Thank you!!! I just now came to the realization that I need to be a little easier on myself! I’m not sure why I thought I could do this in a weekend! 😅
I have watched other channels and have seen them use brackets to hang the bikes up in the ceiling to reduce space on the floor. Awesome job, it is amazing the stuff we keep 😂😂😊
Your resin shelve units are not put together correctly. I had the same problem with mine. You need to use a rubber mallet to pound in the round pillars into the flat pieces. Some of them have a tight fit. Once you have the all 4 pieces set into the shelf, put the next shelf in and pound it into the pillars. Check to make sure the shelve is level before the you continue the process. Mine turned out great. 🙂
😂😂😂 IT’S SO HARD to edit videos when he’s “helping” me! lol When I speed the footage up, I’m running in circles and he’s moving soooo slooowwww. 😂 He is not one to get rid of anything so I’m pretty sure he was trying to figure out how to sneak everything to the shed! 😜
Hey!! Thank you so much!! He's super supportive of my projects, even the ones he thinks aren't quite necessary! 😂 Thankfully he's on board with a big declutter of this garage!!
It really does help to sort and bring like with like first - it absolutely lends piece of mind when you come to the deciding what to keep step of the process. Very hard job done well - congratulations!
You need a outdoor deck box forball your pool stuff. Place it in your backyard if you have the space or it can go in garage and you can either sit on it or store items on top of it. It has taken us like 5 tries in our garage and it's still not fixed and we store three vehicles in it. Best of luck and can't wait to see part 2.
I just added a comment with the same tip, before I saw yours. I use a level to be sure I pounded it in enough. It really does make the shelves work. Hers looked so rickety.
Thats so funny because one day I picked up one of my sons friends to come over. He gets in the car and says "this is the cleanest car I've ever seen."🤣🤣🤣 I was like oh, really? I didn't think it was like that! Lmao!
@@tamarabooth5534 yes!!!! It makes total sense. My late grandpa-in-law had rental homes and he would greet the potential tenant at their car to get a peek inside!!! He said that it told him how they would treat his property! Me having the messy car I have just didn’t get it back then. Now I do! 😝😂
@@brandynicole ok...well now THAT may be different and I actually understand that..when youre talking about people to rent to....but aside from that, how my neighbors keep their garage or house is their business. I have awesome neighbors and they are great people so it def doesn't stop me from hanging out with them and visiting❤️
@tamarabooth5534 AMEN! I think I misread your first comment. 😂 I had honestly never thought about someone’s garage “saying something about them” so when I heard that… My jaw dropped and it has stayed with me since. My house certainly gets messy.. SO MESSY! But not like disgusting.. I can clean my house and make it look like it’s always been that way real quick, but my garage.. It’s where I take all the things that I don’t want cluttering up my house.. Like the moving boxes still out there 2 years later 😂😂 I guess it’s where I take the things I need to make decisions on.. My garage needs to say I’m a procrastinator 🤪
I bought a shelf on Amazon that holds like two hundred pounds a shelf. I’ve had it in my laundry room since we moved here. I need to clean it out and all around it. But I haven’t gotten to that yet. And I only have my husband, me and three dogs here. But it seems like I get nothing accomplished. Plus my husband sometimes takes my granddaughter to work. Which messes up my sleep in the morning. Because the dogs bark when he comes back. I’m not an early riser. I stay up late and sleep in. At least I try to. We don’t have a garage. Our messy room is our office. My husband collects a lot of things, I call it crap. And we have nowhere to put it. Our sheds are both full. So unless we get another shed it will be in the office. Maybe I should tell him to look into a shed. The rest of our house is clean. And you can’t walk in the office. He was doing something in there the other morning and woke me up. We need a garage. But we’re never going to have one here. My husband wanted to put like the poles and stretchy material that’s like a carport. He wanted to put it in our front yard. And I said no. He hit me with it again today. And I said no. At our old house our grange was just gross. Full of spiders and bugs. I parked my car in there when we first moved in. But when I sold my car our garage fell apart. It was gross. I tried to never go in there. When I get done watching this video I’m going to go take a look into the office. I’m sure it’s still a mess. I bought two of those black shelves to go in the office. One was supposed to be for him, and one for me. But he took both shelves. And there’s not even that much on them. If there’s a space I will get another shelf for my stuff. He says it’s all my things anyway. And I know it isn’t. You need to deflate in the inflatables. Then you can store them in something smaller. Or keep the inflated. And put some kind of hooks you can hang them on. Well, you can walk inside the office but that’s as far as you can get. I have stuff I would like to get rid of in the office. I may be blue to get in the and get to it now. That might help. But my husband will just put more god stuff in there.
