That setup is trash. Sleeve coils on skunk2 sport shocks, you're better off with lowering springs on autozone quickstruts. That sleeve coil junk is something you'd run back in 2004 when affordable full body coilovers didn't exist. Only sleeve coils I'd ever consider running is ground controls on koni struts.
If you don't care about riding slammed and want reliability and performance on a budget, get the Progress Cs2 for about $600 with coupon code. Took about a month or so for me to get them but that's because you pick the spring rate you desire and they valve the struts accordingly. They've been in motorsports for a long time so they are a reputable brand, have an amazing warranty and are based in the US. I'm not a brand snob, but suspension and brakes are 2 things I would never trust from an ebay brand. Their stuff is pretty much the same as all the knock off parts sold on ebay.
I'm same as you. Was on the fence with rev 9 or spend the extra for BC and not look back. I went with BC. I'm never buying a cheap coilover ever again. Best decision I made. I would recommend the same. Great thing is they're fully rebuild able if anything fails ect. Spend money once and call it a day.
The best coil over set-up I've found is progress cs2 or cs3 I've got cs3 and love them and they have a ton of spring rates as close to real competitive auto cross or road race setup u can get for the money
For that price I'd go with yonaka. They're priced very well and they're of decent quality. They have a few different options. I've had spec 1s for a few years now, zero issues.
Man i guess you just got to be lucky with cheaper coilovers :( maaaan u got a bad set. Spent money on some yonakas, were booty, couldnt even level the car out. Finally spent a little more on riaction coilovers and they are great.
Why were u taking them completely off to adust the the height I'm a big fan of yours but I think you're just having a bad day or something bro they're not nearly as bad as you're making it out to be
Cum on bro just gets flat head screw driver and pry up well ur hitting it with impact the same thing happen to me and boom they were workin as good as new
I just noticed why haven't you pulled that rubber stripping from the quarter panel? That's always the first thing I do when I get a car that has them because it would always hold moisture and crud especially up north and cause it to rust faster.
A couple of my "dampening" adjustment knobs were stripped as well. And one of the shocks started leaking after a week. Height adjustablity as you pointed out is trash as well. Safe to say I will not be buying any MPR products ever again.
I’ve ALWAYS been the same way when it comes to buyin coil overs. I can’t bring myself to spend $700.00-$1,000.00 on good quality coil overs. I would rather spend the Bigger loot on engine/turbo parts. The ORIGINAL basic MaxPeedRods are pretty decent for the money.
I will never run anything maxpeedingrods again we installed one of there gt3582 turbos on a friends gsr and the bearing failed and sent metal completely through the motor and they won't stand behind it
I ran the tokicos with sk2 springs way back in 2005. They best suspension I have ever had, as far as the way it sat, not too low but you can tell car was lowered. Easy over bumps and never ever bottomed.
The pillow ball tops and stiffer spring rate makes front sit higher. Need alot more adjustments on front or take them pillow top hat off and put stock top hats on
Damn they should have done some more testing before sending these out. Damn they failed big time. Def don't buy the new ones but the older ones you had did good and that seems to be the same everywhere is the older versions do good.
Also maxxspeedingrods offers a stiffer springs rate so ask them about those #deadbeatsgarage has there stiff spring rate on his ef hatch i think they are 8k in front and 5k in rear is how they come stock and he had them make him a 12k and 10k I think
226,000+ miles.OEM was K20a2, 215,000 mi. Fresh K20z1 11,000 miles. Runs KILLER 👍. Presently running Skunk2 Pro coilovers.....After... 6 week brake in they're working well. Aggressive street set up. Front 4 click in, rear 6 clicks in..
Been waiting for this since you posted on fb. I saw these blue ones last night looking at them for the ef. I just ordered the gray 24 way for the gfs wrx should be here today! We shall see how they are.
Hey hunter I have a few questions regarding your video on the 58/55 turbo set up. Im building a b18b1 in a 1996 civic coupe, power goal is 500hp and doing a complete engine build and head build, forged CP Pistons and rods ect. I hope you or someone can tell me,is there a better turbo manifold thst yoi dont need to heat up and smack? I’m really considering getting this turbo, what oil lines would you use to make this turbo work ? Would a universal eBay oil return/feed line kit work ? Or if there’s a link you can provide me I’d infinitely appreciate your help. Funny thing is I was just looking at those 1320 manifolds and was thinking to myself if it’s good or not, glad to hear it’s a good buy! Love your channel man you share some priceless knowledge.
Thank you for this review i was thinking about buying these but now im definitely avoiding it. The amount of frustration you were going through in this video was enough to light a camp fire.
