It is always exciting to see returned pieces. When I was in high school in the 1950's a neighbor for whom I babysat owned a chair. It had a plastic cover protecting the very faded seat cushion. I hope that chair made it back to the palace. In the 1960's I had a job at the San Francisco Sheraton Palace Hotel. Because I was interested in Hawaii, I was taken upstairs to a place in the hallway, where there was a large & elaborate chair which had a brass plaque saying that this was the chair of King Kalakaua and he always used it when in San Francisco. In the 1990's I enquired about the whereabouts of this chair, but no one knew at that time. Someone has it & perhaps they could return it, too. Oakland 2020