Used bedding and towels can be donated to local animal rescues/shelters. They always need these items. I drop bags at PetsMart and they give them to rescues/shelters. This video is a reminder that I have to go to our storage unit and purge there. We don’t have basements here in Florida; and our attic is useless. That chore will take me a while.
Good point! I was born and raised in FL and just recently moved up here and I think cluttered garages in FL are more common and not as “OMG THAT PERSON IS A SLOB” There’s literally no where else to put stuff down there. Our attic was the same way (and still is) a few feet in and it’s full. I’m honestly overwhelmed with the extra space (basement) and still trying to figure out how to use it but not make it look like my garage. 🥲
You can get a small put together shed for pretty reasonable price, put it by your pool, or somewhere in your backyard where it looks nice and keep all your seasonal stuff, like inflatables in that
Sorry you were embarrassed but im glad you uploaded the video! It was soooo satisfying to see the transformation! I know its not done yet but you have made soooo much progress. You should def feel good!! It actually now has given me my to do list for today...reorganize shed🤣🤣. I do it like once a year and now that its mowing season again its the perfect time.
I was sooo embarrassed and the fact that I shared footage back in October and didn’t get back to it until April just made it worse. Major walk of shame 🥲😂 I’m so excited to be making organizational progress now though!! Once things have a home, it will be so much less stressful!
@@brandynicole awwwwww...life happens!!!!! Especially when you're a mom and a wife. It's a marathon not a sprint. Try and remember to give yourself some grace🤗🤗🤗
Shocking……..BUYING WAY TOO MUCH AND WASTING TOO MUCH MONEY! I HOPE YOU HAVE A EMERGENCY MONEY STASH! I. just can’t understand this !!! Usually people have cluttered stressed out minds too….. This is what I have witnessed with friends….I say this all with love and respect. ☮️☮️☮️
My garage doesn't say anything about me as a person. It says a lot about my husband as a person (he is a hoarder). I cleaned 1/4 of the garage out last year and my husband looks in the garbage tote after I got through that and said "why are you throwing away that perfectly good lid". Ugh!
I 100% get that!!! It’s so incredibly hard! My husband and I are very different when it comes to what we keep. He keeps everything, and now my son does too and my little McKenzie has started saying that I have to keep all the things. I have to hide stuff in the garbage!
Put everything you don’t want in your driveway and put a garage sale sign up, it will go, what doesn’t take to your local thrift or Salvation Army, or anything that takes donations
Hey! Watching you clean is satisfying. But can I give a bit of advice, you need to use your vertical space. Use over head storage for things u don't use all the time. Twin sheets list as much on fb marketplace & give yourself 3 weeks & then just donate bc it's clutter in your brain. Plus I'm sure you'll label all ur bins. Love ur channel
Thank you!! Labels are a must! Oh and clear bins! 🤩 I 1000% agree with the vertical space!!! I can't decide how to use it though 😫 We have a massive car storage topper for road trips and I saw a thing on amazon that lets you use a pulley system for it...Then it hangs rom your ceiling until its time to put it back on... That may be too much use of vertical space for my brain though... 😂 My husband was all for it since he has to bring it back and forth from our shed lol I'm thinking something above the fridge for coolers, seasonal garage bins, etc would be perfect though! I'm going to look into that now 👀
Why are you keeping all the big furniture ? If it doesn’t have a place in your house , sell it, or donate it, your garage will never look better, if you just keep moving everything from corner to corner, just sayin, I personally move everything out, I mean everything, then ONLYput back what you mean to keep, then deal with everything leftover, right then. Do not put it back in the garage.
If you want to keep the China cabinet and other large furniture, but don't have anything in them, use them for storage of smaller things. That way it'll look neater and you'll always know where things are.
About that.. 😂 I like to collect things that I “plan” to flip… 😬 I am still getting our furniture figured out in this house though and swapping items out so that’s not helping either. I just recently got a dining room table on FB marketplace, so I want to redo our old table (it’s made out of scrap 2x4’s and 2x6’s) to make it more outside friendly for our back deck. The large China hutch I got for $50 and I have the design in my head for it, I just have to make the time to do it. A few pieces will be decluttered in next week’s video though, so I’m super excited for some space back!
YES!!! I forgot about that! I’m getting ready to downsize on the amount of blankets I keep for our dogs too, so I’m definitely going to start a donation box! Thank you!!
100%!!! Having the 6 month gap in cleaning sessions was honestly SO HELPFUL for my brain. I'm literally throwing/recycling/donating/selling all the things!!!
