The 2025 Land Rover Defender introduces significant updates that boost luxury and enhance performance, showcasing a fresh direction for the iconic SUV. The latest model year enhancements place the Defender in closer competition with its upscale sibling, the Range Rover, by offering a richer array of interior features and a more potent engine.
One of the most exciting additions is the Defender 110 Sedona Edition, only available for one year. This model is inspired by the Arizona desert, featuring a distinctive Sedona Red exterior complemented by unique hood decals. It also sports 22-inch alloy wheels in Gloss Black and benefits from an Extended Black Pack, giving it a sharp and modern aesthetic.
In terms of performance, the Defender has been upgraded with the new D350 mild-hybrid diesel engine. This 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine boosts output to 345 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, up from the previous model's figures. This increase in power facilitates smoother towing and more efficient overtaking.
The interior of the 2025 Defender is where luxury truly comes to the fore. The newly available Signature Interior Pack, which is standard on the high-end X, V8, and Sedona Edition trims, includes climate-controlled seats in both rows, accented with redesigned winged headrests. The front seats feature 14-way electric adjustments with memory functions, enhancing comfort and convenience. The upholstery combines Windsor Leather with Kvadrat and Ultrafabrics materials, elevating the overall cabin experience.
For those requiring more flexibility and comfort, the Defender 130 is now available with a Captain Chairs Pack. This configuration adds two individual heated and cooled seats in the second row, converting the SUV from an eight-seater to a seven-seater, making it ideal for family trips and long journeys.
Currently on sale in the UK and Europe, these updates are poised to make their way to North America shortly. Additionally, a new V8-powered Octa variant is slated for release, promising even greater off-road capabilities.
