My girlfriend of a year cheated on me. She was my first relationship ever in 22 years (i waited to find someone I felt connected to) and I was devastated. Getting cheated on is awful, and for a first relationship, the way it happened unfortunately ruined my optimisim on the potential partners around me and ever getting back with a cheater if it they were to pursue it. I never believed in "the one", but i know cheating is awful and shows a lack of spine for those you are commited too. I can't imagine those who have had partners longer can re-attach broken love strings as they once were.

As someone who cheated on the love of my life.. I can honestly say we as men can change. But we have to want to make that change. As far as me, I spoke to a therapist and was serious about making efforts to change and be better, and that's what I did.. Stopped putting words together, and started putting them into action.. I was very fortunate and lucky that my girlfriend took me back, and it made our love stronger then ever.. Karma really got me for what I had done.. What we as men need to realize, is that our choices not only impact us, but it damages the women we love.. the women we are supposed to love, support and protect..

Hey I have one for you, Married for 45 years, I knew her for 50 years total. She kept her affairs secret. She was an expert. WOW never even thought she could be so deceiving. I trusted her, she would say she was at Church decorating for a wedding. Church was used for a cover. Who would think a Woman would be a Cheater at Church. The Church Staff had her back, they offered a place for My Wife to hide and possibly were part of the Club. Calvary Chapel Burbank Ca was our Church for over 20 years. Both my wife and I served doing different things useing our talents to Bless our Church. I was an Electrician and handy person, my Wife being great at everything we were a great team. I feel total betrayal from everyone involved.

Hey i feel for you i'm 45 and was married for 22 years when my situation happen. She left and then came back and left again. The second time it didn't hurt but the kicker is she came back again and wants to work it out. Every time she left it was only for a week or so but it still stung. I took her back because of my vow. Till death do us part(WHAT GOD HAS JOINED LET NO MAN TEAR APART) even though I took her back it does not mean that I took her back like a wife there is no trust Faith or believe that she won't do it again I will not be the one that separates a marriage that God has put together if she wants to leave she has to leave I will not leave her.

I love what you said that you have to finally love yourself. You Must feel safe secure and whole with the other person. and you have they’re constantly ready around my dear back every chance I get I’m secretly talking outside to the person and on their laptop. I finally went to Scottsdale Arizona to doscoveri there were so many guys that are truly loyal and trustworthy that want one beautiful woman to share their life with and now that I know that I feel stronger. I’m going to get my divorce after 32 years. Thank you for telling everyone out there that you must put yourself first you can’t keep trying to protect a long-term marriage that was ridden with Betrayal. When the betrayer continues to talk to that person and communicate with them and meet them it won’t end and there really is nothing you can do it that point.

People get so hung up on whether something they do can be called “cheating” or not. It’s really just a linguistic lack in our language I think…you must ask yourself, “does this action break the trust or betray the trust the other has in me?” If it does, or you think it might, don’t do it. People will call it cheating only for lack of a better word. The emotional effect it has on your person is the same. It’s betrayal.

Rule of thumb my dad taught me: never take back a cheater. They may genuinely be sorry in the moment, but it subconsciously tells them you will let them get away with that behavior. Can they change? Maybe, but odds are they won’t. Find someone better or keep her as fwb full stop

*Cheating is never a mistake. Cheating is a series of planned conscious decisions, the cheater justifies it, they determine that it’s worth risking their current relationship to do so, then after further consideration- they move forward with the act of infidelity.* When you forgive a cheater and remain with them, they interpret that as a slap on the wrist. A man or a woman with no self control is a liability. *I can’t think of anything more degrading, humiliating and pathetic than getting emotional over or fighting to remain in a relationship with a known cheater.* Whether you trust them or not, it’s best practice to leave the relationship as they’ve clearly demonstrated that they prefer the other person. Hopefully one day your wife will recognize that and act accordingly.

I disagree that they can never change, but i think its more so that even if they do change, do you even want them? The trust has already been broken and feelings for the other may have been shattered. That's something that can never change. Your opinion of them is damaged beyond repair. I firmly believe SOME people can change if they really want to, but you have to ask yourself do you have the capacity within yourself to accept them if they do? Most don't and most cheat again, so there is a huge risk in taking them back. If they aren't taking accountability for what they did and they aren't facing consequences and you just blindly take them back that's the mistake. Ultimatley the best thing you can ever do in this scenario is to just break it off in this scenario. Someone wronged you and showed they don't care about your trust, they don't deserve your trust anymore, but maybe someday, years down the line after some maturing that will change. Being content with the breakup and being alone is the best thing you can do. Personal growth. It's the grief and the hole in one's life created by a breakup that makes people stay most of the time, which i feel is the wrong reason.

technically I had on him because I made an idiotic assumption about him fooling around on me. But he never was. I had talked abt it on my behalf because I had entertained and added some random. Who started sending unsolicited pics the same day. I didn’t know and my boyfriend seen it and happened to leave me. I don’t think it’s fair. I had anger when we talked in the car that same afternoon a week ago. I had him yell at me… we were so good we were just right. We were talking about moving we talked about kids. We talked about a lifestyle together. I don’t want anyone but him and I I don’t know why I had done it. Because of hurt and guilt for seeing his following. Not even on his phone but mine. Fast forward to today since this was only last week. And now he’s following some old chick he used to sleep with and it kinda really fkn sucks. I think he’s texting with her but there’s nothing I can do and I really ruined it for myself and him. If I think his heart is at where I think it is. We will be able to talk when he’s ready. I know things don’t come easy but he unblocked and followed her so quickly

Control your sexual urges. My husband did the same thing but also met women and prostitutes. I don’t even feel attracted to him anymore because I’m so disgusted that he couldn’t control his sexuality, he let it control him. The effort that he put into finding women to catch that hit of dopamine from finding something new in those meaningless connections drove him further and further away from me when he made excuses for himself that he was “just getting a man”. If you can’t get her back, at least control your sexual impulses for the future and invest your energy in high quality women instead of women that are probably sexting many different men including you. If you want one woman to focus all her energy to you, you need to do the same for her.

I have a question I was cheated on by my boyfriend. He treated me like absolute shit the entire time he brainwash me into thinking that the things he was doing was love. So to add this man was cheated on. It widely affected him and he even mentioned it whenever we got together saying I’m not the best right now because I was cheated on in the past and I understand how messed up that is and I wouldn’t wanna do it to anybody. But he did it to me, and in the way that I found out it almost felt like because I let him walk all over me for so long and get away with it. He just did it on the open. Not thinking that repercussions would come to him I guess. Why would he cheat? I’ve cheated very early on in a beautiful relationship I had. The person i cheated with was very good at knowing how to get what they want out of me she is a very good manipulator on top of that she is the mother to my only child this isn’t to excuse my action of cheating because ultimately I made that terrible choice i didn’t even finish my girlfriend pops in my head as I was in the actual act I stopped and then owned up to it because she deserved to know. NEVER cheat ever it does so much damage to both people involved we tried working through it but she couldn’t get over it I mean how could you get over something like that but I promised her i would become a better man from that and that’s what I’ll do and continue to do if I get the chance to try again with her I’ll never make her feel that suffering again if not then as my punishment I will not take another woman because I don’t deserve it
