I'm a Chechen and as kids we used to fight a lot in the schoolyard. Once I fought a guy and he happened to be a wrestler. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. I thought I was going to die. Freestyle wrestling is a national sport in Chechnya, just like in Dagestan. We believe it's the best sport for kids and teenagers. It trains mental toughness, conditioning and most importantly: it does not damage your brain. The best freestyle wrestler of all time is a Chechen called Buvaisar Saitiev. He is a 3-time Olympic Champion. If he didn't have to pull out in 2000 due to an injury, he would have become a 4-time Olympic Champion.
