I just took delivery of the 2024 GMC HD AT4 Duramax 3500. This is my 5th HD truck that I have owned, and all I can say is WOW!! It is so nice, it rides like a half ton and this new upgraded Duramax is great. Lots of low-end power compared to the older models. It is hard to describe, you will just have to drive one to get this WOW feeling. GM knocked it out of the park on this one.
Love the gas version don't need a diesel. Great video as always. In the future when you review vehicles can you also pop open the hood and do a scan of the engine compartment just like to see how the layout is of the motors. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the videos.
I’m a Ram kinda guy since 2009 model years but to not admit GMC stepped up the game would be a disservice! That truck is BEAUTIFUL inside and out!! Just wish this brute would fit inside my garage because I would hands down be ordering one today!!
I just bought the exact truck today. It's an absolute badass beast. Pick it up Friday when it's registered. Videos don't do this truck justice. It's unbelievable in person. I will say I did test drive a 2500 diesel a couple months back. The diesel feels way stronger. I'm getting the Pulsar LT to hopefully make it feel more responsive.
Just had mine built last Monday! So glad you were finally able to review my truck! Got the exact same specs on it. IF I wanted to complain, id say im sad there is no super cruise even though they have it in the 1500s... and the color options suck. I wanted a maroon color. Also weird that the cup holder seems far. But honestly I LOVE the truck and im so excited to get it hopefully the end of next month!!!!
I am not 100% sure, but I believe the fender flare lights are required in some states. Smaller body mounted LED lights should have been installed instead. That is one badass truck. Great review. Thanks.
The lights on the fenders were why I ordered a 2022 Chevy with the Z71 sport over the GMC. LIKED GMC grill better but just couldn’t do the fender lights.
Love this truck but I’m still having a hard time deciding if I like the head lights and tail lights, they remind me of the ebay aftermarket lights but then again those do look pretty neat at times 😂
Beautiful truck! IMO black wheels suck unless you are 10 feet away or closer. Any farther away than that and they lose all definition. The interior looks great! My only complaint, and it's really nitpicking, is the upper glovebox door doesn't have any dampening. I've watched a lot of reviews of the new interior and every time they go to open it I cringe. Maybe it's just me?
GCWR, Payload and Tow Rating? Had been looking at a Denali (not Ultimate). I'm starting to like the AT4 better, provided that it'll pull as well as the Denali.
Every GMC AT4 I've seen a pic of including on the GMC BUild and Price software shows a 9-spoke wheel as standard. However, in the option details it's referenced as an 8-spoke wheel. What's this all about?
Great review on this awesome truck, I was all excited when you said the price I thought this was a diesel at that price. Oh well just wait for the deprecation takes its toll.
They still have a censor issue, purchased my first GMC Sierra 2500 HD AT4 on 10/31/23. When I was finally able to pick it up from dealer, drove it home, next day check engine light came on,e on. Bad censor. None found in the US, GMC has been aware of the censor issue for 2 years. Was told tentative repair date was 12/15/23, but told today new tentative date is 12/29/23, a day after we were to leave for Florida…. Case Managers always end the conversation with: Welcome to the GMC Family, well to be honest, i don’t want to be part of a family who treats the consumer this way. First and Last GMC purchase.
I would like to tell you that if you have a trailer ball installed in the hitch when the tailgate step is lowered it will hit the ball and put a dent in the tailgate which will show when you shut the tailgate. GM needs to put warning about this on the tailgate that shows before the step is lowered. It should also be included in the Owner's Manual. You would think that GM would have caught this problem before letting the trucks go for sale. I sure would not want a dent in my tailgate on that expensive truck.
Just a question Brian. Haven’t seen anything other than black or white 2024’s built. I ordered end of January from my local dealer but haven’t received any confirmation on build. Titanium rush metallic. What’s your thought on production by color?
Is this a 6 1/2 foot bed, or is this one an 8 foot bed? Also, you forgot to mention the wireless charger at that center console. It's not a big deal, I just wanted to let you know.
I don’t understand the argument here it’s real simple. If you’re gonna use this as a work truck constantly towing using payload every day you’re going up and down hills obviously diesel is superior but if you’re going to use it to pull some toys around a toy hauler maybe once every few months it’s gas hands down that it’s a no-brainer because there is a big price difference on those two vehicles.
I don’t know if this is an AT4 issue, but my 2 year old 1500 AT4 drivers side A-arm ball joint just broke. The A-arm cracked and split while I was on the road. LF wheel cocked 45 degrees and stranded me on the interstate and my family. If a driver that wasn’t as experienced as me was driving it could have been deadly. Dealership said this is the 2nd one that they have had to replace. I am thinking of going to a different manufacturer set-up. The aftermarket AT4 looks weak compared to a BDS or similar. Pretty sure the 2500 has torsion springs and no upper A-arm. But I am not impressed with the 1500 AT4.
Not an Allison. GM paid Allison for the right to use the name. I called Allison and verified this. Last true Allison was in 2019 and was the series 1000 6 speed.
The brake controller placement is terrible. It's not to be used unless the vehicle is stationary, thus the immediate reach of it vs cup holder/ junk storage will be a regret of buyers. Also in transit, the gain only gets adjusted a couple of times when going from in town to interstate driving. Let alone this is just for the center console models, which i would argue are for hobbyist that don't pull very often. Seems like a good fidget toy for young adult drivers.
@@Lunarklypse 🤣. The diesel is superior for towing; higher torque, max torque occurs much lower in the power band, superior fuel economy, greater down hill engine braking capability saves brakes, increases safety and significant greater longevity. That is why the majority of semi trucks use diesel engines, not gas engines.
@@icare7151 well then if you knew that the at4 hd 2500 gas tow 18,100 diesel only 17300 mpg barely even noticed a difference with the new transmission and by the way why mention semi trucks when this is about an hd truck? I see you haven’t done your research but that’s fine you buy what you like and I get what I like.
@@Lunarklypse I own Diesel HD trucks and HD gas trucks. Our diesel trucks are superior. The diesel engine weighs more thus towing capacity can be less. Our real world data shows I am 💯 correct.
@@icare7151 still are you not listening I’m talking about this truck not any other truck unless you got a fleet of these hd at4 2500 trucks that’s what I’m talking about no other truck period
lmao! I think the hood line needs to be higher. ffs why are they doing this with trucks? people like horrible forward visibility? guys with small wieners? saw a guy with one of these drive right into a small trailer someone ahead of him was towing because "he forgot it was there" and couldn't see it when at a red light behind the trailer. how many kids are going to get run over by these things?
Someone that doesn't want to spend 10k more for the diesel, spend the price of a gas engine on diesel injectors replacement, and the additional cost of def and regular fuel filter changes. Regens are a giant pain in the ass too. For the recreational tower gas has diesel beat hands down.
This is mind boggling honestly. Even Toyota who is late to the game on everything they do in the truck segment managed to get a pano roof in the tundra before GM could
