Hey Sara 👋, About the cattle situation. I think your on the right track. We calve out about 55-70 cows every spring so we have a little bit of knowledge. Our three biggest tips/concerns would be. 1. Putting just two cows in with two bulls. Especially if the pasture is frozen, icy, or muddy. The big concern would be the boys being too competitive with just one cow in heat at a time. They can chase them around for hours, risking the cows or the bulls getting injured. 2. Make sure they have good calving ease. I really think they probably are because they put them on heifers. However it doesn't hurt to check, you can probably ask the farmer if the keep records of calf weights and if they know what the bulls average birth weights are. It can very wildy even in angus. We have one that averages about a 70lb birthweight and one that averages 88 lbs. 3. I know its still a ways off but when calving time does come around. Be Very Very careful. Cows can be extremely protective of thier babies. In our experience tame cows can get aggressive as well. Its really great that you are in contact with the previous owners, because they will have a better idea of your cows behavior with a calf. Best of luck with your cows I hope it works out grate for you guys!

We had a small dairy of 225 milk cows. During the winter my dad would put them in the barns. It would freeze and he said it would hurt on the milk they give.

Happy Birthday Tori! 🎉🎂🎈🎁🎉 Lots of ranchers will breed first year heifers to Angus bull because the calves are smaller and have narrower shoulders. One year my dad bought first year heifers bred to Angus bulls. Had to pull very few calves that year. The cows will do fine. You are doing great and I like how you educate yourself on farming matters. Have a blessed day!

Angus bulls throw small calves. Word to the wise though- I wouldn't keep both bulls in with one girl. Too much of a chance for her to get hurt. Book recommendation- Keeping a Family Cow by Joann Grohman. It is a fantastic reference for all things family dairy cow. There is also a website/forum of the same name that is awesome.
