Great video, Ryan! You nailed the installation. The biggest points we are proud of with Glass V2 is the no cure time for wipe off, and no cure time to get wet. You can wipe it off instantly after application, or leave it for up to a few hours and it will still wipe off easily. DJ likes a 30-60 second wipe off as a standard practice. The biggest benefit is the no cure time to get wet, this is HUGE and something that made Glass V2 extremely tough to bring to the market. As you saw, even 10 minutes later the hydrophobics and slickness are wild, and will only continue to increase as the hours progress. Appreciate you taking the time to make this video, well done!💚
Thank you! Hope you guys are proud this is an amazing coating at a remarkable price. I'm excited to bring an update wash to show the hydrophobics when I do my first wash.
Finally, a coating that doesn'tt need the long curing. Not everybody has a garage to work in, or has beautiful weather for the next 12hrs. If available in Belgium, this is defenetly a product that I will buy. Hopefully this product doesn't make your wipers streak over the glass like with Rain X.
Also, for cleaning dirty glass after coating...can you use something like Ethos Clarity? or is it better to use something like Bilt Hamber glass cleaner?
@@williamkochi1415 If you mean just general cleaning? I haven't tried ethos but I HAVE tried Bilt Hamber and it's SPECIAL. I can very strongly recommend that. If you don't want to pay high shipping from OG you can order from Carzilla and use FD5 to save you 5% my friend. I bought the 5L.
Gotta say. It’s a win win. Love that your channel is growing rapidly and whether anyone admits it or not, you kind of saved pans ass with your review 😂😂
@@fookatan thanks for watching! ADS had only cured for 10 minutes so when I do my update we’ll see how they compare again. I think both were exceptional
This video solidifies my observations on your recent video of Pan The Organizers ceramic coating! THIS is how I expected you to react when you applied it. THIS is how I expected you to react when you levelled/buffed it off. THIS is how I wanted you to talk about the performance and its ease of use throughout the whole video! This is simply what it comes down to and I think we can ALL conclude Pans coating unfortunately wasn't any of that. Period. Great video as always!
Thanks brotha...For what it's worth the Pan coating is SLICK. I had to dry it after the water test and was grinning. I'll give you my full thoughts after the first wash video.
Just applied the ADS Quartz Pro and Amplify to my Bullitt yesterday, amazing gloss and slickness, will be ordering the Glass Coating soon! Also, recently found your RU-vid Channel, love the detail of your vids.
Looks like CLEAN by Pan is actually performing a little better. Super impressive! What’s crazy is that per Pan, is that the coating will only get slicker when fully fully cured. Both great products though!
Agreed...hard to go wrong. I do like to use companies based on the performance but also the people behind the brand. I like supporting smaller companies.
Man, I gotta give it up to pants coating. The water does not want to stay on the glass really no reason to buy a glass coating. You could’ve just added Pam’s coating to everything. Thank you for the review. Great job.
@@mayo8472 thanks for watching. To be fair ADS only cured for 10minutes and pans was 24 hours. We will do a follow up 7 days out to show the best performance. That’s why I said it wasn’t an apples to apples comparison. No doubt both are great.
Thanks for watching. Yeah a few things to note like you said. Cure time is different and the angle in which I hold the spray gun is different when I do my follow up wash in 7 days we'll see the behavior.
New Subscriber, Enjoying your content. Both Coatings look like winners. looking forward to the 6 month update. Since your Climate in AZ is very hot and low humidity, Do you have an issue with Dust, Sand or other type of environmental contaminates?
Wow those results at the end speak for themselves. Appreciate again your time making these tutorials for us viewers. Stay safe across the pond there folks and especially the Floridians with hurricane Milton on it's way.
Been extremely happy with every product I've tried from ADS. ! Just wish these companies would seel their glass and and wheel coatings, in smaller bottles. Would be nice to be able to purchase these in 15ml bottles.
hey hey! Agree they look cool just not great for paint correction. High CRI lighting like what OG sells or even car supplies warehouse they have some cool correction lights I'll probably pick up. I can buy the CSW lights for a few hundred vs my quote from OG was $2k plus I need to hire an electrician.
@@willsridecare thanks will! Congrats on Tuber my friend. I’m sure it will do well in comparison to hydro glass however they don’t publish an expected durability and this is $75 less expensive. So I’m sure people will tell us over time!
