crazy good :) - teen idle - Are You Satisfied? - Primadonna - Oh no!
you gotta do a part 2 cuz every song of Dodie's has such a brilliantly different feel. A lot of her songs are bedroom ukelele and others are for more built up like these (typically if they have music videos)
You should react to more steven universe songs Recommendations: it's over isn't it, extended theme song, change your mind, lets think about love, do it for her, escapism, being human, found.
ok weird request but Thomas Sanders is like amazing. might not be as good for this bc like some of the songs you have to know the backstory, but the extra songs i think would be really cool ;)
I highly recommend you listen to briston maroney!! some songs that are just *chefs kiss* are “freaking out on the interstate” “deep sea diver” and “steve’s first bruise”
Omg you should do a new part of Melanie Martinez bc she can out with her After School Ep and its fire and the music video for one of the songs Omg I can't stop watching it
one of my favorite dodie songs is Ready Now. It's mainly written for The Invisible Child but is also about her personal problems, mainly about how her friend helped her out. It's a very sweet song
Hey! You should react to the movie of Melanie Martinez K-12! The songs would make a lot more sense and I would TOTALLY watch you react to it, if you don’t want the video to be so long you can cut off the parts that you didn’t had such a big reaction, plus many of the fans of Melanie would be really happy, including me, come on! We all want it! >:D ❤️
Yes! "Intertwined" is definitely about codependency and how toxic it can be, especially when there's things like mental illness in the mix ("I'm afraid of the things in my brain")
I genuinely hate when people react to songs for the first time and watch the music video. It really takes away from the rawness to it all. I feel like intertwined is one of those songs that truly move me, and makes me feel completely entranced but if I would've watched the music video first, that experience wouldn't have happened.
okay- so you have to listen to dodie's new single COOL GIRL from her upcoming album. Also, you should react to some of Tessa Violet's and mxmtoon's songs.
One of the hardest periods of my life was my freshman year of college that culminated in me leaving an abusive situation and becoming homeless for a few months and that has led to a sort of freedom I never thought I'd had. At that darkest point, I listened almost obsessively to Dodie and she helped me through a lot. I appreciate her so much.
Could you please do a never listened to YUNGBLUD part 4 if you do the songs I would recommend are kill somebody,Obey,Tounge tied and Anarchist there all great songs with amazing messages
I love Dodie! I just relatively recently listened to Monster and I’ve been listening to it on repeat for a while now! Have you ever listened to Chris Garneau by chance? I highly recommend doing a video on his songs if you haven’t! I would think Dirty Night Clowns, Over and Over, Fireflies, and The Runt would be interesting listens for you to cover if you want to! ^_^ glad I found your channel, your videos are fun and insightful!!
You should totally listen to Zach Callison album, "A picture perfect hollywood heartbreak". As long as you look like him, i would be cool to see you react to his real music. The best songs are "War!", "She Don't Know" and "Interlude IV". Some people also like "Phantom Love".
If you haven't ever heard of it before, imma suggest Glass animals because they have honestly really interesting music. With really unique beats and sounds Three songs that would be dope for you to hear would be pools, pork soda, and other side of paradise.
Could you do a never listened to Bring me the horizon. The songs I would recommend are Drown,Obey (which features YUNGBLUD),Hevely metal and Happy song
please listen to AJR or AURORA Here are some suggestions for their music: AJR - Netflix Trip, Weak, Turning Out, 100 Bad Days, Karma, Don’t Throw Out My Legos AURORA - Dance on the Moon, Daydreamer, The River, Queendom, Forgotten Love
I do not know if you have seen this great show called horrible histories 2009-2013 it has a song in all but one of their episodes. From season 2 onwards they became wierd al style parodies but they still had to be historically accurate. You should definitely check them out if you haven't already done so.
I would suggest flatsound! songs from the, that i like are “my heat goes bum bum bum”, “i exist i exist i exist”, you wrote ‘don’t forget’ on your arm”, and “don’t call me at all” :j
She is quite good at mental health awareness. :D So before watching I was expecting her music to be all about mental health, I feel like I was right haha
hi, can you react to Anna Clendening, her music is something not a lot of people can relate to mainly because a lot of her songs are directed to help people with anxiety
