This is why I like specialty combat sports, like Tae Kwon Do is kicking only. boxing is hands only and Jui Jitsu is ground only. With those specialty sports you see some really nice techniques in each. The kicking combos in this clip look slow from the side, but when you’re in front of the person that’s doing it to you, it’s a whole different story.
Taekwondo is not kicks only, just WT (olympic style) TKD is. ITF Style, the ones you see with black stripes in their clothes and gloves in their hands, there punches are used very much, especially to the face.

I don't know the rules now... If I don't care points but target on KO chances. Can I fall down to avoid counter after some flying kick moves? Coz I watched some KO vids just like that. Maybe it's quite dirty but also a safe way to win...?
New rules state that you're allowed to fall during spinning kicks without receiving a gam-jeom. However, I don't think it would be a very effective strategy! 😁
why not? they fake kicks so the opponent has no clue what to expect. but I do agree, tkd in recent years got quite spoiled, but I am sure it will get back to its roots and even better
@@XAE_A_Xii 👍 yea. I saw in TKD DEFENCE a movement in that direction. the Olympic TKD was lost by eliminating punches and watching people kick and fall. today TKD is classified as a martial sport and no longer as a martial art
Are you allowed to even throw a punch?? Real question. Seems like there’s plenty of opportunity as a counter when missed kick leaves opponent too close.
U have to put your hands up for the guard it will help you to block the kicks i don't know why they keep thier hands down while fighting because a powerful kick can break your jaws
Quase 10 minutos de vídeo, vi 14 K.O de Taekwondo, os demais foram somente toques ou empurrões no capacete, ou K.O de outros esportes como Kyokishin, Muaythay, e até mesmo TDK ITF... Pratiquei bastante esse esporte, porém o que me fez "desgostar" foi a falta de "pegada" campeonatos aonde vê o povo encostando nós protetores e gritando para comemorar o "ponto"... Sei lá...
I was on the US National team in 2003 to 2004. I don't like this idea where if I can just play tag I get points. As in if I can just touch my foot to your head I get points. Meanwhile I'm totally sloppy. I fall down. Its clearly not a real kick with any technique .. But since my foot tapped or grazed or touched your head. While I'm completely doing something weird and not meant and off balanced and look like gumby and literally have no skill. Well I still get praise and points. Its getting ridiculous. Its literally just playing tag with my foot. Its no longer about technique or skill. Rather Just tag with feet. Its becoming a laughing stalk. And ridiculous. Literally if I can just put my foot somewhere regardless of however it happens. And do it enough times I win. The sport won't succeed this way. Its literally like we have allowed players to cheat and yet we say well how do you judge that. I think we all know how. I think in any make sport they won't reward these things as sufficient strikes. It shouldn't just be about putting your foot somewhere. Rather taekwondo and god taekwondo. Like the old days. In my days we still had good tkd and it was becoming this. It was so much fun to watch. When someone did a spin kick and landed. Sure maybe they might of fallen but they always had timing spacing and technique. Not this rubber band grumpy looking stuff that everyone falls and does something weird to just graze a helmet. Its not solid contact. Maybe a big toe grazed and we cheer and salute literally those who don't have skill but are getting away with cheating. Make them work for points. Make the sport a sport that is encouraging to those with skill and balance and timing and technique. Not this bullshit
