We'd love to see a video about other workarounds for automations. This has been a huge pain point with Member areas and communicating with those in the member areas even if we use Squarespace email because of the limitations of their email campaigns. This is a great video! Thank you so much Rache!
This is so great Rache!! I have a client site launching and she was just about to do Teachable for her course when I noticed Squarespace launched this. Your video is great and will help me get her up and running quickly. Going to check out the automation workaround in the Standout Squarespace community- that's the only piece I was trying to figure out!
This was very helpful as I begin to put my first course together through the Squarespace portal. Your teaching style is perfect! Thank you for providing this information for free.
Really wonderful video. Very helpful. I liked that you went deep into showing the features and benefits along with areas of improvement. As a new course creator, I can see where these features fulfill my "must haves" vs "nice to haves." Thanks for sharing, delightful video. ty
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with Courses. Have you tried to integrate SCORM files developed in Articulate / Rise into Squarespace courses?
Thank you so much for this, you explain everything so well! I’d love to see how to set students up on a newly created course on squarespace when you’re migrating them from various other places. Also, does squarespace allow you to host your video in dropbox? Thanks!
You're most welcome! We cannot host video on dropbox since they don't have a video player that we can embed to sites. Potential options are veed.io, vimeo, youtube (unlisted), Loom, Muse Ai
A on demand course structure has been established, which we'll call Class Number One. The objective is to start Class Number Two (which covers the same material) after completing Class Number One. It's important to ensure that access to all course material is not granted simultaneously for Class Number Two. This sequential approach to course access encourages a structured learning pathway, which helps students to focus and understand each successive class better.
I've created my entire course only to get to the end and find that I can't see if my users have completed the lessons. And you confirmed it to me in the video too. Do you know how long we have to wait for this feature?
Hi Paola! I believe the analytics feature where course creators can view students' progress is not in the short-term pipeline. They are prioritizing quizzes; but there isn't a commitment on the timeline.
Thank you for this thorough walk-through. I'm certainly excited not to have to invest in a separate platform to get started with courses. Can you demo designing a sales page for courses?
Hi Rache, I’m trying to figure out how I can sell a product and have users get added to a course. I’m trying to figure out how to use this with templates. Would love for you to break down how we can sell templates with course videos with squarespace. Maybe within Standout Squarespce? Thanks!
Squarespace doesn't specify any bandwidth limit. But they specified the limits in terms of minutes as I've mentioned at 26:25 timestamp. I recommend getting in touch with Squarespace customer support re:bandwidth limit.
If you only want to be able to offer one course for free (to travel clients), is teachable the best option? I hate to pay extra for Sqaurespace Courses if I'm not "Selling" the course.
Hi Amanda, you don't have to pay extra for Squarespace courses if you'll simply offer it for free. It comes with any business plan. Please refer to 24:36 for clarification on the pricing.
what do you think of the checkout process for students? they're asked to create an account before they purchase which might drop conversions compared to thrivecart?
Hi there! In my opinion, requiring customer accounts at checkout is only a barrier if we are selling physical products or digital downloads. However, if we are selling courses that will ultimately require an account to access - it does make sense to require this prior to checkout. This is also the checkout experience in other learning management software like Teachable and Kajabi to encourage students to sign in for an existing account.
Great content! Is there a "go live" option like jn Kajabi? In other words, can I make live coaching calls with peopoe who have purchased my course? Thank you!
This is a great question. Squarespace Courses doesn't have specialized features for coaching like Kajabi. This is one of the improvement opportunities. Alternatively though, we may simply add a zoom link to one of the lessons so students can easily access the live call. It's not as straightforward as the integration with Kajabi though.
Totally hear you on on this. But not all course creators need quizzes and there are other software which specializes in building quizzes. I've used Teachable for years and personally did not use their quiz feature. Personally, I believe Squarespace Courses feature is sufficient for most use cases.
You can create a workbook which correlates to the course and ask students to fill it out as they go along. As long as you're teaching something, it's still a lesson.
