The thing is Barcelona are primarily remodeling because the Camp Nou was so outdated. I visited the stadium in 2021 before the renovations started and the stadium was kind of a dump. Tiny concourses leading to long wait times, crumbling concrete, bird poop everywhere and aging infrastructure made it absolutely necessary to rennovate.

I had a similar experience when I visited back in 2011. Reminds me a bit of the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza (or San Siro if you're an ignorant AC Milan supporter) - an amazingly iconic structure, vividly remembered from watching Football Italia on C4 back in the day, which in reality is a crumbling shithole.

I’ve just been on holiday to Madrid and did a tour of the Bernabeu. The sheer scale of the the stadium was mind blowing as well as the futuristic pitch storage system.

And it's not finished yet! I like they haven't taken down any stands ect and kept the integral structure, just a great spruce up! Keeping the history and the past and adding to the much needed future! Adding a little more capacity would have been great but the then mayor of Madrid put stop to it unfortunately. The tube station is getting a refurb also, will have everything in place for an all year working stadium! #HalaMadrid 👍🏼

Basically Madrid is aiming for a more profit-focused futuristic stadium with business in mind while Barcelona is aiming for a more eco-friendly sustainable stadium plus additional amenities with its local community in mind. Actually very befitting of both clubs tbh.

Más aparte le esta saliendo a casi 2mil millones por la obra entera, el pasto retractil que han puesto ya lo han tenido que remplazar 6 veces porque la idea no está funcionando como lo pensaban y el Bernabeu solo lo forraron con metal y placas, toda la estructura es prefabricada mientras el Camp Nou literalmente lo están construyendo desde cero. No se tu pero le han robado al Real Madrid un dineral en esa obra que es alucinante. Si hubiera quedado como los renders hubiera quedado de jefes pero..... buffff.... es que se ve mal de día y de noche, se ve mitad completo

El nuevo bernabeu es una locura, lo que he escuchado es que mucha gente pasa de noche y dicen que es muy diferente a las imágenes que se anunciaron en su momento (muchos hablan de la iluminación y las separación entre las placas, yo personalmente no he podido verlo lamentablemente).

in what way? it will ttake 30 years plus to remake the cost. its 1.5 billion euros for the stadium only. barcas is not for a stadium but for basketball futsal handball massive store massive museum and a huge park. madrids was only a stadium. esplai barca is all of the ground of campnou. im sorry madrid wont make any money on this in atleast 2-3 decades. its only their stadium nothing more.

@lightninggamers-fc1bn with Madrid new stadium they make average 4.8m euros/home game. With old camp nou we had 7.8m/home game. We will most likely have more then twice Madrid earnings/game. And so what if you can change it u can't have it on at same time. Its cool what Madrid have done. But so unnecessary.

@@sadssadsa5944 U are right but this is matchday gate revenue u also have to factor in the income the stadium will be able to generate through the restraunts etc. Real madrid estimate that the stadium will bring about 400 million per year. Real madrid have a home match on average every other week so what they are doing is they will try and host a event every week so the revenue they earn will be very high. You cant only consider matchday gate revenue for real madrid.

Both renovations would increase seating capacity. Bernabeu was around 81,000 before its renovations will be above 84,000 after. Nou Camp capacity goes from 98,000 to 105,000 after its renovations.

The lower amount of money is because all they did was renovate the stadium. Barcelona renovated the stadium, the Palau blaugrana and all of the surrounding area. If it were just the stadium I bet it would have been cheaper than Madrid

I'll put it in a simple way. Madrid has been revolutionizing their stadium since the beginning. Barca has been playing catch up each and every time so as to not get left behind. That is the difference. I've been to both and the Bernabeu is just something else. The Camp Nou felt historic but facilities were very poor. The renovated one will look nice obviously and will make their fans happy, but it's just not at the same level.

Real Madrid stadium is such an iconic building taking into consideration that the planners concentrated on the business side whilst Barca's stadium is eco friendly taking into consideration the environment and the community. You can watch it for free on your mobile phone thanks to the Super League. Watching Real Madrid will be a luxury experience, today it costs €70 on average and tomorrow it may be €100. (50 in the worst seats)

I hate to burst you bubble about these stadiums but the first retractable football pitch in the world is not in Spain, its at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London which has an NFL pitch below the retractable football pitch. It has lighting to keep the grass alive and watering systems as well as a huge ventilation system. Real Madrid have just copied the idea from Spurs whose stadium opened in April 2019.

Real Madrid spends 1.5 Billion to future plan stadium and profit weekly. Barcelona spends 1.5 billion to make stadium expierence better but not much use of stadium itself every week.... so they start selling old stadium grass. Who is in charge of Barca its like they have no vision and cant plan.

Both outstanding but the Bernabeu looks a little weird with its surrounding buildings while Camp Nou has a cleaner look and spacious area outside, inside the pitch the two are great but Camp Nou has more seats .. Maybe im just a barca fan but I think the camp nou plan is better

Camp Nou will be, by far, the biggest and most beautiful stadium. You can see it by taking a look at the new Cam Nou works. Its design has recently been awarded (IAA 2023). Bernabeu is still the same old 1947 stadium under a new and strange case (in Spain we call it the giant tuna can). Indeed, we can already see the new Bernabeu and is somehow disappointing for Real Madrid supporters, which as you can see at some comments, are in reality scared of what new Camp Nou could become 😊

Both are impressive stadiums but I think i like Camp Nou a bit more cuz its open & unique . I have been to many american & other country's stadiums that has same closed system like Barnabeu . That open roof system of camp nou is rare . Anyway both looks amazing & the atmosphere will be something else. ( Edit : What i meant by open roof is the design in which u have hangout roofs like shown in the animation. Where people can hangout in massive balconies that encircle whole stadium. Where u can stand & see whole City view. Although some Stadiums have this already but Camp Nuo is just bigger & more open than anything i have seen )

Santiago Bernabéu. Just because Real Madrid is building a brand new stadium (over the old Bernabeu) in four years, and Barcelona stadium is a renovation (it will be finish in just one year and a half). You can see a lot of diferences between the two.

Barca’s is nice as a recreational state of the art stadium, but it doesn’t have the same feel as Madrid’s no-nonsense design. The Santiago is definitely the more hype stadium for big games (especially at night). You just know what you’re getting into when you step inside, the atmosphere is also more private and intense because of the metal frame. Camp nou doesn’t really give the same vibe, it sounds like more of a park stadium.

Unless you are having these events at the same time, the Bernabeu can do the basketball, hockey, concerts, american football (the NFL is hosting a regular season game there in 2025) events no problem, i was there two weeks w a guy that works there (in the retractable roof department) it is insane.
