Quite a coup to land the director of The Empire Strikes Back for your unofficial Bond film! Proved a safe pair of hands too, staging action, effects and quieter drama with aplomb as well as an unexpectedly dry wit.

Actually, both films are great! I think "Hijacking a Vulcan bomber"(Thunderball 1965) & "Stealing 2 thermonuclear warheads"(NSNA 1983) are both perfectly staged tense scenes! And although NSNA(1983) is a pretty funny movie, it has a serious Cold War vibe though. NSNA(1983), for me, is a much better movie than DAF(1971), LALD(1973), TMWTGG(1974) and all Daniel Craig movies! ***** Sean Connery: what a charming gentleman agent in NSNA, even at the age of 53! Actually, I like older Roger Moore too(Octopussy, AVTAK)! Great joke in NSNA: "Well, to be perfectly honest, there was this girl in Philadelphia!".

The reason I'm intrigued is he looks the spitting image of Allan Cuthbertson from The Sea Wolves, Fawlty Towers ( Colonel Hall) Guns of Navarone etc - always played military types and yet his resume shows its not him... They are so alike it is utterly bizarre... Anyone else noticed?

I always notice actors and their way long, non-regulation haircuts and plenty of gigs for their uniforms. A permanent gift imparted to me from the regulation obsessed Army along with half-expecting a drill sergeant to chew me out for walking on grass or having my hands in my pockets after 20 years out.

Excellent movie the fatima blush kills an innocent women before bond gets home beats the soldier up viscously and rips his eye bandage of which is still bulging from the operation her thick deep voice matched with her hostility is excellent ,the health clinic fight with the guy from raiders of the list ark along with the paitents watching a boxi g match they fight is excellent
