I got an fmf 4.1 and the stock spark arrestor/silencer rattled in mine too. FMF also sells a different spark arrestor that i bought for like 30 bucks Its just a screen and doesn't plug up the pipe and it doesn't rattle. It sounds just as loud as if the pipe had nothing in it all.

I remember back in the early 1970's all of us kids knew that if you took the silencer off you instantly gained 5 hp, the louder if was the faster it was and if you had a front fork brace that was another 3 hp.

@@brendanmacdonsld2macdonald48 ya I rode them all. 1/4 I can’t feel with my knees nor could my friend that had the Kawasaki 450. I think it’s more mental for some cause there is no gas cap there. Ppl have measured it compared to some other jap bikes and there wasn’t much of a difference. But the new you can feel. Yes the yz250f was even louder than my yz450. But slap a fmf on and gives it more of a deeper tone. The new Kawasaki 250f sounds exactly like a Yamaha now. lol. Personally everyone should wear ear plugs anyways they are all to loud for our ears. The Yamaha is so awesome cause of tuneability. I left all mine stock cause you can get so much power from them in stock form. Plus the suspension is amazing as well. I’m waiting for my 24 to come in. I rode the new yz450 and absolutely loved it. I was shocked how light it felt in the corner and how effortless it was do put it wherever.
