Man I can't get over how realistic this detune block sounds,. No tracking/warbling etc. I am a Quad Cortex user and this feature alone makes me want to try out an FM9
I use this block alot in my live show. We use Eb as our standard tuning. Although most songs are in Dropped D style tunings. And we go down to as low as Dropped A/B standard. I have all my basic sounds from clean, crunch, high gain and lead plus variations for use on my 8 scenes. I then have an iteration of that preset with the pitch block to achieve desired tuning adjustment for +3 to -7
Exactly what I needed so I can play a couple of downtime songs without bringing extra guitars. On top of that the string are tighter which it’s definitely nicer to feel them that way and not floppy.
Hi Cooper when I use the Pitch block with Virtual capo I get a serious lag in response. As soon as I bypass the pitch block everything is back okay. I have reported it to fractal. My settings for the pitch block identical to yours!
If I tried this and found it suitable, I would use this ALL the time! If only they were shipping. Would definitely have to try it and feel it to trust it though.
Im getting this weird chorus effect on the higher strings when I use the -1 function. Any advice on how to fix this? Im using the FM9 turbo and the effect block is in series. Thanks
Using the virtual capo for an acoustic gig wouldn't work great, right? It's tough to play loud enough to drown out the guitar strings while the processed sound is playing.
Great video. I play a lot of chord melody and I have to use a Boss OC-5 to split the strings to just the 3 lower strings. Is there a way to do this in the AxeFx III? Thanks Cooper.
Make sure Mix is 100%. Also, don't be fooled by what you are hearing coming directly from the string to your ears... Turn up your amp so it drowns out the naked acoustic sound of you plucking the string.
This video starts with a full minute of plugsplaining - fast forward one minute to avoid! AND Cooper Carter, how about a few answers to the questions people have asked here? To clarify, the Virtual Capo DOESN'T do "different tunings" - by which guitarists mean open chords, drop D, DADGAD etc. It just takes your tuning up and down like a real capo, which doesn't save much time and as some people have said below, doesn't always work brilliantly - latency lags, tone colouration etc. Although it's a great tool for bringing in lower notes when you need them for specific songs- instant Baritone. However, as I do, to bring in octav- down bass for the bottom strings, the Boss OC3 or OC5 is still the best/only option.
OK for saturated sounds, but if you want to use the Virtual capo with a clear sound, it's pathetic. And if you want to play arpeggios, don't even think about it. For a 2000€ product, it's not very nice.