I’m running the c6 Glass. It works great, been working 4 months. My only issue is when cleaning it becomes grabby and builds up a static charge. I’m cleaning with the bilt hamber traceless, it’s great and slick, full of gloss. My turtle wax slick glass is almost as good and is a ceramic cleaner for glass but can’t be used on interior side. It might be the better topper and cleaner for the c6 glass. I’m hoping the Armor glass is slick. The C6 glass needed 45 minutes before hazing up and leveling.
Thanks for watching ADS is SLLLIICCCK it's slicker then Pan's coating for sure. Maybe on your C6 you could try Clarify Phobic from carpro? I'll give you updates as I was and dry the car on performance.
Thanks! Got it at home depot it's gorilla step ladder. I also added some non slip tap on each step because I use when washing too. It's been awesome! www.homedepot.com/p/Gorilla-Ladders-3-Step-Pro-Grade-Steel-Step-Stool-300-lbs-Load-Capacity-Type-IA-Duty-Rating-9ft-Reach-Height-GLHD-3/302159307?source=shoppingads&locale=en-US
Wow great review def will be getting glass v2, and will us FD10, pans looks like it did better by like an inch but I’m sure glass v2 is more durable and able to withstand the windshield wipers more than pans.
Thanks for watching! Yeah, to be fair pan's cured for 24 hours and V2 was only 10 minutes. I also wasn't spraying at the exact same angle so that might not have been the best comparison. ADS should be more durable on the windshield because they ask for 2 layers.
Nice video, on the video it looks like pan’s coating is doing a better work beating og the water and looks like it’s not leaving even any small drops, but the AD is doing that. Maybe you can see better than on the camera.. But still AD is doing a nice job
Yeah and just see your general process of how you attack cleaning a car within your setup, would be great to pick up some of your methods and implement them into our wash processes etc :)
Man, you've been a busy guy. tough because you have one tinted window, and one not. It actually looked like Panbo for the win, and honestly, it looks like Panbo on glass has better water behavior than on the paint. But i digess, my glasses are in the other part of the house. So, whats left? Wheel coating? Interior protection?
@@walterhahn2077 thanks man. I do want to see ADS when it’s had time to cure. It only cured 10min vs pans which was a full 24. When I do my 7 day wash we’ll see how it looks. New car series left we have: decon wash, paint correction, wheels, trim/door jamb coating and leather protection
Awesome video! Honest question, why a glass coating? I applied ADS Quartz on my daily on all paint, glass and plastics. I dont even need to use the wiper blades at +38mph. Is the only purpose just a coating that can withstand wiper blades? What I am missing?
@@gorillanismo exactly it has more durability and longevity. Two coats and it will last longer due to wiper usage. And it’s designed for glass so in theory should last longer and bond better? Just a guess
Quartz can absolutely work on glass, but with windshield wiper abrasion, our dedicated glass coating will offer longer durability while also being easier to apply.
@@djmayo8147 appreciated DJ, I have applied a lot of coatings and damn! Quartz is in my top 2 with DIY 5yr. Easiest to apply, glosssssssy and water behavior
Great video!! Although Pan’s coating looked slightly more hydrophobic, the big question is durability when you use wipers. Armour is designed for durability on windshields, but Pan’s Clean has a different purpose, so it’s difficult to directly compare them for windshields, without some sort of wiper test. For other car windows, Pan’s seems to have a slight edge, but at 3X’s the price.
For sure, different products! I only applied ADS to the windshield. I just made an update video you can check out to see the hydrophobics. ADS says on the windshield it should be up to 2 years. Pan doesn't specify if his will last on glass that long. We shall see.
@@FineDetailingAZ Thanks for the update video in which ADS Glass Coating V2 looked at least as good on the side window as Pan's Clean after your wash. I have a weird situation in which my front windshield is covered with a Bray film to minimize the potential for chipping, so I want to minimize the use of my wipers which could scratch that Bray film over time. I have tried repellents from Bray, Rain-X, and Aquapel, without much success at less than highway speeds. I then tried C6 Ceramics Hydro Glass, which was better, but not much use below 40-45 MPH. I am going to try ADS Glass Coating V2 based on your review, although I have no idea how that will work by just trying a panel prep on top of the C6 Ceramics Hydro Glass. I don't want to polish off the C6 Ceramics for fear of damaging the Bray windshield cover. Hey - I enjoy experimenting, so why not give it a try?
@@TomScelfo thanks for watching. Most ppf can withstand some lite polishing. Given that ads and c6 were designed for glass I’m not sure how well they will bond and last. I almost think a regular ceramic coating or a PPF ceramic might work best.
