Visiting Qassiarsuk near Narsarsuaq in South Greenland. I rented a fatbike in Qassiarsuk and then rode on dirt roads to the sheep farm Tasiusaq.
Greenland is SO Green down here in South Greenland and I have never seen so much greenery, sheeps and rolling hills in Greenland before.

With climate change we might see a very green dare I say forested Greenland that will be near temperate even.

Solar and wind with batteries would do well in Greenland as would small-scale hydro! I'm so excited for this video. This area is the #1 on my tourism destination at this point especially post 2020... ;-) Good vibes from Alberta!!

I know there is huge potential for hydropower in South Greenland. Qorlortorsuaq Dam generates electricity for Narsaq and Qaqartoq I think... anyway, another awesome video! Thanks, Alex!
@AlexAmasaOlsen
@AlexAmasaOlsen 3 года назад
The hydropower does supply Narsaq and Qaqortoq, but they could use more power, as the district heating cant be run completely on hydropower electricity.. But solar would be perfect as a supplement in the small remote sheep farmers locations

How is it there so low populated? I am sure it’s awesome to be at some place like that in the hills where everything looks so peaceful.
@AlexAmasaOlsen

Mainly because of job opportunities, which are few. But it is so peaceful and nice!

Is it possible to make Greenland greener? And why don't the inhabitants of the island do that? It would've been more beautiful if it had been greener. And I haven't seen so far any tree on the island.
@AlexAmasaOlsen
@AlexAmasaOlsen 2 года назад
Yes, it is possible. Many trees are grown in Narsarsuaq and also a few in Qooqqut near Nuuk. Im thinking of getting some pine trees from Iceland to Nuuk, so I can plant some next year😎

You need keys to get into the replicas. Also it cost money. There is usually a guide working there.

Greenland is coming back to its former self. Expect more green way more often. For those who cant live without the snow.. go north 💫 Idk if its a good change or not, if its natural or not, but yeah. After this i should look for alaska and Terres Neuves videos. See what people from there say.
@AlexAmasaOlsen
@AlexAmasaOlsen 2 года назад
Some is good, some is bad, I guess it depends which perspective and your current location (how much its changing). For dogsledders and snowmobilers in Sisimiut example, its pretty annoying to have snow falling later in the season..

lol I did not get why sheep and lack of mosquitos have to do with each other??
@AlexAmasaOlsen
@AlexAmasaOlsen 2 года назад
The sheeps urinate in waterstreams, which supposedly kills the mosquito eggs.

The doors are at such low level because they want people to bow down to the idols. The same is true with these large budda palaces in the far east. They make extra low doors to make sure everybody bows down to the golden idol. The Jews are not allowed to visit such places of idoltary but if they visit, the proper way to enter is backwards so that instead of bowing down you bend over.
@AlexAmasaOlsen
