XD i post the same comment without having read your ;) Yes at this moment 0:42 the acceleration and the power that emanates from Falcor is totaly above DBZ for example. (I'm French and DBZ was the anime number one in France from 90's) For me we can't do better in filmmaking ! It's just my favorite movie for his time. In the 90's and at 35 yers old my dad thought this movies just incredible (an SF fan) I watched it over 100 times! And it's never ending :)
I used to be a tourguide at Bavaria Filmstudios in Munich in the early 2000s. Falcor (in Germany his name is Fuchur) is there on display (of course back then, there was hardly any original feather left on him, because tourists have been tearing out feathers year after year, and there used to be a small garage close by where production designers were doing rebuilding jobs on all the movie sets, and they also rebuilt these feathers from Falcor, over and over :) and they attached them on Falcor again. I admired these people. They made Falcor always look prestine. I also remember times when I went back into that little room where Falcor was, and I sat on him sometimes before and sometimes after the tours, and I always felt very grateful for this. Made me feel like a kid again. (Many many kids have sat on Falcor during the years after the movie was made) ...This scene was one of my favorite childhood movie memories... ;)
When the music breaks down @ 1:08 ..... Almost brings tears 2 my eyes... Can't believe I'm grown n my childhood is over with .....(missing my parents) :'-(
Harry Potter's got weaknesses that The Never-Ending Story doesn't - at least for the first movie. I say that as somebody who grew up and loved both Harry Potter AND The Never-Ending Story.
I'm 39 and I still watch this movie every year, and 11 years ago my son and daughter saw it for the first time and glad to say they love the movie too.
0:24 The way Falcor says this is humorous and you can hear him slightly chuckle. I love Falcor's positive attitude , its very genuine and believable. Not campy like in other children's film with talking animal sidekicks where it felts forced optimisum.
You know, maybe this scene isn't as technically advanced as today's CGI -- but between the music, visuals, and acting it still gives me a greater FEELING of flying than any of our current modern films.
I looooove this scene. The music, the clouds, this scene still makes me want to get ability to freely fly, see these sights, experience absolute freedom. New movies have cgi, but no amoubt of cgi will be able to reach awesomnes of this scene.
How does Atreyu avoid hypoxia, frostbite, and hypothermia when flying over those mountains with no cabin pressure or supplemental oxygen? With luck, of course!
Unless they were flying higher than 15,000' Above Ground Level, they won't have to worry too much about hypoxia and supplemental oxygen. Cabin pressure...well, none of the skydiving planes use it, even when they do high altitude jumps from 20-30K (with supplemental oxygen of course) Things like frostbite and hypothermia. That depends on what time of the year it is. If they were flying around July-ish, they'd be fine. But say if its in the winter....or the climate is like it is in Canada, Russia or the South Pole, yeah you'd need heavier clothes on for that. The unrealistic part, of course, comes much later when Fantasia has been reduced to a few asteroids and they are flying around in space. I really couldn't say on that one.
Haha, I don't care what anybody has to say, Falcor was so buzzed in this clip. The world's coming to an end, and he's going a whopping 20 kph on cruise control, saying, "Chill man, we'll get there." Meanwhile, he doesn't even know where he's going. Wherever he got his mj from, I want some
Nah man, read the book, Falcor is literally the embodiment of hope, faith and optimism. Gmork the wolf, who tries to kill Atreyu, symbolises depression and despair. Falcor, who saves him, represents the opposite. I recommend reading the book while stoned sometime, all the imagery and symbolism in the book really becomes clear
These are some of the best memories that will live on inside us until the only thing that's left is our memories. And oh, what a privilege it has been for the lucky few of us who have this as part of that tapestry from which our lives are made from!
a few years ago, after i seeing this movie again for the first time since forever, i drove to the stables, put my phone in my pocket, got on my horse (he is white, like artax XD).... and gallopped across a field while this song was playing. it was awesome. XD
I love to listen to the adventure theme songs from this movie on my iPod when I'm bike riding fast, or working out. It's makes it fun. Plus, I can't believe it's been 30 years since this movie and my other top favorite movies from 1984 came out: Conan The Destroyer, Terminator. I was only 2 back then and about to be 32 in 12 days from now.
All I can think of right now (other than my childhood) is the family guy clip. "You're a little too heavy buddy!" "YEAH!" "We're goin down!" "YEAH!" *Falcor crashes* "....Yeah."
One of the most memorizable movies I've seen, remembering the popcorn smell in the cinema, the excitement when started to roll. It was one of those movies you longed when it came out 1985, now.. it still got it. Goosebumps this scene gives me.
The movie is not about childhood, but about the power of the wish. Making wishes is a lifelong period - it doesn't end with childhood. This is a good thing)
Movie of my childhood, thanks for posting. Fun fact - listen to track from famous WWII submarine movie Das Boot (same director Wolfgang Pietersen, same music score author Klaus Doldinger) - music when U96 is about to penetrate heavily guarded Gibraltar (in German tracks are called "Heimkehr" and "Rückzug" yet they are a bit different in overall dynamics, but feeling is the same, you can feel same "hand" created music for Das Boot and for Neverending Story).
I hope to fly into heaven on falcor when I did. Lol I'm 40buears old loved this movie as a kid showed my kids twin boy amd girl they loved it. Feels good telling my kids when I was a kid i watched this. Blows there mind. Love life people and remember the times that made u
No matter how many years have passed since the first time I saw this wonderful movie and it is especially this scene, where a whole series of emotions can conjugate inside me, and it can always make me smile in the same genuine way that a child does, as I become a child again and my soul is filled with illusion to be able to accompany Atreyu and Falcor in their flight.
Here we are! Like I said last time, this is another scene of movies that I loved so much because In this action the character for his quest is giving an important message to the people that : in our life whatever could happen we don't give up so to fly straight like him through the difficulties of problems and over them. 🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎞️🎞️🎞️🎞️🎞️🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬👍👍👍👍
Great moments of my life, this film is the best i ve ever seen in my life, scenes, music, all is fantástic,...it will be in my heart forever , how beautiful memories as film as ET, goonies, back to the future and this film, thanks for Been in that incredibles 80 decade, thanks god for gave me that special moments in my life.
i would have LOVED to fly on falcor. my family wanted to visit bavaria filmstudios (i lived in munich as a kid) but I was so afraid of Gmork that i refused to go with them. lol. :-)
Probably my favorite scene from the entire movie!! Makes me so nostalgic!! The soundtrack from this movie is also fantastic, LOL. These other comments are cracking me up!!
