Would like to point out - it's not just about the nostalgia factor; there really is nothing that rides the way a Bullet does, not even the Classic. It's something about the seat and handlebar combination that makes the posture just about right and gives you balance akin to a bicycle, but with a motor. You gotta own, ride and live with one to know what I'm talking about, it might not even register on a first ride - cheers from Chennai 😊
This! I've realised the new age reviewers rarely understand or appreciate what that feel of a 350 is.. I've owned a bullet that'd sometimes break down and all the other hassles, but the memories with that one far exceeds the subsequent refined motocycles I've owned. Now I'm going back to the roots!
Yep, just like my 1990 bullet. Except for the engine, frame, brakes, suspension, looks and of course it’s now owned by Eicher Motors. Other then that identical to mine!
I was not alive in the 50's so I feel no nostalgia towards the classic style bikes. But I think they are beautiful. The color options are better on the classic, but I think Im sold on the bullet for its big seat and standard heel and toe shifter.
bullet or classic twins might get a bit of negative reaction though. 500 J to keep it an a/c single as suggested elsewhere in comments would be a v good idea.
The Hunter’s wheels are too small. Legs are too short so it struggles to achieve the speed limit on the open road. The Bullet 350 is by far the best finished and nicest feeling of the 350s.
Finish looks great on the bullet looks cheap as chips on the hunter unfortunately!. Bullet still to expensive though especially with the new Triumphs on the scene.😮
Great video as always, I suppose there not right at the bottom of crap manufacturing, one up from Chinese rubbish that we are seeing more and more in bikes and cars.
Royal Enfield seem to be making top class bikes for those who want no nonsense bikes. Economical, simple, and fun. Never ridden one. But am appreciating the style. 350cc and 107 mpg is amazing and a 300 mile range - that is superb.
I think for my money this is the one to get, it just looks so old school stylish. If you are going to have a lower power bike, might as well have that authentic old school look. I have not ridden any RE’s as they are not imported here, but at Christmas we are going on holiday and I may be able to rent either a Hunter or an Interceptor 650.
Hunter is, obviously, a better option. But, I don't understand this model instead the Classic 350. It seems only the seat is the only one difference. Why a new model if it is the same as another one? 🤔 Good video 👌✌️
Hi, probably very low development costs and as they sell bucket loads of bikes worldwide, giving more choice will probably increase sales even more to a more traditional buyer. More choice has to be a good thing. 👍🏻
The primary reason is continuation of the “Bullet” badge, which has kept RE profitable for more than 6 decades after it closed shop in the UK, and enjoys tremendous sentimental value in its domestic market of India. They’ll always ensure the nameplate stays relevant, even though this bike could very well be sold as a variant of the Classic 350. Personally I feel the Bullet is more authentic to its heritage than the Classic. Cheers!
It rides very different to the classic. The seat position is more to the rear compared to the classic, the bullet is better if you are a bit taller. The classic is a bit cramped for me. Also, I like the rear fender shape more of the bullet.
Spot on. That's what riding the Bullet is all about. Chug along at a decent, safe speed, take in the passing scenery, let the throb of the long stroke single fill your ears and generally enjoy the ride.
Incorrect, millions of people ride with no more than this every day, in Africa they ride sometimes with a family of four on a Bajaj with less horse power than this.
Exactly, I don't really get the point of having 350 with 20hp... It's basically the bigger and heavier but just as slow as 125cc, and where I'm from you only need a B license to ride 125, so...
@@fiucik1 I used to have Yamaha SR400, and now got Bullet 350. And could say, Yamaha was too small and light for me, it feels like there's not enough motorcycle. Meanwhile, Bullet is pleasantly heavy, and looks serious enough with it's duplex frame. Yeah, it's for people who don't care about speed, just love to ride slowly
the Royal Enfield Bullet is a nostalgic bike. my uncle would ride with me in the front while i was probably around 6-7 yrs old and he would let me hold the handles while on a straight road. Those twin lights above the headlight are just something that that i can only relate to the bullet. My uncle is no more and i remember him when i see this bike. i would def buy this one day!
