Jonny is honestly one of the few that has gone from traditional media to social media and is really good at it. May it be reviews like this one, in-depth geeky videos, updates on his personal fleet or anything involving Richard Porter. It's always enjoyable.
@@TheLateBrakeShow I can’t believe you don’t have a sponsor yet. Are people mental? This channel will be going places with it’s amazing and very well shot content. You were born to do this Jonny with you calm yet very witty and knowledgable style.
Yes exactly I thought about this all the time. First location. Very nice shooting. Very nice seen locations and at all moments. Very good job. Sound has improved a lot Jonny. Image quality also did. Overall the whole picture and scenery has been great. Good job team!
I had one of the original 500es! Glad you mentioned that one. It was my first-ever EV, I leased one here in San Diego from 2014 to 2017 for my 60-mile round-trip commute. It was a really fun little car, and with some creative packing, could fit my entire drum set in the back, leaving the passenger seat open. I wish they added DC charging and more range over the years, but they didn't seem interested. Ended up replacing it with an i3, and then a Model 3 after that. This looks like a perfect successor. I kind of hope it makes it back here one day, I might just have one in my driveway again...
@@LoneWolf-wp9dn actually in Italy the price now starts from 16.000 (with government incentives) and I know that in UK Fiat 500e will costs starting from 22£
@@piergentililuca2905 how can there be such a huge difference? what is the government incentive there 20k? any way the top models do go to 40k euros... its ridiculous for such a small car
Jonny I think your decision to diversify your own channel has been a great success. You never know what kind of vehicle your going to get from week to week. Keeps it spicy 😅. Loving the production these days too.
This channel is TV quality on You Tube. As others have said the production quality is fantastic. Sponsorship highly deserved and I wish you every success, Jonny !
Johnny’s warmth and humour make his videos stand out. The real push of content recently is also excellent, and this has become one of my favourite channels.
I have the 2017 500c Abarth and I was considering what electric car I would buy in addition to my Abarth. The only electric option that speaks to me in the US is the Tesla for its performance, but if there was an Abarth version of the 500e, I would do everything to get it in the US.
If this is anything to go by styling-wise, I'm super excited to see what they do with the Panda.

@@briandowling8372 It could be a really cool car. I really hope FCA can get through it, they've looked a bit lost and out of touch with their origins lately. I'd really like to have speedy & small EVs, with the compromise between practicality, style and that touch of sympathy than only FIAT had.
Jonny, fantastic review. You've got great charisma, and your transition from TV to Internet media really shows how great of a car journalist you can be. Really hope you can get a few sponsors on board shortly. You really deserve it! I love this channel!
It is, but while I can still pick up a mint 2 year old BMW M140i for less money, I intend to do so. One day it won't be an option, and this stunning little car (and its ilk) will be the only choice you'll have. I'll enjoy it when the time comes, but I'm not done enjoying the rare treats we already have on the menu :-)
@@darknewt9959 well said! Just bought an 18month 335d fully loaded for 20k euro6 clean as and goes very well indeed thank you. Until these over priced milf floats come down in price I think I will leave these and trinkets for the middle classes to buy and pretend they are making a difference
I don't like new cars, I'm not in a position to purchase any of the cars... but I still sit and watch Jonny's reviews. The best real life car content maker on RU-vid in my opinion. Keep the vids coming!
The Late Brake Show is my favourite show at the moment (on any platform). High production quality, interesting topics and Johnny! You're a ledge, keep up the good work!
How Jonny is continuing to put out this level of quality content each week is so impressive. It’s so well thought out, well shot and that’s not a moments work. Don’t forget to sleep Jonny but stunning work!
@@alanmay7929 I love the Honda E, probably more than the 500e but is it way better stylistically? I tend to like the Honda e a little bit more but I can totally see how someone might like the FIAT more. The inside of the Honda E is a bit cooler and funkier, the inside of the FIAT maybe a little bit more stylish. The outside of the Fiat is more elegant and cuter whilst the outside of the Honda is more interesting (modern?). Both great cars really.