@@FineDetailingAZ You raise a very good point. When Pan got his Cayenne, Yvan applied C6 Ceramics Hydro Lite to his entire car, including the windshield. When Yvan released C6 Ceramics Hydro Glass, he polished the Hydro Lite off Pan's windshield and applied the Hydro Glass because it had better resistance to wiper wear. When I asked DIY Detail about using Hydro Glass on the Bray film, they told me to make sure the Panel Prep didn't discolor the film. When I confirmed the Panel Prep was OK on the film, I applied two coats of Hydro Glass. I'm pretty sure it stuck to the film, but I was not very satisfied with how it worked at less than highway speeds when I finally got into some rain a couple of weeks later. I hadn't used the wipers at all, so I think I was looking at the coating's performance, even though it was on film rather than glass. I feel the same about applying ADS Glass Coating V2 on top of the Hydro Glass. It's basically a test. The rest of my Macan is covered with normal PPF, which has the property of "self-healing" for surface scratches by applying heat (sun or heat gun). The Bray film doesn't have that feature. When the wipers leave enough marks on your Bray film that it bothers you, the film needs to be replaced. I want to do everything I can to avoid the need for a replacement to my heated windshield due to chips or cracks, just as I'm sure you wouldn't want to have the windshield replaced on your BMW (congratulations on buying your beautiful car). If I'm not happy with the ADS, maybe I'll try Pan's 8-year with a double layer like the center of your hood. If I get to that point, I'll trying polishing a corner of the Bray to see if it scratches before applying Pan's coating.
Hey did you happen to film your polishing before the Clean8 coating? Would like to watch your process and choice of machine and compounds. Your x5 is mirror smooth. Im getting ready to go cordless, trying to decide between the Milwaukee DA (great tool range that works with the batteries), or the Shinemate eb351 DA. Rupes made their damm battery position hit right on the paint. I returned it.Someone should make a side mount adapter for it. Can’t believe they ran with it like that.
Thanks for watching! I will release a whole series on that vehicle. Next is a decon wash then a correction video. I may combine so stay tuned! Thanks for the kind words. I used the HLR15 and didn't have any issues. Just a learning curve to start.
The box on the V2 still says 12+ months on the back of the box for the windshield. I'll be getting mine installed this Friday and have a video up as well.
@@theunkownmr.562 yeah I forgot to call that out. I think they are probably just working through left over boxes or still waiting on the new box. No biggie
From their site: The highly durable formula provides up to 2 years of real-world protection on windshield glass and 3+ years of protection on all side and rear glass, it’s built to last, even withstanding up to 80,000 wiper swipes.
Thanks for watching! It just sits there like a good little pressure washer. BUT I did put down som no slip tape on the top and it doesn't move. This is what I used: amzn.to/4gYM44V
Looks like another great product from ADS. I have v1 on my glass going on 10 months and it's still going strong. Application of v2 looks much easier than v1 and no cure time with being able to drive and get wet immediately is incredible. Looking forward to your first wash update to see if additional cure time shows any noticeable difference (not that it looks like it needs it).
Thanks for watching! Thats why they made this new coating. It is supposed to last longer up to 2 years with wiper use. I also applied 2 coats which is what they recommend for best durability. We shall see! Pro tip is to spray your washer fluid first then use your wipers even in the rain. Helps get the film build off it theory creates a little lubrication. Learned that from Yvan Lacroix.
I did say that it wasn't apples to apples. Pan's cured for 24 hours and ADS was on 10 minutes. I was spraying at a different angle. Wasn't a great comparison so when I do the follow up wash we'll see. Also one is an all around vs a dedicated glass coating at 1/3 the price. If Pan's out performs I'd happily say that on camera but because of the reasons I listed above I wasn't prepared to "declare a winner." Hope that helps
@@DavidGarcia-tw9ns thanks for watching. To be fair ADS only cured for 10minutes and pans was 24 hours. We will do a follow up 7 days out to show the best performance. That’s why I said it wasn’t an apples to apples comparison. No doubt both are great.
@@FineDetailingAZYep, my thoughts exactly..A little soon to fairly test. Both performances were great, Pans seemed a little bit more aggressive on hydrophobics. There was zero water on the front door glass. Wonder how it would hold up on a front windshield with wipers?
We'll see how it holds up! I only ADS on the front glass because I didn't want a weird tape line where I didn't apply it lol. I'm sure someone else will do it!
@@vladmontana2777 thanks for watching! I did put on the screen I tested it only after 10 minutes while pans coating had cured for 24 hours. Performance will improve so I’ll show an update on my 7 day wash