It's just a shame they cannot get these 350's up to about 30 BHP to give them that bit more "get-up and go"... but then with all these speed limits being reduced what's the point you may ask...
These are torque machines, they have more go below 5500 rpm you don't need to wring out the engine. It's more of a relaxed experience than a quick one.
this is a model that grow on you, when i first know something about royal enfield, i find the classic and especially the bulllit the ugliest bikes of the brand, and find the himalayan, continental gt and interceptor the nicets ones. i start saving for a continental gt but the time pass and ended with a classic 500, the model start growing on me and find it beautiful, in that time still find the bullit the ugliest one but time has pass and im starting to like what i see
You are talking absolute Tommy Rot about the performance of this Bike, I can tell you, As a Motorcyclist with 50 years experience, I currently own a Royal Enfield Interceptor and Hunter, The Hunter (with the same J series engine), is capable of easily cruising at 65 MPH With a top speed of over 70 mph, And well capable of over taking vehicles 50/60mph More than enough for UK roads, Except for motorways, Not everyone is interested in horse power or looking out for speed traps? Some people have learned the true enjoyment of riding a Motorcycle ✌️👍 Cheers Paul Foster
Ridden the Classic. It would be a great commuter, every day runner. It's reasonably ok performance-wise in town or even tight country lanes. Might get a bit worrying on dual-carriageways and motorways though owing to lack of outright power. Comfy bike to ride however and everything works; decent brakes, strightforward controls, reassuring handling and decently grippy tyres. If I was living and working in an urban setting, I would definitely consider one of the J series 350's as a 'ride to work' bike, easy home maintenance and good fuel economy. And on a price-point comparable with a Japanese 125. Might need an Interceptor for the weekends though! Love and peace.
The way the uk is going 20mph speed limits everywhere (already 20mph all of wales) the smaller 350cc models of RE are becoming more & more appealing, yea there not gonna win the IOM TT but there gonna win a lot of people over & its just a matter of time the other MC Companies will wake up to the world wide changes!
Not sure about about waking up, the Japanese haven't engaged with electric bikes and you'd think they would, but now they are not recognising RE are producing bikes people want. They are not followingand may get left out of the equation soon.
The Hunter 350 looks cheap with all that plastic. There's a type of Royal Enfield buyer who prefers all metal bikes, and for them the Bullet and Classic exist.
What a beautiful bike!! But only 20hp? I live in Dallas and would be scared to ride this thing on our chaotic streets. Give me 10 more HP and we're in like Flynn!
A bit more pep..... Then use the holy trinity of upgrades for the J-series engine the dna performance air filter and cover and the fuel X lite or pro and a de-cat exhaust 😊
@@Alex_mkII not about bhp on these enfield's it's about freeing up the engine to breath and improve the mid range pick up and torque through the gears 😊
You can buy a Bullet seat and fit it to the Classic, what I am doing, I have ordered the dark brown touring Bullet seat to fit on my Halcyon Green Classic 😊
Hunter is correct. Others way to heavy for power/torque output. An extra grand I could live with if bikes came with wire spoked tubeless rims and tubeless tyresas standard Have a great new year. 🍻🥂🤪
Bullet is a better quality bike. And it's built better too. Also the bullet is targetted at an audience that doesn't want to go very fast. If you want to travel comfortably at slower speeds. The bullet is for you
Pas mal mais un des problèmes avec RE est que quand vous avez un problème d’injection, le système est quasiment irréparable…donc à changer… Nice bike but the problem with Royal Enfield is the injection which is quietly impossible to repair…..
I just do not get the 350cc/400cc city/town bike for the UK market. 125cc has plenty of options (including retro, cruisers, and scramblers) and can be sold to anybody with a CBT if you get bored.
The issue there is if you live somewhere that has hills you are stuck at 50 up a hill and 125s have no torque so constantly have go go up and down gears
@highlandrab19 most cities/towns in the UK are 20/30 MPH with some two lane roads 40 MPH (like the one I was on in Edinburgh today) if there are 50 MPH city/town roads that are uphill I have never found them.🤣
