Mr. Toad's Wild Ride Post Refurb POV at the Disneyland Park in California shot in 4K 60FPS! Mr. Toad's Wild Ride is a classic dark ride attraction in Fantasyland at the Original Magic Kindom, Disneyland! In this wild ride, guests will board a motor vehicle and spiral out of control, bursting through walls, whizzing by massive explosions, and straight into an oncoming train! Mr. Toad's Wild Ride recently went through a substantial refurbishment, fixing up much of the facade and refreshing many of the interior elements of the attraction. Mr. Toad's Wild Ride is a fun attraction for the entire family, it typically has the shortest waits among all the Fantasyland Dark rides

i’m so glad you posted this!! you have the absolute best povs of mr toad. i absolutely love this ride and it looks great after the refurbishment, especially the exterior. yes it’s just been touched up here and there, but i’m mainly talking about the fixed props and effects, so much was broken just a few months ago and i’m glad they fixed it the main thing i’m glad about is the scaffolding scene, last time i was there a couple months ago it was completely broken and static, i’m happy that it’s finally fixed now plus one of the guys on it has a new repainted face i noticed. also the explosion sounds are finally back, which i’m sure you noticed as you’ve had to improvise the sound effects on other videos when it was broken lol

This attraction is very interesting, because it's based on the 1949 movie, The Wind in the Willows. In fact, I have the pin in my shadow box at home. FantasyLand and ToonTown hold a lot of memories for theme park guests of all ages even though they need a lot of refurbishments once in a while.

The show building got a paint refresh, the policemen now shine a light at you after the cop yells “STOP”, the explosion room got repainted, the town square got a fresh coat of paint, lady justice has been repainted, one chimney sweeper got a repaint, some town men got a repaint, the little devils got some new grimes look to them. The ride looks fantastic. However the fiery souls effect was not working.

Yeah it is and that’s a great sign! It was the last ride not to have digital projection. Granted they probably can’t afford to replace it anymore

Well they can fix everything but systems a system and us prone to recieve a bug that can cause a breakdown so refurbishments dont make it happen less, refurbishments are like sprucing up and general maintenance for the vehicles.

Refurbs won't stop hats from falling off of riders and triggering intrusion beams, or getting caught in mechanisms, or blocking sensors, or degrading show... If you're a ride operator like me, you probably hate hats because of the ridiculous amount of downtimes we get from them 🤦

@@kieranhayag9107 Have to admit that hats never came up in my RCT scenarios other than selling them. Never encountered hats in any of my refurb work (though I worked on mostly music gear and not rides). I did encounter sandwiches, spiders, half eaten bananas, and crack pipes, but no hats. Thanks for the reality check.

I just realized how sped up everything is. Like they speed up and slow down the road depending? Because this feels very fast and I’ve been on this ride and watched plenty of videos

Looks like mostly just paint and polish. Maybe some lighting enhancements too, but it’s hard to tell. Otherwise Mr Toad looks great!

Nice to see its still black lights and plywood instead of projectors and video screens. The old style darkrides a big part of what make Disney Land a special place imo.

⁠⁠@@candycabngflI think the nature of this ride prevents it from having the addition of video screens just on the fact that much of the ride involves close calls with characters and objects. It really wouldn’t evoke the same effect given the tight space if they even tried it. If they ever brought this attraction back to WDW it would be cool if Disney was able apply the trackless system and maybe invoke animatronics if possible somehow. I’m not sure what the logistics behind it would be, but it would really way of pushing the attraction to new heights.
