I am and have been an RN. I worked full time with 3 little kids. It works out and you get independence and homemaking combined which is a good mix for mental health. Financially it helped tremendously and now that I am in my 70’s , having contributed toa 403-B savings program is making retirement easier.
Good luck with your new job. It isn't wrong to want for yourself. While caring for your kids is so important, it is monotonous and lonely. And when you yourself feel like you need more, your kids will thrive having a happy mom. You will also be a good role model for Abby and teach the boys about real life, sharing the load, and helping each other. Don't worry about posting if the stress of "getting it ALL done" gets to be too much.

I completely understand ~ I enjoyed being home and was so fortunate to have been able to do so, however I did find the transition of going back to work surprisingly well. That probably had a lot to do with the fact I contemplated it for so long that once the time actually came I was ready. I felt better mentally and it was a pleasure to come home from work and I was able to be more productive and develop a more structured routine for the kids as well as keeping up to many roles of motherhood lol. I’m so proud that you are doing this for you. It is a blessing to be home with the kids but it is also rewarding to be out for a change of scenery ⭐️ I wish you all the good vibes and positive light along the way. You will do fantastic. 💚💚💚💚💚💚

I understand being a stay at home mom and doing the same thing over and over. I found a seasonal job. I’ll work twice a year. I love it!! My husband is a truck driver and able to support the family on one income. But at times we can struggle. I came into the seasonal job as an assistant manager and now I’m the location manager. I love photography and that’s my job. But having a second income at times really helps. Especially at Christmas time. We can easily get cabin fever and I think my whole family has it. So when my husband comes home we are getting out for a whole day. Going to a drive thru and walk thru safari I found 2 hours away. Sometimes just getting out and doing something different can really help. Congratulations on the new job!!!
Congratulations Karla The hospital will be blessed to get a wonderful caring nurse like you. I did toy rotation when my girls were little. It works great. I would rotate the first day of the month and the girls would be so excited for what to them was new toys😊 🐢

I’m doing good! It’s after 10 by time I’m watching today! Had a family day today & took our 3 kids to the aquarium! My husband just got over the flu & Covid so it was nice to finally get out after he’s been cooped up in the house lol❤

I am coming later here but I was in your boat as well. I stopped working when my honey left to go to iraq for 19 months. I had 3 little one to take care of. when he came back I went back to work.. Now they are all in there 20's and they are good. Dont ever feel guilty about doing something for you. As moms we do everything for everybody all the time. Congratulations on your new career.

Wow Karla, so happy for you. You need to do what is best for your family and you. Ive been thinking of going back to work myself but as you know being care giver which is requiring more every month, it will stay a dream for now of working outside of the house. I dont feel comfortable sharing about my mental health right now, maybe ill shoot you a email. I became a stay at home mom when I had my youngest, I had worked in the criminal justice system prior and had worked since I was 11. I have done just about every job under the sun, and I will be the first to tell you... being a stay at home is the HARDEST JOB EVER!!! Do not feel guilty for about how you feel, there are not many people who would do a job 24/7 without a paycheck. My youngest is 8, I have been 8 years without a paycheck. My reward is seeing the difference I have made in creating giving and wonderful people that can contribute something great in this world. I was planning to go to work when covid hit, and now we homeschool.... be open to change, we are put where we are supposed to be. You've done an amazing job with your kids, but now you have to provide in a different way and take care of you. Mom guilt is real, good luck in your endeavors! 💚
It's been an amazing job to be able to say that I stayed home with my babies but also feels so right to help my family financially plus do something that I love. I thought I would never be ready to go back to work. But God definitely knew what he was doing. I am ready to go back and be with my babies when I am Home. I appreciate the encouragement so so much. I do have those negative thoughts every once in a while but I deserve this amazing opportunity. Everything was so smooth and just the timing is impeccable. I am in awe a lot of the times. Still feels surreal. Thank you again for the encouragement, I know this is the right thing and I am doing my best. ❤️

Good for you love!!! I totally get it. I have been at home since 2017 and I’m starting to go nuts. Then I remember what it was like when I did work and what my physical abilities are right now and it calms me down lol but I do feel that way sometimes don’t feel bad at all. It is getting tough out there. I am so glad you have the ability to fall back on a career. Happy for you love!!!