@@ewadge The 500e seems to be in sort of a middle ground. Stylish, but not too fancy (although it looks good, it's not a fridge), range and "ev stuff" pretty good, but not excelent, and for an attractive price. I think FIAT here got the best compromise.
Thank you for the COMPREHENSIVE video description!! I often check it to find additional info and find them lacking. Also THANK YOU for properly using the time links for the chapters of the video. And thank you for your wonderful, wonderful videos!
All enjoyable production values aside, what really stands out for me is that Jonny is not the usual kind of talented and knowledgeable RU-vidr, but a proper journalist who really knows how to tell a story, how to deliver facts and how to make a point. I don't even drive a car or want one but I watch your videos with pleasure.
Excellent video! Just watched Full Charged video and I honestly think yours is much better (not saying Robert did a bad job). Bravo , keep up the great videos.
Great technical review, this is why we watch you Jonny. Watched another review from a well-known channel just before this. Hands down, this is the more informative review!
Jonny, the variety and authenticty of your storytelling is knocking all other "so-called" automotive influence into a cocked hat, with their formulaic, self-congratulatory nonsense falling well behind your engaging and genuine approach. Seriously, well done and thank you for your work.
This was made so well! The quality of the production is top notch! Truly enjoy watching your videos. I have seen plenty of "TV" shows that are nowhere near as well made as this.
The first of your reviews that I have seen. As a prospective ev purchaser (albeit maybe not a new car), I found the review informative, interesting and unbiased, as they should be. Well done. I like the car also!
What a great little car, I think it's really cool! Also, the cinematography and graphics are coming along in leaps and bounds, it's a serious quality production now - Nice job Jonny!!
Superb presentation. In depth, knowledgeable review with style and humour. I love the tie-in with Birmingham's old Italian quarter and doesn't Jonny carry the Peaky Blinders look with bravura.
I vowed as a teenager that I'd never own another Fiat after several painful years with my disastrous 124 sport coupe, which was more rust than steel at the end. My favorite part of the video is Mendelssohn's 'Italian' Symphony, which is so evocative and quietly reflective. As nice as the car is, I'll take the symphony any day of the week. Jonny of course, is excellent as always.
Hands down the best motoring journalist on the scene at the moment ! (not monitoring hahah) Johnny’s style of presenting is a great mix between facts and quirky banter - keep up the great work Late Brake Show!
So much more interesting than a normal “ boring” review, really created an atmosphere! Now the bar is set high for future themed reviews!!! Good luck and great work...
Another superb feature Jonny - excellent production values, looks fabulous, never see enough of Lingotto and thanks for setting it in my favourite city!
I really hope the USA will get these, I will buy the long range Cabrio in a heartbeat!! I was planning on buying a used EV this year, but this is apparently the same price (after incentives) as my budget. I would very much prefer the 500e Cabrio over the Chevy Bolt...I really hope it’s available soon, need a new car after the pandemic.🤞😁
Another great video from Jonny Smith! Former 2014 500e owner from the U.S. here. Current GM Bolt EV owner. My two favorite new EV's have to be the Honda e & the new 500e. And tie for third, would be the Zoe & e-up. All of which, are un-available in U.S. Maybe... I need to move. Cheers
@@UhOhUmm the zoe only has a better autonomy, a field in which the 500 e is eventually 2nd. In the quality and technology the fiat is better (also because it came out later). Talking about the design, the 500e is definitely better.
Jonny Smith is the only man who should review (electric) cars. Can't watch FC without him anymore. He has a great eye for design and is competent to the satisfaction. Just love him.
Most probably FIAT500e will compete in city car ICE segment together with Honda E as John stated while VW is competing in its own bigger category. No new EV is going to steal sales from each other but rather from ICE versions. That is great since, let's face it, the choice range in EV is far less than in ICE world for now so the more EV choices the better. And by the way, despite drone views for this car made in California for its commercials online, the car itself will not be available for sale in North America unfortunately. So no global audience for now sadly.
