For all the people commenting on engineers and mixers. Sneap is great, but if I was to choose anybody to record, mix, and master my record, I would have to go out of my way and do everything I can to have Dan Swano do it. He is the best of the best, especially for metal.
The production on this album is one of the best ever. Along with The Sound of Perseverance by Death, Master of Puppets, and Arise by Sepultura. Honorable mention to Burn my Eyes by Machine head but This Godless Endeavor sounds unbelievably clear and punchy. Awesome.
I don't know if Terry Date was the producer on every Pantera-album but, Vinnie Paul was, and he got fucking brutal, crushing hard sound on Reinventing The Steel, that sound owns! I'd like to hear that kinda sound on modern albums...
I´m sorry man, but this is the first answer I have to give to the video I´ve posted!!! Andy Sneap is one of the greatest brutal music productors actually. Just listen to the Nevermore record made by Kelly, and then the remaster made by Andy Sneap.... He is one of the greatest actually, I wouldn´t say he is the greatest because we have for example Peter Tägtgren and a couple of others producing brutal music as well!!! Thanks for giving your opinion!!!!
LOL! Thanks! I know. I don't have a trap kit anymore - I was a pretty decent jazz drummer in high school. Only thing in my life I was ever good at! :D But Van here definetly has "it" whatever it is!
I have the shirt Van is wearing at 2:12 ish Its a stewie griffin shirt that says "Obey Me" underneath it! You can see it in one of my videos, I think its my Master of Puppets one
you'd have "it" too if you put in as much time. People may be born a bit farther down the road to being good at something, but that just means one has to work harder to get there, still very possible though.
what the fuck was that rudement that that metranome was playing at first? i know it was a triplet on the second bit and straight forward 4 beats on the third bit..
Dont know why you guys gave him the bad for this comment. I dont like Van in Nevermore, either. They really could use someone more brutal. But NOONE ever would say hes a bad drummer, at all.
