Your format for teaching is much better than 99% of guides and you make it more like an average joe teaching session which makes it way easier to understand.
@@VideoGameBothey bro, I don’t know if you have the time or the interest but would you be able to do like a coaching session where you teach people how to do it real time. Would be able to see like mistakes and how to fix them.
Seeing you do this without any brews, when it takes me around 30, and with so few switches, is extremely encouraging. Knowing olm will always turn on the same tick in the cycle is also extremely helpful.
Omg. You show and describe this so well that it makes me feel like I can do it! I'm going to try it this weekend. I just hope I can clear the rest of the raid too. CoX and it's randomized layout thing kind of makes me nervous, as I've only ever been one time. Thanks so much for this guide!
No problem! I have other guides, showing how to clear the entire raid, and even some easy methods such as 1:0 melee. If this is your first time ever trying to solo cox, check those out too!
This was so helpful. I can do the timing but have always struggled to figure out when to begin the cycle so he always sees me. Will definitely try using the visual metronome.
Nice video bro, you did a nice job of breaking that mechanic down in a way that's easy to understand. You could make an entire series of these videos for every room, every boss mechanic, and how to do them in a chill way vs sweaty method.
Thank you! And yes, I will be finishing this solo-olm series, then I would like to make some inferno guides that make things much simpler compared to the current inferno guides that are mainstream. I hope you guys enjoy :)
The thing that is tripping me up the most is trying to identify which tick he's turning his head on each phase (as it changes as you pointed out). I often find myself getting barraged by specials trying to figure out which wrecks my supplies. Guess I just need to run it more and get used to it. Great guide, actually made me want to try soloing cox for once.
It clicked for me. Identifying what tick he turns then minus one tick solved all my timing problems. I was also rushing moving on the mage hand which messed my timing up even more. This is all covered in the video, I'm just dense.
One death at olm, but I was able to stay in cycle for the first two phases! That was my issue, clicking too late. Needing a bit more practice but this helped so much!@@VideoGameBot
Hey video game bot, when ever I try to run the head like you do olm hits me in the middle when I run across is there a reason for this or am I doing something wrong?
2 possible reasons: Youre clicking 1 tick late. Your character needs to begin his attack on the exact same hit that olm turns his head. For example, if he turns on tick 2, you need to click on tick 1, and your attack will go off on tick 2. OR your staff is on longrange. It MUST be on accurate. Long range does not work. GL!
Oh, I'm glad you asked! It's the "party" plugin. It allows you and your friends to join a party together, and you can ping tiles for your friends to see!
So when you splash, what exactly determines if his head goes to the middle or not? Its messing me up as i usually run too far to evade his head when he instead turns to the left instead of the middle.
Its semi-random. The best way to counter this obstacle if this: if you splash from the right, always run left and "assume" he will turn mid. if you see him turn left (instead of mid) you quickly double back on yourself and change directions. there is only a 1 tick window of reaction time.
@@VideoGameBot yeah thats my issue, I know I cant run back im just too slow to catch myself most of the time. Ill probably start bringing thralls though which should mitigate the issue anyway. Was just checking if there was some way to pre-empt him turning left.
@@VideoGameBot Honestly, my biggest issue is really head phase now. Just taking a bit too much damage and the bowfa not hitting great sometimes :) Ty for the guides though! yours and mudkips 4:1 guide helped a lot.
If I am off cycle and run all the way to the left side, and Olm turns their head to the left before the tick number (or i miss the timing), would it be better to wait for the tick number again before running to the right, or should I be running to the right side right away and try to correct the timing there?
In your example you are saying you run left (to try to reset his cycle) but mess up from the left side? If that's the case, I suggest running right, and try to reset it from there. No point standing still and tanking a second hit on the left side (or potentially a nasty spec, like portals)
The "visual metronome" plugin. You will have to configure it a little bit to get the number to appear above your head, and you can make the number bigger or smaller.
if you're going to use a visual tick plugin at least get the ticks right. you're attacking on tick 1 you're also clicking the hand at tick 1. "if I run on 2" no you're running on 1. You move the tick before the head turns. nothing here is done on tick 2. This video was not properly explained.
@arnoldmarke please allow me to correct you, friend. his head turns on 2. I click on tick 1, which forces my character to begin moving on tick 2 (the same tick that olm turns his head)
You're attacking the tick before the head turns. Which was tick 1. not tick 2. you kept saying "if I run on 2" which was incorrect. You run on 1 so you dodge the attack on 2. You attack on 1 so you dodge the attack on 2. you don't run on 2. you run on 1. If you're going to use a visual tick plugin at least pay more attention to what's being displayed.
@arnoldmarke I think you might be confused, friend. If he turns on 2, we need to click on 1, so we begin moving/attacking on the same tick that olm turns his head. If you run 1 tick earlier than olm turns his head, you will find yourself in his field of view (because he hasn't turned his head, and you ran straight into his vision a tick early) and you will tank a hit. Tldr: you always run on the same tick he turns his head. In order to run on the same tick he turns, you must click your mouse 1 tick BEFORE he turns.