Robert won’t appreciate me saying this Jonny but your review is way more in depth and a much better review. This looks like a very well thought out car. Whenever i here the word sherpa I think of the old van too. 😄 I must say the headlight design is bloody lovely!
Some beautiful filming here, making use of that harsh morning light (especially that early 'scene' as Jonny drives through that tall archway... a TV advert' quality shot...) Fratello signor Rock-Perring. This 500ev is going to sell like espressos on a cold morning, quite deservedly too. Interesting competitors, each really reflecting it's country of origin I think...? Good work all round Late Brakers.
Finally this show (not a channel... a soon-to-be-picked-up show) is getting the production values it deserves. Amazing quality and flow, second only to Mat Watson and Chris Harris.
The quality of your videos is so good. Your genuine passion and knowledge about cars really shines trough. Humble and personable too. Can't belive your not sponsored yet.
technically the 500 already is 11:14... but I think the same- at the moment EVs seem to be a good secondary car- but cost more than your main car... which is exaggerated by the fact that there is only a questionable used car market for EVs- so in my mind I compare new EV prizing with preowned petrol cars.
@@ScottPC Exactly, I don't need all these fancy screens and stuff, just give me a reliable EV with decent range and the ability to rapid charge for less than 20k
The production values of this video are outstanding. The use of the slides to show vehicle comparisons and represent information graphically was really informative. Great work.
@@kidoctane That's true but the Arbath edition 500 was the top of the line limited edition. Not focused at the wider small car market, the electric 500 here is focused at the wider small car market. So when the base model costs almost as much as as an Arbath then questions need to be asked about what you're getting in return.
@@mylesclark1757 Hum - the Abarth 500/595/695 is a somewhat of a mainstream version - there have been some limited edition versions (like the outrageously priced Biposto). Although not a huge seller its been a consistent seller for over 10 years. My point is that while the 500e is undoubtedly pricey now there are ppl who will pay that sort of money for an interesting small car. It is early days for the EV market so all EV cars are pricey - the 500e seems competitively priced against its opposition. I expect that over time that EV car prices will reduce as numbers increase and they become more mainstream Me - assuming that the 500e is released in my country (Australia) and its priced comparable to an Abarth .......Hello and take my $$$
Wonderful review. This has quickly become my nr 1 go to channel for car reviews. Jonny knows his stuff, whilst striking a great balance between being serious about the facts and being entertaining. This channel made me order a Mini Electric. I personally prefer the Mini, but the Fiat and the Honda E are great lookers too! The more we see of these three cars on the road, the better.
I don't know who filmed this for you but I have to say that was a superb piece of work. Being fairly local it was strange seeing a review set in Digbeth but it was excellent. The car look great too.
I watched back to back The Late Brake & Fully Charged reviews of the 500e ... Jonny you get the thumbs up from me, more real life detail excellently put across in a blinding manner.
To be honest I'm not even sure I want to watch FC review, now that I've seen this one. Is FC review full of Roberts sound impressions and rants range? And let me guess, unnecessary comparison to Tesla?
Another great video Jonny, well done! I saw on the charts showing recharge times, there were these pie charts with clocks on them. I'm not sure what they were trying to show, just some feedback. Thanks again for the great episode!
Can we all just be thankful that Jonny decided to go out on his own to explore his creative side? I feel like the quality of the videos (which already are good) are improving with each video. Excuse the love letter , I'm just grateful for the content .
I also reviewed the Fiat 500e cabrio in my channel and I have to say, I was impressed with how Fiat has managed to maintain the classic style whilst being modern at the same time! But I also feel like it does come at a price, and that too less practicality solutions!
I’m only 2 minutes into this video and I just have to say that I appreciate the production and thoughts that you included in this video. The history, comparison, specs and tour of the Fiat are spectacular. By far the greatest 500e video.
