Actually mentioned your channel in my most recent blog post! This video was great and your "original" content is amazing lol. Keep it up this app is so cool
Otter works great if you are speaking slowly into a microphone and clearly articulating all of your words. That is not a real-world scenario. In the real world, people talk quickly, they are not speaking directly into a great computer microphone. I use Otter to transcribe Zoom meetings. Otter is not very accurate. You HAVE to take manual notes to supplement the transcription. If you do not, the transcription will not make sense.
To all the dreamers out there, don't ever let the world's negativity disenchant you or your spirit. If you surround yourself with love and right people, ANYTHING is possible...
I see a bunch of C-levels discussing issues in a meeting, lets say 5 C-levels, and 5 manager, discusing issues. The app cant pick up who is speaking at the time AND when people interrupt (which is usual) or talking over each other. This is daily routine. Its not working. Also, how does the app know who is speaking when 20 or more people are involed in one meeting room and the mic pics up all voices together in one room?
This is probably a dumb question but can you copy and paste the raw text into a notes app like Evernote or Joplin or into a word processor without using some sort of export option? It seems this would be a basic feature, but I haven't seen anyone do it yet in any of the videos I've watched.
Is there a way to connect it to notion or maybe pass it through chatgpt (make a bullet point summary) first and then upload to notion automatically. That will be great.
Demetri, I work extensively with young people both academically and in the community. I'm not tech savvy, so are there any practical applications for these apps in those areas?
It can take lecture notes for them so they don't have to focus on writing but actually comprehending lectures. That's the big one in my opinion. Feel free to reach out to me at hello@riseproductive.com or book a quick call with me to chat: calendly.com/dpanici/30min
Haha I thought this video was saying to never use Otter again. I'm transcribing an interview and otter just gave me a single paragraph with 1 timestamp for a five minute section of conversation. Not that helpful. I wish there were a feature to have timestamps every minute or to select frequency of timestamps. Argh.
Appreciate the feedback! The whole point was that you don't have to take notes because it will be transcribed, which lets you focus on the meeting you're in
Hiliting...you can't hilight something in a normal hi-visibility color like yellow? You can only highlite in this low-visibility opaque green?? If so, that defeats the purpose of hilighting 😡😡😡
I have a feeling Otter is going to end up like LastPass, initially it was free, which hooked many users into their product and then they went to the paid route which left users stuck there. I am afraid otter will end up like that. Gladly there are free alternatives to Lastpass like the one I use is zohovault, hopefully you can find multiple alternatives for Otter AI. Cheers.
