How Kawasaki doesn't sell a million of these is crazy, you get all sorts of cool technology and modern day gadgets and gizmos for a crazy competitive price!
I am seriously considering buying this because my zx6r was just totaled because my ignorance to idiots turning left in intersections…he was at fault and I’m thankful to live to ride another day, but damn!..the 1000sx is a great investment
She’s got about the same power as the zx6r too, same suspension in the front and heavier weight but way more comfortable! I’m glad you’re healthy abs able to ride!
About that windshield, for potential buyers, i have a 2022 with the touring shield which is just slightly taller and wider than stock. I’m 6’2” on the longish torso side of things and quite broad and I’ve ridden this bike at 75mph into 30+ mph headwinds for hours with that touring shield in the low position. My helmet is in clean air, and nothing is buffeted by turbulence. I’ve had a lot of motorcycles, (lotta BMWs) and always wrestled with air flow. Kawasaki nailed clean air dynamics on this machine.
Good review. I just got a ninja1000sx 2024 model and i love it. It is smooth, comfortable riding position, and powerful and fast. I love the torque. I also like the lights. Low beam both are on. It feels light and nimble. It looks nice also. I live in Alabama in the USA.
Hey Rick, I am about to upgrade from my Ninja 400. I'm seriously considering a new 1000sx. Only been riding about 2 years however. How did you find the jump in terms of weight and power ? I was considering a Versys 650 as my next jump but wondering if I would get tired of it and should just jump to the 1000. What are your thoughts ?
Excellent question! I was on the fence between the Versys 650 & the 1000sx. For me, it came down to what are you ultimately looking for, I rented a Versys 650 and rode the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway). Great bike, smooth easy power, regular gas, very predictable calm riding bike. The 1000sx is a step further, more horsepower, yet a super smooth engine, ALL the technology you would want… cruise control, IMU (saved me at least 3 times!) ride modes. The 1000sx was my forever bike, does it all, calm enough to grow into, yet powerful enough to keep up with superbikes!… all while keeping you in a comfortable riding position. So, if you feel really comfortable on that 400 and want to step up to the ultimate sport touring bike, there is no better choice than the 1000 SX. If you feel like you need an intermediate step and would like to save money on gas and insurance, and not go too overboard, the Versys would be the right choice.o
Thanks Rick, I take it you must live in the US, as you refer to the PCH. I live in Australia like kwakajack and unfortunately the new Versys 650, offered here, is a resrticted (LAMS) version with only 54 HP. Don't know why this country would only offer a castrated version of a touring bike. In any case, I plan on doing some long hall touring trips here in oz with a pillion, at a total weight of 340LB ( pillion and rider). It appears the 1000sx may be the bike then as the restricted Versys may be a bit asthmatic on the freeway with 2 up, even if I remove the restrictions. I guess maybe I will possibly need to ride around in rain mode until I get accustomed to it. Thanks for the feedback. Cheers Buddy 😀
Been looking for a fellow Aussie biker to follow. Looking at getting my motorcycle licence and a motorcycle within the next 12 months. Leaning towards the Ninja 400 for my first bike. Good videos mate. Subbed!
I have just bought this bike in the same colour, having owned a Suzuki gsxs1000gt for 18 months. but I say this bike rides so much better than my Suzuki it feels very flickable when you want to corner, it's nimble and comfortable.
3:00 erm... No... Ride modes cannot magically change the gearing of the transmission... They can certainly remap your throttle, but they cant change the RPM at a given speed and a given gear XD
I bought my 2023 ninja 1000sx in Feb. Since then, I replaced the stock headers and exhaust and had it tuned along with new air filter and velocity stacks. Absolutely love this bike. Soon much fun.i get compliments EVeRYWHERe I go , without fail. If anyone is looking at this bike....just do it.
I have the 2021 model and not a fan of the colour set up, too much green on the front end , this new model has nailed it . please make some videos as you customize the bike
Got a 2019 model, did about 290km, from Brissy to Hervey Bay, trip up stopped twice, once for breaky & the other for fuel & trip back, just stopped once half way for fuel again Imo this bike does everything well, it's comfortable yet also sporty, it's a 1000cc chonker, but nothing insanely powerful like a ZX10 or R1, just wish they kept the dual exhaust in the newer models like they did with my 2019 one
3:01 Cruising at ~100km/h at ~4200rpm When you say if you put the bike in a different map mode it brings the rpm down a bit, how does that work exactly?
It doesn’t bring the rpms down, I believe he misspoke lol the gearing can only change on the fly with an automatic. It does change the throttle response.
I have the old version.. Seems to me they iron out the flaws almost to perfection. There's only a few times when I feel regret. When I can't keep up with my buddies pure super sports bike and hyper bike like busa. 😂
Hi Bro! Happy new year! I love you vídeos because I also have a ninja 400. I wanna jump to the zx6r, I am 6'2 and I don't know if I gonna be able to adapt myself to the zx6r posture. I know that are diferent bikes but I don't know wich one I should pick,if the zx6r or this 1000sx. Let me know your personal thoughts. Thank you very much, big hug.
I have the 2023 ninja 1000sx and I love it. I would say u would definitely be getting the more reliable, equipped with more features bike with the ninja over the indian
Two totally different bikes, one is a sport/performance tourer and the other one is a heavy weight cruiser. Which one you need for your riding preference?
I have a Ninja 650, thinking about upgrading to this in the next 1-2 years. I'm 6'2, I looked at the specs for both bikes. I think the 1000sx will suit me more.
Was in doubt regarding this bike and the h2 sx se, test drove them both, found this bike (in comparison) a bit dull and underpowered hence am the owner of the h2 now 🙏
Mine was the same. When dealer sells the bike, has to register it on the computer as in service mode. If dealer forgets to do this like in my case the check engine light will come on.
